Is he really going to wake up? (Bonus Harry)

**Harry Point of view**

It had been exactly five weeks since Zac had fallen into a coma, exactly one month and one week ago. Cassidy never stops visiting him, there isn't a day when she's not in that hospital with Zac's relatives. That bitch Mandy won't leave either, even though everyone tries to stop her getting close to him, that crazy woman is so fucking insistent. I took a deep breath when I saw Cassy coming down the stairs from her aunt's house, and as always she looked radiant and beautiful. Every day my little girl became even more beautiful, starting with her pregnancy, which was working so well for her, and her body was becoming even more beautiful. Over the last few weeks, the nausea has increased very frequently, and it's almost impossible to hide her pregnancy from the rest of the staff. Soon everyone, apart from me and her friends, knew about the baby in her belly.

“Are you ready?” I ask as she comes down the last step.

“Sure, let's go.” she says and we head towards my car. Today was my day to take her to the hospital, Austin, Ash and I have been taking turns to take her every day.

The atmosphere between the two of us remained the same, we were best friends who had already hooked up. But we were determined not to let it happen again, because we knew what was at stake... It's true that sometimes the two of us flirted with each other, but that's as far as it went. I was hopelessly in love with Cassidy, but I knew where I fit in at that moment and I knew how far I could go, how much I had to endure. If it had been any other time, I would have come forward a long time ago and claimed her for myself, showing her how well I could do her, but now we have more than one person at stake and Zac's current situation doesn't allow us much, apart from the trials that would come and Cassidy wouldn't be able to take that.

“I'm 14 weeks along today,” she says, ‘In another month we'll be able to find out the sex of the baby.’ I smile at her as I drive down the highway.

“It'll be a girl,” I say and she rolls her eyes.

“Do you still insist on that? My God, Harry!” she laughs and shakes her head.

“When you look at that screen and see that it's a little girl, you'll see that I was right all along.” I say and she denies it, then her attention turns to her cell phone, and we walk in silence.

Since the day Kiley and Mandy revealed Cassidy's past, all our friends have been overprotective, they've been like family to me, and that made her feel bad for a while because she thought everyone was feeling sorry for her, until one day we all organized a surprise party for her and told her what we thought of her, how we felt about her. After that, Cassidy loosened up again and allowed the others to be part of it all, and accepted every cuddle, every hug from one of us, and since then she's been a bit light, until the moment she arrives at the hospital and meets Mandy, who looks like a vulture sniffing Zac as if he were a big carrion.

“Are you going to wait for me or...” she starts and I stop the car in the hospital parking lot.

“I'll go with you, I also want to see how Zac is,” I say and she nods.

The walk to the waiting room doesn't take long, we meet Aisha halfway and she smiles at us and hugs us. Her hug lingers longer on me, and I know it was intentional, after all, she's always had a thing for me. I confess that we kissed a few times in the past, but it never went beyond that. At the time I never wanted anything serious with anyone, and she knew that and never pressured me.

“It's good to finally see you,” she says and looks at me "I can't stand that snake in there anymore, it won't go away." she says, referring to Mandy, and we laugh.

“How is he?” asks Cassidy.

“He's been reacting well, but there's no sign that he's going to wake up just yet.” Aisha sighs and turns her attention back to me, she can't hide it anymore and it's becoming a bit embarrassing.

“Well then, I'll go and see him if you don't mind,” says Cassidy and the girl in front of us smiles at her and nods.

“Of course, sister-in-law,” she opens her eyes a little. "Sorry, I'm still not used to it." she says and the brunette next to me smiles sideways.

“Don't worry, I'm going. Shall we go, Hazz?” says Cassidy and I nod in confirmation.

“Ah, Harry?” I look at the girl in front of me ”Can we, uh, talk for a minute?” Aisha bites her lip and smiles at me, I look at Cassy and her eyebrows are arched. I take a deep breath and touch her shoulder.

“Can you go ahead? As soon as I've finished here, I'll come to you.” Cassidy was a little reluctant to follow, but in the end she just shook her head and walked away, leaving me alone with my friend's sister.

“What do you need to talk to me about?” I ask Aisha and she approaches me.

“You know, I know this isn't the time, but meeting you again really got to me,” she puts her hand on my arm "I wish I could start again and go deep this time, without stopping for anything." she says and I know exactly what she's getting at. Aisha wants to go beyond kissing, but that was years ago and now I don't feel horny for any woman, well, except one.

“Aisha,” I sighed, ”What happened between us was nice. Your kiss was good, but it didn't go any further than that. To be honest, I didn't even remember we'd been together until you came up to me and said something about it,” I see a flash of hurt pass across his face and I feel bad about it “I don't want you to be upset with me, it's just that a lot has changed in recent years. I'm not that Harry anymore.” I said to her and she turned away, smiling sideways.

“That's why I'm even more interested, to see that you're nothing like that idiot from the past,” she nibbles her lip "You like someone else, don't you?" she asks and I end up smiling as I imagine Cassidy.

“Yes, I'm actually crazy about her,” I say to her.

“All right, I hope everything works out between you,” she says ”Well, I'll leave you free now. I'll see you around again, Harry, and if you change your mind, you know where to find me.” she says and walks towards the elevator.

I sigh deeply and walk to Zac's room. When I get there, I notice that Mandy hasn't left the room yet and is picking on Cassidy. I feel anger rising in my chest, and I open the door, stopping any chance of her hurting my girl.

“It's over Mandy,” I say and hold the door open. "You can leave." she laughs as she crosses her arms.

“Who do you think you are to kick me out of here?” she asks.

“Someone more important than you, now excuse us,” I try to be as polite as possible.

“I'm not going out Harry, I have my right.” she says and now I'm the one laughing.

“What right? Tell me Amanda, what the fuck is your right?” I shout at her and see Cassidy bite her lip.

“Zac's my boyfriend, I'm the one who should be here, not her.” says Mandy and I deny it.

“Zac is your ex-boyfriend,” she opens her mouth to interrupt me, but I'm quicker than she is “Even though he and Cassidy are no longer together, he went after her and not you. So we know very well here, who is the priority, who has the right and who is the person we all like and want around. So please leave right now.” I finish, and I see her shaking with rage. Mandy picks up her bag and walks away stiffly.

“It's not going to stay that way.” she says and leaves, slamming the bedroom door.

I took a deep breath and walked over to Cassidy, hugging her quickly and touching her face. She looks at me and I see how grateful she is, I would do it a thousand times if I had to. I would give and do anything for her, even if it hurt me deeply.

As soon as I got away from her, I walked over to Zac, who was intubated and wearing a brace. He was thinner and paler, seeing him like that cut my heart, despite everything that guy was my friend and I felt bad seeing him in that state and having no reaction, nothing to show that he would react.

“Is he really going to wake up?” asks Cassidy.

“There are times when I think so, but there are others...” I say and she sighs, I see her come closer and touch his hand.

“Zac, I know we didn't end on a good note, but I need you to wake up,” she begins and I watch “If not for me, then for your family and if not for them, then for this baby that's here in my belly. As I've told you other times, you're going to be a father and even if we don't have the possibility of getting back together, I want you to be a good father, someone who is present in our child's life,” her cheeks already wet, Cassidy cries without caring “I like you and I wish you well, so please come back. Please.” she says and I swallow as I hear that last sentence. I shake my head and try to shake it off, I couldn't let it get to me, after all it was something I already knew, and as I've said many times, even if Cassidy doesn't stay with me, all I want most is for her to be happy.

Wherever it is, whoever it's with.
