Epilogue (Killian and Adeline)

Epilogue (Killian and Adeline)
Killian's POV

Having Adeline as my mate and Luna was probably the part of life I enjoyed most. But what I didn't sign up for? Christmas and the whole holiday family visit.

It had become a tradition, one that Adeline enjoyed so much. And as the utterly besotted mate that I was, I couldn't refuse her.

Last year had been at Solana and Marcel's pack house. The one before was at Klaus and Valerie's. She had a very large family, so we never run out of places to spend the holiday season. Every now and then, one of the kids would celebrate their birthday and my mate would drag me over. I have not recovered from the crowd that gathered here during Alex's one year old party, and also when I discovered that we were the host of this year's Christmas dinner.

It was supposed to last for just about two or three days. But now, Adeline wanted everyone to stay until new year.

Now I was currently in the lounge, together with all the adults of her family, as we played board games together. Everyone formed a team of twos, which just consisted of all the couples.

Monopoly had been Adeline's choice. Of course it was. She claimed that it was 'classic' and 'fun', but I already knew how it would go. This was not the first time we'd gathered together for monopoly. Most times, we would not finish the game as it would end in argument and blames.

And I could see that happening again.

Valerie and Klaus were together, sitting directly across from us. He looked bored already, his arm slung lazily around Valerie's chair, while she organized their money into neat piles with a focus that suggested she took this game far too seriously.

Muna and Fredrick sat to my left. Fredrick was the banker—because apparently trusting anyone else with money was a crime—while Muna leaned against him, whispering commentary that made him grin every few seconds.

Dante and Zina as a team was a disaster waiting to happen. Zina was overly enthusiastic when they got anything remotely positive, while Dante pretended to 'strategize', but we all knew he had no idea what he was doing. He was usually the first to start an argument when it was clear he was losing.

To my right was David and Aria. They were so damn quiet during board games, but we've learned the hard way not to underestimate them.

And then there was Solana and Marcel.
They sat far too close. Marcel's hand rested on Solana's thigh like it belonged there, his thumb occasionally brushing slow, absent-minded circles as if this was a casual afternoon and not a family game night. Solana leaned into him, whispering things I was certain had nothing to do with Monopoly.

Just two rounds into it, I noticed Solana and Marcel's pattern. They exchanged suspicious looks, communicating silently before they made any move. And somehow, Marcel always landed on the property Solana had been eyeing. Things were going too smoothly for them. Far too smoothly.

"There's no way you're not cheating," I pointed out, nodding my head at the couple.

They glanced at each other for a second, a silent communication passing through them before they turned to me again with faces of complete innocence and oblivion. If I didn't know better, I might think they've never heard the word 'monopoly' in their entire life.

"Stop pretending, Marcel, it doesn't look good on you," Dante called him out, shaking his head.

"We're not cheating," Solana backed her mate up, sounding so serious, I almost doubted what I saw with my eyes. "You're just jealous that the game is not going your way."

David and Aria backed Dante up, and soon, the whole room erupted with chaos as usual. I only felt bad for Valerie who was genuinely interested in the game. She was one of the few people with integrity here. She'd never cheated once in any game through the years.

Adeline snorted beside me, pressing her lips together to hide her laughter. I felt her fingers lace through mine under the table, grounding me amidst the chaos.

"Next year, we should ditch my family and go with yours." She whispered, and everyone was too busy trying to kill themselves, to overhear us. "At least, there will be peace."

"Or we'll just invite only Muna and Fredrick." My gaze flicked to the couple who seemed to have tune out the whole noise, as they were lost talking and ogling each other.

Even though I liked to complain about the loudness and chaos that usually erupt during games, a part of me—one that I loved to pretend didn't exist—always looked forward to it.

I have my own side of the family that I loved, but Christmas season with Adeline's was always so much better. It was now a tradition. A lifestyle.

The games finally ended, and we attended the compulsory daily carol rendition by Selena and Cami (she'd come with Valerie and Klaus) underthe Christmas tree.

"That's so beautiful," Valerie was the first to clap and cheer as soon they were done. "Cami, great voice. Selena, wonderful control. You girls are amazing."

We followed suit, clapping for the girls.

While we were still raining praises on them, Kameron walked to them, gifts in hand as he presented them. He gave Selena a small box that made her brighten and hug him. Then, when he turned to Cami, his face had gone all red.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Klaus watching the scene unfold with a small proud smile. His son had a crush on his Beta's daughter, but he'd rather walk on steaming oil than admit it.

"This is for you, CJ." He presented them gift to her, and Cami was only shocked for a second, before she recovered and pounced on him, tackling him to the floor.

While, the chaos ensued, I reached for Adeline's hand and led her out. The whole place was too loud that they didn't notice us sneaking away.

But I wanted to take Adeline somewhere else. Somewhere special to the both of us.

"Dinner's not over, you know?" She complained, but she didn't resist when I led her to the passenger's side of my car.

"Doesn't matter. I think I'm finally sick of your family." She let out a loud laugh when I said that. "Now, let me take you somewhere I can have you all to myself."

I didn't stop driving and Adeline didn't stop asking questions, until she inevitably recognizes the route I was taking.

"Killian?"

"It's been a while we've been here." My hand closed over hers as our fingers interlaced.

I'd brought us to the house I got her during her college days. The one that I acquired because I couldn't just stay away from her no matter how hard I tried. The one that we had so much 'firsts' in. The one in which every inch of it was filled with memories of our love.

We've not really visited this place in years, as we were busy most of our days. But I never sold it. Never considered it.

"Still so beautiful," Adeline murmured, breathless. She was not saying much, but I could see it on her face. The memories flashing through her eyes.

"I wanted to have you for myself," I said, brushing my thumb over her wrist. "And I wanted you to feel special."

She laughed, but I detected a layer of tears. Trust Adeline to cry over ever little thing. But I loved her just like that. "I'm already thinking about all the scenarios we can recreate. Oh, I'm having so many ideas. Let's go!" She took my wrist and began to drag me inside.

There was mischief on her face, and I was more than happy to find out what it signified.

But more than that? I was entranced by her smile. And I was even a lot more happy and satisfied that I was the one that put that smile on her face.

I wanted to do that everyday. For the rest of my life.

When we went into the house, I made her sit on the kitchen top, while cooked for her. Just the way I did the first time we came here together.

While I cooked, I could practically feel that heat of her eyes on my back. She was staring at me like she wanted me. Like she always wanted me.
It was not too good for my ego.

"I know you'd rather eat me instead, Mama."

Her response was a small groan, one I recognized all too well.

I ignored her and continued to cook. When the food was ready, I placed it neatly before her and watched her begin to eat.

Lord, Adeline was exquisite.

I took off my shirt and leaned over her table, grabbing her attention and forcing her to drop her spoon without having to physically reach out. "When you're done, Adeline..." I said, my voice low enough to make her shiver. "I want you in my bedroom... Let me give you a taste of what you seek."

Her jaws unhinged, as recognition passed through her eyes. Then her lips curled up in a naughty smile.

The first time I said those words to her, she'd been so shy and hiding within a shell. But now, she was on her feet, gesturing at me to take the lead.

"I am going to be needing more than a taste this time," she said, giving me a wink.

I came behind her just to spank her ass, before leaving her there and walking to the bedroom.

I sat on the bed, closed my eyes as I mentally counted the seconds before I would see her.

Six.

Five.

Four.

Three.

Two.

The door opened, and Adeline stood there in all her naked glory. Beautiful curves that fit perfectly into my palms, full breasts that made me want to bury my face in them, clean shaven pussy that made my mouth water. And my words failed me.

I could only look. And appreciate.

"You want me vulnerable, right?"

Her being vulnerable meant that that I was in control. But why the hell did I feel so damn under her spell right now?

"Come to me, Killian," Adeline said as she went on her knees. And my legs walked to her before my brain could think.

I stopped before her, running my fingers through her silky purple hair.

She was perfection.

"I love you, Mama."

Adeline opened my zipper and took my shaft into her mouth, and the galaxy exploded behind my eyes.

Somewhere in between her suction and gurgles, she responded a muffled 'I love you too'.

We were supposed to be with family, having dinners and playing games. But here we were— in the place where we'd share many first happy memories together, just to recreate the naughty parts. We were the host of the dinner, but the family will survive a few hours without us.

Because when better way to celebrate the holidays than recreating the night she first became mine?
