Chapter 575 Chapter 575
He could feel her eyes staring at him. Anytime he glanced up from the screen, she was looking at him. Griffin turned in the chair and checked, she was doing it again. Why was she looking at him? “I’m trying to concentrate here, and you’re boring a hole in the back of my head.”
Her brows furrowed, and then she pushed away from the counter and stomped across the room. She looked mad, maybe he shouldn’t have said something. When she was right in front of him, she looked down at him, fiery temper very plain in her eyes. She grabbed his face and kissed him. Not a quick contact of lips, but a kiss that reached his soul and several levels deeper, if that were possible. She broke the kiss off just as he was going to reach for her.
“Get it done.” Turning on her heel, she stomped to the door and left.
Griffin looked at the closed door and then at Blair. He was smirking. Noah was too.
“I thought she was going to punch you.” Blair grinned.
Noah nodded, “I don’t understand women.”
Blair snorted, “None of us do. The trick is to fake it and hope it’s in the right way, so they don’t gut you.”
Griffin licked his lips which were Blaise flavored now. “That doesn’t seem like sound advice.”
Blair looked up from the page he held, “it’s not, but it’s all I can offer.”
“I don’t think she’s happy with the match.” He sat back and motioned to his chest, “half-breed, born on the wrong side of the fight and related to the tyrant that’s destroyed so many lives.”
Blair put the papers down and rested his hands on the table, “mates have a way of working things out, with or without your cooperation.”
His doubt must have been plain to see because Blair grinned.
“I was head over heels for someone else, nursing a broken heart,” he motioned to the door, “Kobie had lost her whole clan and resented everything that males stood for because they’d walked right by her all of her life,” he shrugged, “it was rocky, but we got there.”
Griffin ran his hand through his hair, it seemed like it was thicker and longer every time he touched it. His bear must have some shaggy coat. “I don’t see me having freedom anytime soon, so it will be a lot more than rocky.”
Noah smirked, “you don’t even know rocky when it comes to mates. My mating is the most unmate-like mating in history.”
Blair glanced at him, “but it works for you, right? What Kobie and I have works for us,” he motioned around the table, “that’s what I’m saying, it works out for each couple.”
Noah rolled his eyes, “you don’t even know what you’re saying.” He held out a few more pages, “get back to reading this and stop trying to be a counselor.”
Blair glared at him, “I have to be everything as an Alpha. I don’t know what I’m doing, I keep telling people that, but no one believes me.”
“You excel at faking it,” Noah mumbled.
“I do, don’t I?” Blair smiled and picked up more pages.
