KRIS:
It was Saturday and Valentine was hosting a pool party at his place. Paige and I walked into the compound to see it was filled. It was supposed to be a pool party for just our group of friends but the place was crowded. That was how popular Valentine had become.
"Yo!! Paige.” Chris called out from the pool deck.
Our eyes immediately located him and we went to meet him.
He'd left us after waiting for a long time. Lexi didn't come. She said something about being busy at home.
"You finally made it.” He said, slinging a hand over my shoulder.
"And let me tell you, it wasn't easy.” I shook my head remembering how we finally decided on what to wear.
"Well now you're here. Go change and join the party.” He tapped my shoulder before making his way towards the pool.
The dude was already in his swim trunks.
Paige and I got into the house and found a room to change in. After changing into our swimsuits we got out. I could feel eyes on us. All thanks to Paige. She made me wear a flimsy one piece just like hers. It barely covered my boobs and ass.
But what can I say, Paige loves the attention she gets.
Almost at the pool, I scanned the whole place with my eyes but saw no sign of Lucian. I only saw Valentine standing beside a group of guys. So, I strolled to him.
"Hi.” I greeted him, flashing him a smile.
"Hey, Kris. What's up?” He smiled back, slinging his arm over my shoulder.
"I'm looking for Lucian.”
"He should be in his room.”
"Okay. Thanks.” With that, I turned to walk away.
"Kris!!” Valentine called when I was a few steps away from him.
"Yeah?" I turned and raised a brow at him "You want Lucian to kill someone huh?”
What's he talking about? I scrunched my brows together in distaste.
To convey his point, his eyes raked over me. Looking at myself, I finally understood what he meant.
Looking back at him, I gave him the middle finger before turning to walk away.
I heard laughter behind me.
Fucker.
Walking into the house, I headed straight for Lucian's room. On getting to the door, I barged in, not bothering to knock but the person I walked in on wasn't Lucian. I froze in place.
A girl with red hair was sprawled on his bed completely naked. Immediately, I slammed the door shut.
Okay. Maybe I'm in the wrong room. But the walls are grey and it has his scent in it. I must be hallucinating. I thought to myself.
I should just check another room. I decided before closing the door and walking down the hallway.
I checked all the rooms on the top floor but they were all empty and different from where I'd come to know as his room.
A thought came to me to check his room again but I knew I wouldn't be able to stomach the implications of what I'll see.
Oh, God. Lucian is…
I couldn't even bring myself to complete the thought. Tears stung my eyes and I did my best not to let them fall. I wasn't about to start crying because of a guy.
The last time I cried over a guy, I was 15. My supposed boyfriend had cheated on me with his so-called best friend. It hurt like hell because he was the first guy I dated. Since then I haven't dated. Well, till Lucian.
And now I just found out he's no different.

LUCIAN:
Val was hosting another party and the whole place was crowded.
It's a good thing my room is on the top floor so I don't have to witness any shit. I thought to myself as I entered the kitchen.
I needed a drink. After getting it, I looked around for Kris but didn't see her.
Maybe she hasn't arrived or she isn't coming. I'll just call her. I decided.
I took a sip from the cold Coke in my hand before making my way up the stairs.
While climbing up the stairs, I heard footsteps. Looking up, I saw her petite form rushing down with her eyes fixed on the ground.
She must have gone to my room to look for me.
I stood still and let her crash on me.
Her eyes snapped to mine and that was when I saw it.
She'd been crying.
Fuck.
I'd only seen her cry once. When she lost her dad and that was a year ago. She hadn't met me then.
I swear I'd kill whoever made her cry.
As if remembering I was staring at her eyes, she looked away from me and tried sidestepping me but I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her against me.
She struggled to get free but I held on tightly.
"Princess...why are you crying?” I managed to ask in a calm voice though my insides were a raging mess.
Instead of giving me an answer, she attempted to push me away but I placed a hand under her chin to lift her face. Her eyes were filled with hate and anger.
Now I was more furious.
"What. Happened?” I asked in the calmest voice I could manage, while already planning a slow painful death for whoever hurt her.
"Stop pretending you're a bastard.” She screamed at me.
I frowned in confusion.
Her jaw tensed. She closed her eyes and when she finally opened them, she looked me straight in the eye before asking "who's the bitch on your bed?"
Now, that was strange. I couldn't remember the last time I shared my bed with anyone apart from herself. Deciding to know who it was, I lifted her as she yelped and struggled while I climbed the remaining stairs, heading straight to my room.
On opening the door, I was presented with the irksome view of Stacy, stark naked and sprawled on my bed.
What. The. Fuck? I gritted my teeth in annoyance.
Stacy was one of Val's friends. She'd been trying to get my attention but I'd never shown interest in her.
And now she did this. My hands were twitching to snap her neck.
"Ohhhh, Luc. Heyyy..." Stacy drawled in a sugar-coated voice, crawling to the edge of the bed, seductively.
I stared at her coldly.
Dropping Kris beside me, I grabbed onto her hand tightly. I couldn't let her go in the state she was in.
Kris looked at me then her eyes darted to the naked girl.
Stacy let her eyes glide over to Kris and her face contorted into a mean smile before returning to mine. She got out of the bed and sashayed to me completely ignoring Kris.
She tilted her chest forward, flaunting her tits in my face. Gritting my teeth, I placed a hand on her neck and tightened it to choke her to death. I tightened my hand so much that her face started turning red with lack of breath.
The rage boiling in me had me tightening my hand more, wanting to squeeze the life out of her scrawny body but I felt a soft hand on my chest. My eyes traveled to the hand and I saw it was Kris. I looked at her and saw the fear in her eyes. But somehow, her eyes were at the same time pleading with me to let go of Stacy.
Looking back to Stacy, I lowered my head to her ears and said in a deadly voice, "I don't beat women but I could kill you.” She shivered in fear from my words and her eyes widened.
Thereafter, I released her and she scampered to the door, not caring that she was naked and anyone, If not everyone, could see her.
"I don't want to ever see you in this house again.” I added before she ran out.
