Chapter 61!

Ezra POV:

I feel like I’m running out of time. I’m getting desperate. There is one pack I always left alone. But now has come the time to pay them a visit. I need to find Elise.

She is being tortured. I can feel her pain growing stronger the more time goes on. She needs me. I shouldn’t have left her with Kyros.

“Ezra, the troops are ready to raid the pack. What do you want us to do,” asked Tae.

“Raid every house. Every fucking crevice of that fucking village. I want every hybrid at my feet,” I ordered.

No one is getting off easy. She must be found before it’s too late.

I enter the village as the troops basically rage through the whole pack. Screams and cries are heard everywhere. I walk to what I assume is the center of the village.

I watch as my men run from house to house. Children get separated from their parents. As much of an asshole as I am, I’m not here to harm any child. I keep an eye on them as my men continue to move all around us.

A crowd begins to form around me. More and more people are being brought out of homes. Men trying to push back, women crying. The children get taken to some building where they will be safe.

“I’m here to find someone,” I shout above all the noise. “This person must be found. She was taken and this is the last place we have left to look. Someone here must know the truth of her whereabouts. Come forward now and tell me or face punishment. I always let this pack be free to do as they please since you never seemed to cause me any trouble. But that ends today.”

“Why would we know where this girl is,” someone shouts back.

“I’ve searched everywhere for her. There are rumors about this pack. About the dark magyck that lingers around here. I know for a fact one of you must know something. This is the last place she could be,” I get angrier by the second.

I glare at those closest to me, that's when I notice a shift in someone in the crowd. Blond hair sways as the girl moves in the opposite direction of the crowd. Black clothing lines her pale white skin. There is something about her that screams faerie but her scent is off. She must be a hybrid.

People start getting pushed to the front of the crowd. I have one of my guys take over for me and start questioning those nearest us. I make my way through the crowd going after this girl. She manages to slip past one of my guards without being detected. It’s almost as if no one else can see her except for me.

I will keep a distance for now. I watch as she runs towards the furthest side of the pack territory. I continue following her, even as she nears the border into the cursed lands.

Something is definitely wrong about her. Why is she trying to go into the cursed lands? It’s not exactly the best place to wander off into. Just as she is about to cross I call out to her.

“You know the cursed lands are probably the last place you want to be in,” she freezes mid step. “You’re supposed to be with the others.”

She hesitantly turns around. Her blue eyes widened as she realized who caught her trying to leave.

“You… you’re him,” she stutters.

“I am who,” I ask her.

“The dark prince of Ravenloft,” she answers. I see her picking at her nails nervously. There is another shift and it's like the glamor that was around her suddenly vanished. Wings appear on her back, along with wolf ears on her head.

“So you are a hybrid,” I say more to myself than to her.

“You shouldn’t have come here,” she says.

“And why is that? I’m searching for someone. This happens to be the last place I’m looking,” I say, taking a step closer to her.

“There are people here that won’t take a liking to a faerie prince being here in the village. It’s not safe for your people,” she says, shifting from foot to foot.

“Are you threatening my people,” I asked, lowering my voice.

“No, that would be an idiot move on my part. I just think it’s best if you leave,” she says trying her best not to stutter again.

“Name,” I demand. When she gives me a confused glance I clench my fists. “What is your name?”

“Tragidegh,” she lowers her head as she says her name. You’ve got to be joking. Her parents actually named her that?

I notice how shifty she seems to be. The more I look at her the more she seems to avoid my gaze. She knows something or seems to be hiding something.

I close the space between us. I grab hold of both her arms tightly.

“Tell me what you know, Tragidegh,” I growl in her face. I can see the slight fear in her eyes. “Tell me now or I’ll make you watch as I torture one by one anyone in this fucking pack.”

“Don’t hurt them, please,” she begs.

“Speak,” I demand.

“I know where she is,” she says, trying to pull away from me. She whimpers and I tighten my grip even harder. “The girl you seek isn’t here. She is elsewhere.”

“How do I know you’re not just lying to me,” I lowered my face to hers.

“Why would I lie and risk innocent people getting hurt? I know where she is but I can’t take you to her. But she isn’t here. I’ve seen her. He’s hurting her. I don’t agree with what they are doing but I can’t stop it,” she says.

“Who has her,” I ask.

“I can’t tell you that. But if you want to save her then you need to be quick. She doesn’t have much time left. Less than two weeks now until the full moon. Once the full moon is up high in the sky, they are going to steal her magyck and kill her,” Tragidegh explains.

“Tell me where she is,” I demand, gripping her arms tighter. I know there will be bruises there at the end but I don’t care.

“She is in there,” she points to the cursed lands with her head. “It’ll be hard to find her but I can put the image in your head if you will allow me to do so. But you must hurry to get her,” she says.

I let her go and nod my head. She motions for me to lower my head. Her small hands grab the sides of my head. Images of a house deep in the forest of the cursed lands appear in my head. Blood and daggers, smells and screams fill my head as well. A slight image of Elise.

“You have to find her,” she says before she runs off into the cursed lands disappearing as if she was never here.
