Chapter 17

ALEC

For the first time since I've seen Vanessa, she is frightened for her life. Her parents, and the ones who created her were trapped in a child form. And many more that seem important. She stood there holding her head, in complete and utter shock. Her breathing started to be intense.

"I need to go, like now. Umm Alec get them taken care of please. I have to go" She left once again, right before I could answer. She shifted so quickly, and I still don't understand. I looked back at everyone; they were checking on each other.

"Alpha Steele, Luna Steele can you explain to me what's going on?" They looked at me.

"We've been cursed until now, to die and keep coming back as kids. Vanessa has broken that spell. We need to speak with King Alias with all due respect Alpha" I nodded as they are the ancients.

"Before we head over there, just so you know we wear clothes now. Being naked isn't a thing. So, let's get everyone dressed before we go, and I'll alert Alias." They nodded in confusion but seemed rather understanding.

"Alias, can you please clear your schedule. Alpha and Luna Steeler are here. This is a story we all need to hear"

"What do you mean? They died a long time ago?"

"Yeah that's why I’m saying they are here to explain, also Vanessa took off like she knows what's happening. But she was scared. I've never seen her so afraid.

"She was afraid, you say?"

"Yes, I am talking about pulling her hair out because she is scared."

"Alright I will meet everyone for dinner, let me go find her. There are only two things she is afraid of. That is death, and shapeshifters"

It suddenly dawned on me, maybe just maybe it's both. I think she may have figured out exactly what's going on. She mentioned how nothing seemed to be making sense, that nothing is going right lately. Hopefully, they can shed some light on all these issues.

ALIAS

After Alec said that Vanessa's adoptive parents are here alive, nothing was adding up together. Vanessa gets happy, sad, mad. But she is one of the most feared creatures to exist. But she was afraid for her life? Now something must be going on. I decided to run into the forest trying to get sent. She wouldn't answer mind-links, so I was going in blind. Shapeshifters were one of things she was afraid of. There was one secret we both kept that we swore no one would have told. But she was fooled by a shapeshifter who pretended to be me.

She had sex with it thinking it was me, but he used that to tie her up. Inflict as much pain as he could on her. Even though she healed, it was nonstop of the pain. Shapeshifters didn't exist until a warlock who was banished for practicing magic, without our knowledge was shunned. So, he created such creatures for his own devilish ways. He wanted revenge for Vanessa limiting his magic.

I've been running for about a good 20 minutes, when I finally captured her scent. It was dual, meaning she is by water trying to mask it. I reached the end by the water, and there she was practicing her magic. I stood there and watched so I could see what she was doing. But I knew she saw me there.

"I know you're here, and I am fine. You can go." She went back chanting away.

"What do you know about the warlocks, and shapeshifters?" She stopped in her place.

"Vee what is going on?" I saw her body tense up once more.

"I can break this curse; I know exactly what it is. It is not that hard. However, we have bigger problems than Alias." Her back is still to me. She turned back to me, and he was right. She never looked so scared for her life. She had tears in her eyes, it was that type of fear.

"If the warlock is back, he is creating an army, that even for me it's going to be too strong. He is after this baby. This child is going to be super strong, as it's going to be born a pup first, not human form. I have to give birth in my wolf form." That is such a weird thing, no one’s ever given birth in wolf form. Only full breed wolves. There was such a thing, where they have no human form.

"What is wrong with that?" She is messing with her fingers now, and she is getting more and more nervous. But she sent me a mind-link so that no one can listen in on us.

"A wolf born wolf first are the strongest ones. They get the wolf anger, and strength before they shift into their human bodies. If he gets a hold of the child and raises it. He can have our child kill anyone who walks it path. But only I will be able to kill it. I can't and won't kill my own child" Now I understand the issue with it all. We won't know who is. He wants to use our own child against us to kill us. So, what is the plan then?

"I am going to put a spell on the child. I will hide its wolf, so it's born human. I am sending it to the human world. He or she is safer not with us Alias. "

"No. No, you are not taking my kid away from me. We can protect it. I'll do whatever it takes, but our child stays with its parents. You tell me a different route!" How dare her even suggest a thing. I know she has not attached, but that is our child. We will not abandon it, when she is abandoned.

"People are listening, this is why we mind-link!" She is angry at this point. Her hand is on her naked stomach. I hear the heartbeat of our child, and it soothes me. I am going to be the one to love my kid and teach it everything.

"I have another solution, and it's something that is frowned upon. I can take its wolf away. We will raise a human until it's old enough to know right from wrong. I can hold its wolf somewhere safe. It will never be an Alpha though." Raising a human baby, how will that work.

"I will not do anything without your say. If you decide neither then we will go full army mode. Locked gates. No one comes in or out without the fancy background checks they've been doing. I must blood check everyone before entry because of shapeshifters. It will be getting ready for war." I debated all options, but there was no room to think anymore. The warlock was out for blood, and it will be our blood over this kid.

"Full lock down. He is the right heir to the royal throne. He will be trained to be the best damn warrior there is. We are in this together." I put her hand in mind before anything. Regardless of our mating status, she is my best friend. We have one goal, keep this baby safe.

"Okay good because it starts now. I induced the baby to come out. I am a better protector when I can fight." She clutched onto her stomach as the pains got to her. The baby is coming now dammit! I pulled her into my arms and darted towards the pack house. I know she must shift, but it isn't safe to not know who to trust anymore. I'll make the calls when I know we are all okay. No time to talk to everyone, what Vanessa says. Goes.

Her belly was extending by the second, as we knew the babe was coming. She was sweating, and panting. I can sense her wolf trying to shift.

"Not yet Vee, let's get inside." She is fighting the urge to shift, covering her mouth so that she doesn't scream. We finally reached the house, when she jumped out of my arms, and shifted. Her white wolf came out. She runs inside, as I follow her. Makes me think if this child will be born a pup first, will she have to stay in wolf form in order to feed.

"I need healers here, and any warm blankets. Our heir is being born. I need all Alpha's and Luna at the pack house. I need all guards to shut down the borders. No one leaves or comes in. This is no longer an open pack. Careful with those acting weird. If you see anything not normal, please inform Alec or me."

I hadn't even finished my sentence, before Alec and her parents came barging in. She was breathing hard, and panting.

"Why is she in wolf form, and why is she early?" Alec asked.

"I will fill you in later, but she has to give birth in wolf form. A pup will be born first. It may not shift for a while." He smiled. I thought he would fight me like he always does, but he didn't.

"It's a "He". Sorry I got really nosy, and anxious I had to look." A boy? We are having a boy. Vanessa had started growling and pacing the floor. She grabbed the blanket off the couch and began to nest. Grabbing pillows, and anything that was soft. She didn't even realize her parents were there in shock watching her.

"Our little girl is having a pup, a little boy" Her mother said. She walked up to Vanessa and stroked her head. I don't know what to do. No one prepared me for this. Vanessa was still nesting trying to get comfortable. She looked focused as if she was mind-linking. But it was all answered when Alec had shifted and nuzzled into her. I let out a growl, which he ignored. I sat down next to them and put her head on my lap. I rubbed her head for as long as she was in labor.

VANESSA

I knew by using magic to induce myself to give birth already, it came with the worst side effects. The contractions were worse than anyone would ever get. Everything was extending, and milk was worsening. When I found out the warlock was alive, who knew how long he was alive. How big of an army he has. Who around is who they say they are? Well we’re going to find out. I may not have an attachment to this child, but I will protect him at all costs. He will never feel unwanted. He will be the most feared wolf to ever exist!!

I didn't realize that I had been pushing through my thoughts. I pushed, and panted, and howled until a fur ball had come out of me. It was a big fur ball. The fiercest wolf to ever exist. I started licking him like the mom should do and cleaning him up.

I had shifted back holding the fur ball in my hand.

He is Drew Alias Steele.

Alias had looked at me in complete awe.

"Wait why Drew?" Alec had asked.

"Drew was the name of his brother who died saving his life. Drew was an amazing guy, so he is worthy." Alec had bent down to kiss me on my forehead. Alias had hugged me and started crying more. But even with this happiness, it didn't last long. With Drew here. There was a group of shapeshifters who will be coming for him. it's the beginning to the end...

UNKNOWN

And where there is power, I will be. I stayed hidden, watching the pup being born. It was cut in half of black and white, and he contained a power like no other. I aimed my gun at the oh so wonderful Vanessa Steele. She was forever going to be a problem. I cocked the gun back.
