Invasion

I awoke from my trance to an eerie sound. The ancient rams horn that has been used in our history being blown. This is the signal of attack. I arose from the room that I share with Damien. I looked out the window to see a portal opening. There were at least Forty scores of wolves pouring in through the portal. I quaked in fear as I saw a familiar person at the front of the army. Alpha Lucius. His eyes were set ablaze with fury. He looked around our pack as if he were trying for find something or someone and I knew possibly who he was looking for.

I watched with horror as he walked into the pack grounds as if he had been here before. Judging by Alpha Alistair’s story, I knew he had, I knew they possibly had been close friends, before Lucius turned dark.

I ran outside. I felt rage boiling within me. I suddenly was held back. I looked upwards offended that someone dared to hold me down, and became pissed off that it was my so called father Alpha Carter.

“Tabitha! NO!”

“Let me go! He needs to pay!”

“He will, charging him is not the answer! You said you’re a warrior you should know this!”

I knew it but, I didn’t want to accept, I saw him and I saw red. I saw the pain he brought on my family. My mother and brother who were trapped in a nether world unable to break free. They were suffering, dying. He is responsible for this! I looked at Alpha Carter, he looked scared to lose me again. I hugged him and wept. He held me as I again poured out my emotions. Then we heard Lucius speak.

“I want no quarrel with you all yet” he said with an evil smile. “Kindly return to me what is rightfully mine!” he growled.

“Who do you think you are to come here and make demands you piece of shit!” I heard Luna Raven growl. Lucius’s eyes lit up in shock. I wanted to wretch when I saw longing in his eyes.

“Ah, Raven, as beautiful as ever!” He said with a twisted grin.

“Do not patronize me Lucius, you dare come to my pack and make demands! You don’t own shit here!” she snarled.

“Careful love, I am an Alpha you’re speaking to remember your place as a subservient Luna and woman” he snarled back at her. She sneered.

“Only your deranged, and backwards thinking pack treats women like sex slaves! I am a Luna, I own my fortune, my own fashion empire, my own multimillion dollar businesses, I am a doctor and the director of the women warriors training program in the entire south, I don’t need to be subservient to you!” she told him coldly. His face was mixture of shock and disgust. His fist was clenched like he wanted to beat her.

“I would kindly remember your place Lu, when you’re addressing my Luna!” Alpha Alistair growl in anger. Lucius looked like he had seen a ghost. There was something in his eyes that changed for a moment. It’s as if the darkness had gone away for only a brief moment.

“Well done, Raven, from doctor to Luna, I’m impressed. Just like your sister, aren’t you? Only at least you’re fun in the sheets, she was a prude.” He taunted. Luna Raven snarled and spit at him. Alpha Alistair immediately stood in front of her and blocked her view.

“Yeah, she was the smart one not to accept that congratulatory champaign toast from you! I had no idea you spiked it!” She retorted back as he laughed.

“At least you finally loosened up and had some fun!” She spit at him again. His hand looked like it was itching to hit her. Damien at this point had just rushed in.

‘Where were you?’ I asked him.

‘Looking for you, I was by our pond when the signal for attack had gone off’

Lucius stared at Damien and stared at her. Something in him flipped. He was looked at her like he wanted to tear her apart. His wolf howled and he shifted charging for Luna Raven. Alpha Alistair shifted and defended his Luna.

The two Alpha’s became locked in combat. Lucius was trying to lunge at her Raven and Alistair was knocking him away. I was trying to understand what was happening. My father, kept me in the shadows with himself. I could see everything going on but, it was like they couldn’t see us.

“Contrary to what you might have heard Tabitha, I do have powers. I just haven’t used them in years.” He tells me.

“What powers?” I ask him.

“I am a shadow Alpha” I stared at him in shock. Shadow Alpha’s were among some of the most powerful Alpha’s in existence.

‘It’s how I was able to escape after, watched my world burn to the ground. I used my shadow powers. I created a portal and escaped.” I hugged my father and told him that our family will be whole again. I made him that promise.

“I am not sure what powers I possess but, I saw mom. I saw Rylan. They’re suffering. They’re not dead. Sinclair has Rylan trapped in a alternate world. I was in a trance. I saw them. They’re tied to crosses. Rylan’s power slowly ebbs away as Lucius and Sinclair draw strength from his powers. Mom said their feeding off his magic to unlock and resurrect the first Alpha Luthor. The one that was evil and condemned by the Lycans to be bound in a tomb of darkness for eternity.” My fathers eyes were wide with rage and horror.

“Take me to see my wife!” he snarled at me. I stood my ground and dared not show weakness to him. Minerva came up from behind me. She looked like she had been sleeping for days rather than hours. We quickly latched on to her and hid her in the shadows so Lucius could not see her. She shuttered in fear at the sight of Lucius.

I returned to watch both Alpha’s fighting. I looked between them to see what was happening. It’s when I finally noticed something I often wondered about. Why doesn’t Damien look like Alistair? He looked similar to Luna Raven but, not like Alistair. Oh My God! He said they had a one-night stand! Holy Shit!!

Damien immediately shifts, going to fight with Alpha Alistair, his father.

“Damien! NO! Stand down!” Luna Raven orders him. He looks torn but, does what his mother says. Lucius turns to the sound of her voice and stares at Damien. Like he wants to go towards him. Alistair diverts his attention again.

“Damien find Kayla, she’s your priority! Find her and go to her! She needs your special attention in her state.”  She tells him. Damiens eyes light up at the thought of me, and he runs towards the house.

“Luna!” I shout at her. She gives me a smirk and makes a subtle gesture to her stomach while looking at me. I growl! Fuck Damien for giving me a pup right now at this point! Damien starts looking for me. My father releases me from the shadows.

“I guess congrats then, I’m going to be a grandpa” he says with a smile

“Blame him! he got all possessive after Travis Luthor rejected me!” he said with a snarl.

“WHAT?!” My father and Minerva both shouted. Minerva looked affronted.

“I don’t regret it! The Luthor’s are pieces of shit! You’re mind and no one else’s!” He said while staring at me and Minerva? What the fuck? Why is he also staring at my twin like he wants to dominate her? Why is she suddenly all shy, why is she also looking at him like she wants to ride him?
