The server room door slammed open, alarms screaming. Julian rushed in, Daniel close behind, to find Maya fighting with the main control panel. Sparks flew as she ripped out wires, her face a mask of rage.

"What are you doing?!" Julian yelled, his voice echoing in the confined space.

Maya whirled around, her eyes blazing. "Saving Liam's company," she spat. "From your backstabbing little friend here." She pointed to Daniel with a sneer.

Daniel paled, stumbling backward. "What? That's crazy! I would never…"

"Oh, really?" Maya smirked, tossing a handful of data chips at Julian's feet. "Take a look. See for yourself."

Julian knelt, picking up one of the chips. He plugged it into a nearby device and his eyes widened. Lines of code scrolled across the screen, showing a trail of sabotage, carefully orchestrated to cripple Liam's tech company.

He looked up at Daniel, his face a thundercloud. "Explain this."

Daniel wrung his hands, his voice shaking. "I… I can explain. It's not what it looks like."

"Then tell me what it looks like, Daniel," Julian growled, his Alpha voice making the air crackle.

Daniel flinched. "I… I did it for you, Julian. I saw how close you were getting to Liam, how he was taking over your life. I just wanted to protect you."

"Protect me?" Julian repeated, his voice dangerously low. "By destroying Liam's company? By hurting him?"

"He's not one of us, Julian," Daniel begged. "He's an Omega. He's dangerous. He's just using you."

Julian's hand clenched into a ball, his knuckles white. "Get out, Daniel," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "Get out before I do something I regret."

Daniel stared at him, his eyes filled with tears. "Julian, please. Don't do this."

"Get out!" Julian roared, releasing a wave of Alpha power that sent Daniel stumbling backward.

Daniel turned and ran, leaving Julian alone with Maya. The alarms were still screaming, the server room a scene of chaos.

"Thank you, Maya," Julian said, his voice heavy. "For showing me the truth."

Maya shrugged. "Just doing what's right," she said. "Liam deserves better."

Julian looked at the data chips in his hand, his heart hurting. He had trusted Daniel, relied on him for years. And all that time, he had been quietly plotting against Liam.

He felt a rush of anger, not just at Daniel, but at himself. He had been so stupid, so foolish. He had let his own fears cloud his judgment, allowing Daniel to manipulate him.

He had to make things right. He had to apologize to Liam, to explain everything. But more importantly, he had to stop Daniel. He couldn't let him hurt Liam again.

He turned to Maya. "Where's Liam?" he asked. "I need to talk to him."

Maya paused. "He's… he's gone," she said. "He left the city."

"What?" Julian stared at her in disbelief. "Why? Where did he go?"

Maya sighed. "It's complicated," she said. "He thinks he can't trust you. He thinks you're working with your father."

Julian's heart sank. He knew he had to find Liam, no matter what.

"How do I find him?" he asked.

"He's with Evelyn," Maya said. "They're trying to find our parents."

"Our parents?" Julian repeated, confused. "What are you talking about?"

"It's a long story," Maya said. "But the important thing is, they're in danger. They're being hunted."

"By whom?" Julian asked.

"I don't know," Maya said. "But whoever it is, they're powerful. And they're getting closer."

Julian's mind raced. He had to protect Liam, to protect his folks. He had to stop the forces that were trying to destroy them all.

"I'm going after them," he said, his voice filled with purpose. "I'm going to find Liam, and I'm going to bring him back safe."

"I'm coming with you," Maya said. "You're going to need my help."

Julian nodded. "Then let's go," he said. "We don't have a moment to lose."

As they prepared to leave, Julian couldn't shake the feeling that they were going into a trap. He didn't know who to trust, or where to turn. But he had to try. He had to do everything he could to save Liam, to save his family, to save his city.

Suddenly, his phone rang. It was Daniel.

Julian paused, then answered the call. "What do you want, Daniel?" he asked, his voice cold.

"Julian, please," Daniel said, his voice desperate. "I need your help. They're coming for me."

"Who's coming for you?" Julian asked, his heart racing.

"Them," Daniel said, his voice shaking. "The ones I was working with. They found out I betrayed them. They're going to kill me."

"Then you should have thought about that before you betrayed Liam," Julian said, his voice filled with anger.

"Please, Julian," Daniel begged. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I just wanted you to be happy."

Julian hesitated. He didn't want to help Daniel. He deserved whatever was coming to him.

But he couldn't just leave him to die. He wasn't a monster.

"Where are you, Daniel?" Julian asked.

"I'm at the docks," Daniel said. "Please, Julian. Hurry."

Julian hung up the phone, his mind racing. He had a choice to make. He could go after Liam, or he could try to save Daniel.

He couldn't do both. He didn't have enough time.

He looked at Maya, his face etched with uncertainty. "What do I do?" he asked.

Maya looked back at him, her eyes filled with understanding. "Save Liam," she said. "He's the most important thing."

Julian nodded, his heart heavy. He knew she was right. He had to protect Liam, no matter what.

But he couldn't just leave Daniel to die. He had to do something.

He turned to Maya. "Call the council," he said. "Tell them Daniel is in danger. Tell them to send someone to protect him."

"Are you sure about this, Julian?" Maya asked, her voice unsure. "They might not get there in time."

"It's the best I can do," Julian said. "Now go. We have to find Liam."

Maya nodded and ran off to make the call. Julian turned and headed towards the docks, his heart racing. He knew that he was making a dangerous choice, but he had no other option.

As he neared the docks, he saw a person standing in the shadows. It was Daniel, his face pale and his eyes wide with fear.

"Julian, thank God," Daniel said, his voice shaking. "They're here. They're coming for me."

Suddenly, a group of figures appeared from the shadows, surrounding Daniel. They were armed and scary, their faces hidden by masks.

"It's over, Daniel," one of them said, his voice cold and threatening. "You betrayed us. Now you're going to pay the price."

Julian watched in fear as the figures closed in on Daniel, their weapons raised. He knew that he had to do something, but he was too late.

Suddenly, a person stepped out of the shadows, his face hidden in the darkness. He raised his hand, and a bolt of dark power shot towards Daniel.

Julian cried out, but it was too late. The bolt of magic hit Daniel, and he collapsed to the ground, his body convulsing.

The figures turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Julian alone with Daniel. He rushed to Daniel's side, his heart racing.

Daniel looked up at him, his eyes filled with pain. "Julian… I'm sorry," he whispered. "I didn't mean to hurt anyone."

"It's okay, Daniel," Julian said, his voice choked with emotion. "Just hold on. Help is coming."

But Daniel shook his head. "It's too late," he said. "I'm dying."

He reached out and took Julian's hand, his grip weak. "Please, Julian," he whispered. "Forgive me."

Julian squeezed his hand, tears running down his face. "I forgive you, Daniel," he said. "I forgive you."

Daniel smiled, a faint, peaceful smile. Then, his eyes closed, and his hand went limp.

Julian stared at Daniel's lifeless body, his heart hurting. He had tried to save him, but he had failed.

He was alone again, standing in the darkness, surrounded by death and misery. He had lost everything. His friend, his faith, his hope.

And he knew that it was all his fault.

Suddenly, he heard a voice, speaking in his ear.

"You cannot save everyone, Julian Blackwood," the voice said. "Some must be sacrificed for the greater good."

Julian whirled around, his eyes burning with anger. "Who's there?" he demanded. "Show yourself!"

A person stepped out of the shadows, his face hidden in the darkness. He raised his hand, and a bolt of dark power shot towards Julian.

Julian threw up a shield, deflecting the blow. But the force of the blast sent him stumbling backward.

He looked at the figure, his heart pounding. He knew who it was. It was his father.

"Father," Julian said, his voice filled with disbelief. "What are you doing?"

Senator Blackwood smiled, a cold, cruel smile. "I'm saving Tenebrous City, Julian," he said. "Even if it means sacrificing you."
