Chapter 24
Roxanne
The next morning, I woke up and started feeling guilty. I wasn't particularly sure why I felt that way, but I knew it had something to do with me always losing my control whenever I was touched by Derek. Last night was another confirmation that I couldn't stand a look from the man without losing my mind.
Every touch by him seemed like it was destined to happen. It was as if our bodies were halves of a whole that needed each other to be complete again. Thinking about it gave me a sensitive awareness of my own body. My mind flew back to how he dominated my body completely last night. Pictures of those sensual scenes started coming back to me and I was beginning to feel really warm beneath me.
Instantly, I heard some sounds coming from outside the villa. I quickly brought myself back to the present. I thought I was mistaken at first, but then I heard the voices better as I listened. There were also busy footsteps going forth and back. What is going on? I said out loud.
It couldn't be that a new set of vampires came back, could it? Since the previous ones capitalized on not announcing their arrival, that seemed unlikely. Besides, the noise I heard sounded too disorganized to be from a coordinated vampire attack. I picked up Derek's voice among the whole chaos. It made me even more confused.
I got off the bed and put some clothes on my nude body. I made my way outside to see what was really going on. When I got outside, I was thrown into complete surprise by what I saw.
"What's going on here?" I stopped and asked one of the uniformed guys that were walking around, busy with some kind of task. The uniformed guys were dressed like hotel staff.
Before the man could answer, Derek was already before me, smiling in the usual way that he now did whenever he set his eyes on me. Standing next to him made me feel a little bit exposed. I was suddenly conscious of the fact that I had no underwear under the night garment I hurriedly put on.
"Good morning," he said. He signaled to the man I had stopped and started questioning. The man nodded and left immediately.
"Morning." I said, hoping that I was able to hide my shyness better than I felt.
Derek took advantage of the situation. He scanned my whole body from head to toe. His eyes lingered on the area between my chest and it made me flush with redness. He smiled again. He was doing this to me intentionally. I hated how easily he was able to make me flusterred.
"Well, what's going on here?" I demanded, trying to quickly shift his focus away from me before I melted away completely under his gaze.
I shifted instinctively as he walked closer to me only to find out that he had a different intention different from what I thought. He stood next to me so that our shoulders were beside each other. He gestured with his hands as he spoke,
"Everyone you see is here for you." He said.
"What do you mean by that?" I was even more confused.
"They are here to do whatever you want them to do," he explained. "The guys in white uniforms are all on the chef's team. You can order them to get you any meal you want, consider it done. You can give it a try, don't be restricted," he turned in my direction as he said the last bit.
Then he continued, "There are also guys from the spa. They are going to provide you with massage services and every other thing you need them to do."
He pointed to some guys that are assembled in a corner of the living room, "These ones are from a top clothing brand. You don't need to go shopping, they'd bring any kind of designer clothes you want for you."
He smiled again, now with a show of satisfaction. I stared blankly at him for a brief moment. Saying that I was dumbfounded was an understatement of how I felt. I was speechless. What had Derek done? Why on earth would he bring all these people like I was some kind of a princess in a castle. This wasn't what we started with. Hell, he wasn't like this a week ago when he threatened me with my father's sins and told me I was going to pay for them.
Now, I really needed to know what was going on.
"Derek? What's really going on? This is insane."
"What do you mean? You explained to me why you didn't want to go out. So, I thought I should bring everything to you."
Momentarily, I couldn't say anything. I could only sigh as a reaction to his words.
"Don't you like these ones?" He asked. "If there's something you don't like, point it out and it will be changed immediately." He went on and on.
Why was he making this harder than it was already. Didn't he get it? He'd made it clear that there was only one way we could end up, and it was with me finally atoning for my father's sin. He was a fucking werewolf! I wonder if these people knew that before they agreed to his request to come to the villa. My family's way of life was hunting his kind until they killed them. Why was he doing this?
"It's not that," I told him. "I just don't understand you anymore. You made it clear to me what this relationship was all about. We're never going to be lovers. I was never going to fall in love with you. Why are you suddenly making that harder for me than it is? I'm confused. Our relationship is only based on a contract, or have you forgotten that?"
I noticed an abrupt change in his demeanor immediately after I said the words to him. He took his time before he replied.
"I'm aware of what our relationship is based on. You don't need to remind me, I initiated the contract. I'm only trying to tailor you to my taste. If you're going to be in any form of relationship with me for the next couple of years, you should look the part."
His words stung me like pins on my bare skin. But how could I be surprised, this is the real Derek. All he had been doing so far was just a facade.
"I don't care! I'm going back to school!" I yelled so loudly that everyone around stopped and turned their heads in our direction.
"Everyone is dismissed. Effectively immediately. You all should pack and leave." Derek announced, and the whole crew started moving their things out of the villa.
Derek pulled me away until we were alone. Then he carried me on his shoulders and took me to the empty room.
"You're not going anywhere until I say so." He barked at me as he dropped me to the floor. He locked the door to the room and left.
For the rest of that day, Derek left me in the empty room and didn't bother to show up at all. I knew the last of the crews had left when the villa was thrown back into its usual silence. Very early the next day, I heard him on a phone call, and it seemed like something urgent needed his attention.
Soon after the call, the door came open and Derek was standing at the door. "You've got to understand that you have no other choice than to obey me." He said gently.
"No!" I yelled. "What we have between us is only a sexual contract. You can use my body however you want but you don't own my freedom." I shot back at him.
I could see that he was a little thrown aback by my quick reply. Anger had risen high in him, and it was evident by the expression on his face. I was quietly satisfied with the little victory I just had. He left where he was standing at the entrance and walked closer to me to pick me up.
I felt helpless by how easily he was able to pick me up. He took me to the bedroom and threw me on the bed. He was back to himself now, I said to myself. He was going to molest me again as he previously did. This version of Derek I understood, not the one saying and doing nice things to me. That version was confusing and difficult to understand.
He positioned his body over mine as I lay helplessly on the bed. He got so close that our bodies were almost touching each other. I hated that my body was already reacting to the proximity between us. I noticed that he saw it too.
To my surprise, Derek got up, left me a cold sneer and walked out of the room.
