I want Her
That was what Vera had heard, it wasn't just her imagination, the Alpha King was there. His presence demanded such respect that the crowd was shrouded in fear.
“But why does he smell so familiar? I have smelled that fragrance before!” Vera mumbled thoughtfully. “Oh no! Is it Jerome? Is he here to drag me back to his cursed pack?”
At that moment, Vera was unsure what she wanted for her life. Was it to be sold to a total stranger? Or follow the man that had hit her, raped her, and slept with her sister? Suddenly memories of Jerome and how he had maltreated her began to roll in, and Vera found herself crying, although a blindfold was covering her sight.
As Vera stood there, tears streaming down her face, she felt a sense of desperation wash over her. She didn't know what the future held, but she knew she couldn't go back to Jerome's pack. The thought of being with him again, of being subjected to his cruelty and abuse, was too much to bear. Worst still, her children would have to endure torture, and she would be constantly humiliated by her sister, Anna.
Just as Vera was starting to lose hope, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. The crowd parted, and a figure emerged. Vera's heart skipped a beat as she sensed the figure's presence, and she felt a strange sense of calm wash over her.
"Who is this?" Vera wondered, her mind racing with possibilities. Was it the Alpha King? And if so, what did he want with her? Why does he smell so familiar? Why do I feel like I've been very intimate with him? Could this be Jerome? Or is it someone else?’ She thought, her mind racing with different possibilities.
As the figure drew closer, Vera's heart pounded in her chest. She felt like she was going to collapse, her legs trembling beneath her. The blindfold covering her eyes seemed to be suffocating her, and she wished she could rip it off and see who was approaching. If her legs were not chained, she would probably have crawled her way out.
The footsteps stopped right in front of her, and Vera felt a warm breath on her skin. It was like a cold hand had touched her most sensitive part.
Why does he smell so familiar? I've smelled that scent before, but where? And then it hit her - the hotel room. The man she had slept with, the one who had left a significant impact on her. But she had been so drunk that night, she couldn't even remember his face. And now, here he was, standing right in front of her.
What if it's him? What if he's the one who...? Vera's thoughts trailed off as she felt a sense of panic rising up inside her. She didn't know how to react, didn't know what to say. All she knew was that she felt a strange sense of connection to this man, and that scared her.
'Argh! Fuck me harder! Faster! Faster! Yes! You rock!” She had moaned the other night when the hotel man had come inside her.
Vera's mind began to wander back to that night. Fragments of memories began to resurface, like whispers in the darkness. She remembered the feel of his hands on her skin, the way his fingers had danced across her body. She recalled the taste of his lips, the way they had devoured hers with a hunger that left her breathless.
Vera's cheeks flushed with heat as she remembered the way he had moved inside her, his body claiming hers with a fierce intensity. She had felt alive that night like she was burning with a fire that couldn't be contained.
But the memories were hazy, like trying to grasp a handful of sand. The more she tried to hold on, the more they slipped away, leaving her with only whispers of what had happened.
“This is not possible,” Leo had uttered when he saw Vera. This was the last place he expected to see the woman. Worse still, she was in a very poor condition. Although her eyes were blindfolded, he was still able to recognize her; her hair, lips, and nose were still the same.
Then he realized why he smelled Elara. That night when he was intimate with Vera, he had accidentally left a print on her, something that would always remind him that she was his mate.
Leo was disappointed, she wasn't the person he was expecting, and his eyes dropped. He looked at her with pity, but quickly hid it under a facade of strength.
“What is she doing here? She looked alright the other night, she even had time to visit a bar, so why is she suddenly a slave?” He wondered, looking at her with piercing eyes.
“Your Majesty, I see our latest slave has caught your attention. If you like, I can reduce —”
“Shut up!” Leo stopped the slave traders from talking. They all looked eager to see him, and a broad smile was on their faces, knowing that the king would spend a fortune on slaves.
Alpha Ken was one of the Alpha who noticed that Vera caught the attention of Leo, and he immediately saw it as his escape ticket. He wanted the king to support his pack, and donate to his slave establishment, so he thought of using Vera to persuade Leo.
“She will make a great mistress and baby machine, My King,” Ken said and bowed down respectfully.
Leo looked offended by his words, and he furrowed his brows. “Keep your gutter shut! I never said I needed kids or pussy!” Without another word, he turned to leave.
“Please, please, don't go,” Vera had silently begged with her last breath, just enough for Leo to hear. Soon after she said those words, she fainted.
The crowd gasped in shock as Vera's body went limp, her words hanging in the air like a desperate plea. The slave traders exchanged nervous glances, their faces pale with worry. Alpha Ken's eyes widened in alarm, his smile faltering as he realized he might have overstepped.
The crowd began to murmur, their voices filled with a mix of concern and curiosity. Some of them took a step back, as if afraid of being associated with the commotion. Others leaned in, their eyes fixed on Vera's limp form.
Patrick, Leo's right-hand man, rushed forward, his face etched with worry. "Your Majesty, perhaps we should—"
But Leo was already moving, his long strides eating up the distance as he reached out to catch Vera's falling body. The crowd held its collective breath as Leo's arms closed around Vera, holding her upright as he glared at the slave traders.
The air was thick with tension, the only sound was the heavy breathing of the crowd. It was clear that Leo's patience had worn thin, and that he was on the verge of unleashing his wrath upon the slave traders.
“Who much is she?” Leo asked after cursing under his breath. Everyone was shocked, except Patrick. He had always maintained the notion that his master was nice, and to him, this was perfect proof.
No one could fathom why the king was interested in Vera when there were plenty of beautiful women.
“I asked how much she is. I want to buy her!?” Leo had repeated his question menacingly.
