Mine
As they disappeared, the crowd erupted into chaos, with people shouting and trying to make sense of what had just happened. Marcellus's face turned red with rage, his eyes blazing with anger.
"This isn't over, Leo!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the hall. "You may have won this time, but I'll get what's mine!"
The crowd began to disperse, with people murmuring and speculating about the sudden disappearance of the Alpha King and his newfound slave. The slave dealer, still in shock, stumbled around, trying to process the events that had just transpired.
Meanwhile, Leo appeared in his chambers, Vera still in his arms. He gently laid her down on the bed, his eyes fixed on her peaceful face.
"Why did I just spend a million gold coins on you?" he whispered, his voice barely audible. "What is it about you that draws me in?"
Vera stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She gazed up at Leo, confusion etched on her face.
"Where...where am I?" she stammered.
Leo's expression softened, his eyes gleaming with a hint of curiosity. "You're in my chambers, little bird," he replied, his voice low and smooth. "And you're mine now."
Vera's eyes widened, fear creeping into her expression. Leo's smile grew, his eyes glinting with amusement.
"Don't worry, little bird," he whispered, his breath caressing her ear. "I won't hurt you. At least, not yet."
Vera's heart skipped a beat as Leo's words sent a shiver down her spine. She tried to sit up, but Leo's hand on her shoulder gently pressed her back onto the bed.
"Rest, my little bird," he said, his voice low and soothing. "You've been through a lot. I'll have my servants bring you food and drink shortly."
Vera's eyes darted around the room, taking in the opulent decorations and the lavish furnishings. She had never seen anything like it before.
"Where am I?" she asked again, her voice barely above a whisper.
Leo smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You're in the palace of the Alpha King," he replied. "And as I said, you're mine now."
Vera's eyes widened in alarm as she realized the implications of Leo's words. She was a slave, and she belonged to the most powerful man in the kingdom.
"What do you plan to do with me?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
Leo's smile grew, his eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief. "Oh, I have many plans for you," he said. "But for now, let's just say that you'll be staying with me...for a while."
Vera's heart sank as she realized that she was completely at Leo's mercy. She had no idea what he had planned for her, but she knew that she had to be careful.
As Leo stood up to leave, Vera called out to him. "Wait," she said. "What's your name?"
Leo turned back to her, a hint of surprise on his face. "My name is Leo," he replied, and his smile good morning rew, his eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief. "Oh, before I forget, I need to know...what's your name?"
Vera hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should reveal her name to this powerful stranger. But something about Leo's piercing gaze made her feel like he could see right through her.
"I...I don't remember," she stammered, trying to sound convincing.
Leo's eyebrows raised, his expression skeptical. "You don't remember your own name?" he repeated, his voice laced with amusement.
Vera shook her head, feeling a flush rise to her cheeks. "I...I don't know what happened to me," she said, trying to sound pitiful. "I just woke up in that...that place, and I didn't know who I was or how I got there."
Leo's expression softened, his eyes gleaming with curiosity. "I see," he said, his voice low and soothing. "Well, don't worry. You'll remember eventually. And until then, I'll just have to call you...mine."
Vera's heart skipped a beat as Leo's words sent a shiver down her spine. She didn't like the sound of that one bit.
Just then, a soft knock at the door interrupted the tense moment. "Enter," Leo called out, his voice firm.
A servant entered, bearing a tray laden with food and drink. "Your Majesty," the servant said, bowing low. "I brought the slave's dinner, as you requested."
Leo nodded, his eyes never leaving Vera's face. "Good," he said. "Leave it on the table. I'll take care of her from now on."
The servant bowed and retreated, leaving Vera alone with Leo once again. She eyed the food warily, unsure if she should trust this stranger.
But Leo just smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Eat," he said, his voice low and commanding. "You're going to need your strength."
Vera hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should obey Leo's command. But her stomach was growling, and the food looked tantalizing. She decided to play along, hoping to gain Leo's trust.
She sat up, smoothing out her dress, and began to eat. The food was delicious, and she savored each bite, trying to ignore Leo's piercing gaze.
As she ate, Leo sat down beside her, his eyes never leaving her face. Vera felt a shiver run down her spine, but she tried to maintain her composure.
"You're very beautiful," Leo said, his voice low and husky. "I can see why you were so popular at the auction."
Vera's cheeks flushed, and she looked away, trying to hide her embarrassment. But Leo just chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement.
"Don't be shy," he said, his voice teasing. "You're mine now, and I want to get to know you better."
Vera's heart skipped a beat as Leo's words sent a shiver down her spine. She didn't know what to make of this powerful stranger, but she knew she had to be careful.
As she finished her meal, Leo stood up, his eyes never leaving her face. "Come," he said, his voice low and commanding. "I want to show you something."
Vera hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should trust Leo. But something about his piercing gaze made her feel like she had no choice. She stood up, smoothing out her dress, and followed Leo out of the room.
As Vera followed Leo out of the room, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She was still trying to wrap her head around her new situation, and the fact that she was now a slave to the Alpha King.
But what Leo didn't know, and what Vera was determined to keep hidden, was that she was pregnant. She had made up her mind that nothing would happen to her unborn babies.
As she walked beside Leo, Vera couldn't help but wonder what he would do if he found out about her pregnancy. Would he be angry? Would he try to get rid of her? She didn't know, and she wasn't willing to take the risk.
Leo led her to a beautiful garden, filled with lush greenery and vibrant flowers. A small pond sat in the center of the garden, and Vera could see fish swimming lazily in the water.
"It's beautiful," she said, trying to sound sincere.
Leo smiled, his eyes gleaming with pleasure. "I'm glad you like it," he said. "I wanted to show you that not everything about being a slave is bad. You'll have access to beautiful places like this, and you'll be well taken care of."
Vera nodded, trying to keep her expression neutral. She didn't want Leo to know how much she hated being a slave, or how much she longed for freedom.
As they walked through the garden, Vera couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She was trapped in this beautiful prison, with no way out. And she had to keep her pregnancy a secret, no matter what.
But as she glanced up at Leo, she saw something in his eyes that gave her a glimmer of hope. It was a spark of curiosity, a sense that he was trying to figure her out.
And Vera realized that maybe, just maybe, she could use that to her advantage.
As they continued to walk through the garden, Vera couldn't help but notice the way Leo looked at her. It was as if he was trying to see beyond her surface, to understand what made her tick.
She found herself wondering what he would do if he discovered her secret. Would he be angry, or would he try to use it to his advantage?
Vera pushed the thoughts aside and focused on the present moment. She needed to be careful, to keep her wits about her if she was going to survive this situation.
As they reached the end of the garden, Leo turned to her and smiled. "I'm glad you enjoyed the garden," he said. "I think it's time for you to rest now. You must be tired from your journey."
Vera nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She was tired, and the thought of resting was welcome.
Leo led her back to her room, and Vera was surprised to see that it had been transformed into a beautiful suite. There was a large bed, a sitting area, and even a small balcony that overlooked the garden.
"Thank you," Vera said, trying to sound sincere.
Leo smiled and nodded. "You're welcome," he said. "I want you to be comfortable here. You're going to be staying with me for a while."
Vera's heart skipped a beat as she processed Leo's words. What did he mean by "a while"? Was she going to be stuck here forever?
She pushed the thoughts aside and focused on the present moment. She needed to rest, and she needed to come up with a plan.
As Leo turned to leave, Vera called out to him. "Wait," she said.
Leo turned back to her, a questioning look on his face. "Yes?"
Vera hesitated, unsure of how to phrase her question. "What...what do you plan to do with me?" she asked finally.
Leo's smile grew, and his eyes gleamed with amusement. "Oh, I have plans for you," he said. "But for now, let's just say that you're going to be my guest...for a while."
Vera's heart sank as she realized that she was completely at Leo's mercy. She had no idea what he had planned for her, but she knew that she had to be careful.
As Leo turned and left the room, Vera couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She was trapped, and she had no idea how to escape.
Vera sat down on the bed, her mind racing with thoughts of escape and freedom. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to find a way out of this situation.
As she sat there, she noticed a small door on the other side of the room. She hadn't seen it before, and she wondered where it might lead.
Vera got up and walked over to the door. She tried the handle, and to her surprise, it opened easily.
She found herself in a narrow corridor, with several doors leading off to either side. Vera had no idea where she was or where the corridor might lead, but she was determined to explore.
She walked down the corridor, trying each door as she went. Some of them were locked, but others opened onto small rooms or closets.
Vera was starting to get discouraged, but then she heard a faint noise coming from the end of the corridor. It sounded like footsteps, and they were getting closer.
Vera's heart began to pound as she realized that she might not be alone in the corridor. She quickly looked around for a place to hide, but there was nowhere to go.
Just as the footsteps were about to round the corner, Vera saw a door to her left that she hadn't noticed before. She quickly opened it and slipped inside, hoping that whoever was coming wouldn't see her.
Vera found herself in a small, dimly lit room. There was a single chair in the center of the room, and a small table beside it. On the table, there was a single candle, burning brightly.
Vera sat down in the chair, trying to catch her breath. She had no idea who was coming down the corridor, but she was determined to stay hidden until they passed by.
As she sat there, she heard the footsteps get closer and closer. Vera held her breath, hoping that she wouldn't be discovered.
And then, just as the footsteps were about to reach the door, they stopped. Vera heard a faint whispering sound, and then the footsteps retreated.
Vera let out a sigh of relief as she realized that she had avoided being discovered. But as she sat there in the darkness, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched.
Suddenly, the candle on the table flickered and went out, plunging the room into darkness. Vera gasped, her heart pounding in her chest.
And then, she heard a faint voice whispering in her ear. "You can't hide forever, Vera."
Vera's heart skipped a beat as she spun around, trying to see who was speaking to her. But there was no one in sight. The room was pitch black, and she was alone.
Or so she thought.
"Who's there?" Vera called out, trying to keep her voice steady.
There was no response. The silence was oppressive, and Vera felt like she was being suffocated.
Suddenly, the candle on the table flickered back to life, casting eerie shadows on the walls. Vera gasped, her eyes scanning the room frantically.
That was when she saw him. A figure standing in the corner of the room, watching her.
Vera's heart was racing as she tried to make out the figure's features. But it was too dark, and he was too far away.
"Who are you?" Vera demanded, trying to sound brave.
The figure didn't respond. Instead, he took a step closer, his eyes fixed on Vera.
Vera's instincts told her to run, but her legs were frozen in place. She was trapped, and she knew it.
Just as the figure was about to take another step closer, the door to the room burst open, and Leo strode in.
"What's going on here?" he demanded, his eyes scanning the room.
The figure in the corner melted away into the shadows, and Vera was left standing alone, her heart still racing.
"I...I don't know," Vera stammered. "I was just exploring, and I stumbled upon this room. And then...and then I saw someone."
Leo's eyes narrowed. "Who did you see?" he asked, his voice low and menacing.
Vera hesitated. She didn't know if she should trust Leo, but she didn't have a choice.
"I don't know," she said finally. "It was too dark. But he was watching me."
Leo's expression turned grim. "I'll increase the guards," he said. "You're not to leave this room until I say so."
Vera nodded, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. She was trapped, and she didn't know how to escape.
