Her Package

Alison's POV:

“I heard you are not cooperating!” His hoarse voice jerked me out of my thoughts, but I dared not look up. “...little bird, why are you disturbing my maids? Who are you?” he continued with his husky voice, looking at me like I was some sort of prey.

‘Little bird? That is new.’ I reasoned within myself, wondering why he gave me such a nickname. And since the air was suffocating me, I decided to voice my discomfort.

“Please, let me go! You have no right to kidnap me and handcuff me to a bed! I also demand to see the lycan king and not his grandson. I am sure he was the one who instructed you to kidnap me!” I yelled at the top of my voice, putting on a facade of confidence. But as soon as I spoke, I regretted it.

“His grandson -” the man whispered with a menacing voice, moving closer to me slowly. While Dido and Mandy giggled quietly, Sitonsia looked at me with a pitiful gaze, and this frightened me.

“What are you doing? Don't come near me! Please don't, or else I will burn you! I am a sun fairy, a descendent of the goddess of the sun!” I lied in-between gritting my teeth. The reason I lied was because I read in a novel that lycan were afraid of the sun fairy. I thought that lying would protect me from his wrath, and hopefully he would release me.

“A descendent of the sun?” The man looked genuinely shocked, and his eyes dropped. “Oh, you are Lycan's nemesis. You are totally useless to me now. I mistook you for someone else,” he mumbled thoughtfully, staring at my face.

I looked back at him, and a triumphant grin appeared on my face, “So where is the Lycan King? And you please, tell him to release me, since I am of no use to his kingdom?” I asked with a bold voice, and I paused for a minute to think about what was happening.

I couldn't explain why I was talking so confidently, but something felt different. Ever since I woke up in this new kingdom, it felt like someone had possessed me. I believed this wasn't my first time in this kingdom, and it was like I had seen this strange man somewhere else, but I couldn't remember the place.

“Ah ah ah ah!” The man burst into laughter, taunting me with his loud humiliating voice. When his laughing subsided, an evil smile appeared on his face, and he looked at me like I was his prey. “Little Bird, in this kingdom, there is but one rule; no one is allowed to leave, except if deem fit by me,” He informed me with a low menacing voice, and I shuddered in fear because of the way his lips moved.

“What do you mean? Please, release me! You said it yourself, I am of no use to you,” I muttered in disbelief, wondering if I was ever going to be free.

“Indeed, you are of no use to me, maybe I should feed you to my dragons,” he murmured thoughtfully, looking at me with squinted eyes, “Or better still, how about I sell you off to the slums.” A mischievous glint was in his eyes as he spoke.

My heart skipped and began to breathe faster. I looked at him with furrowed brows, wondering if he was joking, but the look on his face was more than convincing. The man was not joking, and I was indeed his little prey.

“Go and get the trainers, tell them to feed her to my skinniest dragon. It is better to feed her flesh to the pet than to waste it on a sword,” the man said, turning to face Dido. I expected her to be excited, but to my surprise, Dido looked at me with genuine concern. It wasn't fake, it was real….. Dido didn't want me to die.

“Hurry up, Dido! Stop delaying His Majesty,” Mandy scolded Dido, her eyes glimmering with pleasure and bloodthirsty.

“Y - yes, Your Majesty,” Dido stuttered, and bowed soberly. I looked baffled, and I couldn't help but imagine the awful way I would die.

“If I may, sire, lady Brunelle, is very fond of this Missy. It might break her heart once she hears the news,” Sitonsia murmured under her breath, just enough for the man to hear.

The man looked unbothered by what she had just said, and he furrowed his brows, wondering how that information would help or harm him. Then he remembered how annoying his sister could be when she wanted something, and he sighed desperately.

We (Sitonsia, Dido and me) thought he was about to order my release, and a sigh of relief left our lips.

“Fine, be sure to send the girl's bones to Brunelle’s garden. Not only would her land be fertilized, she would have bones to play with,” The man said. An evil smirk settled on his face as he looked at me.

I looked at him with arched brows, wondering why a young man like him had such power in the kingdom. “Who is lady Brunelle? Why are they calling him ‘Your Majesty? And who is he anyway?” I thought aloud.

If it wasn't for the fact that I am currently at his mercy, he is nothing when compared to my brother Peter. Brother Pete will easily win him in a courtesy competition, a cute competition. I doubt he can even cook. Brother Peter is the best cook I know…..right, he would only win in a handsome competition, not that Brother Peter is ugly or anything, but I must admit that this man is more good-looking,” I thought, and argued with myself internally.

The man's eyes seemed to gleam with amusement at my internal monologue, and I wondered if he could read my thoughts. I quickly looked away, trying to compose myself.

The man sighed after a few minutes of silence, and shrugged his shoulders. "Just take her away," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. He seemed to have had enough of me. "Prepare her for your Lady, Brunelle. And make sure she's presentable. I wouldn't want my sister to be disappointed."

“Yes, Your Majesty,” the three maids bowed. And although Mandy looked reluctantly to release me, she had no other choice but to remove the handcuffs.

I caught a glimpse of the man's face before he left, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of something else there, something almost like... sadness. But it was gone in an instant, and I was left wondering if I had just imagined it.
