Chapter 55 - Mark me

Sarah.

I am happy that I at least succeeded in making him agree to allow Mary to stay at the mansion. But we do have an important mission which is to keep Mary away from Milano's dad. I have asked Bella to prepare the guest room for Mary. It's the same guest room me and Teddy have been using. It's already been cleaned but still, I wanted to make sure that Mary will be comfortable there. I first took Mary for a tour of the mansion. On the way, I introduced her to Milano's mother and grandma. They were happy to welcome her but were also worried about Milano's father.

Mary promised to stay in her room while Mr Raymond was home. Luckily he was not at the mansion and would be returning only in the evening. So, showing her around was easy. I introduced her to all the workers of the mansion, especially to Pamila and Bella. I then took her to the guest room.

“This is your room and if you need anything you can ask Bella or Pam. Just give me a ring if you need me.” I said,

“Sarah, I don't know how to thank you. I am a witch and it's not easy for me to enter the premises of the Raymond family to meet Liam. Now I can see my husband every day.” She said,

“You will have to go back to your home to get your things, right? I will ask the driver to drop you at your place.” I asked.

“I am a witch and I don't need any help to travel. We can just go anywhere with magic. By anywhere I mean the places where I am not prohibited. This mansion has been prohibited for me until you got permission from the Alpha to allow me to stay here. Now I can go to my house from this room itself. But I would prefer to do that when I am alone.” She said,

“Okay, then I will take your leave. You can go and get your things.” I said,

“Wait Sarah, I wanted to ask you something. The chain and pendant you showed me last time, does it belong to your mother?” She asked.

“I don't know. But as per what grandma said it might be my mother's. Why did you ask?”

“I don't know Sarah, but I have a strange feeling. Have you ever worn it?” She asked.

“No, I have never. I just want to keep it as my mother's memory.” I said,

“You should wear it. There is something about that pendant which I can't make out clearly. Just wear it for a few days.” She said,

“Okay, I'll do that. Please take care and don't forget to lock the door. I don't want anyone to disturb you.” I said before leaving the room.

I went straight to the third floor. All my belongings are now kept in Milano's room next to Teddy's room. Milano has arranged his closet so that I can keep my things. I opened the bag with my mother's belongings. Inside the bag, there is a small pocket in which I had kept the chain. I took it out and wore it standing in front of the mirror. A strange sensation went through my whole body. I just ignored it and went out. I first wanted to check on Teddy but then changed my mind. I will first check on Milano.

When I reached his room, I heard someone talking from his room. I stood outside the room and tried to hear their conversation. I can't just peek inside as there are chances of getting caught. From the voice of the man, I understood that he is one of Milano's Gamma.

“It was a rogue attack, alpha.”

“Did you confirm it?” Milano asked.

“Yes, the one in our custody confirmed it. But they don't have a leader. Edwin is trying to get more information from him. We yet don't know if it's a planned attack or not.” The man said,

“It's a planned attack and they were sent by someone related to Sarah. They wanted me to keep my distance from Sarah.” Milano's words gave me the answers to all my doubts.

If he was being attacked because of me, then I should be the one leaving him. No, that won't solve the problem. He is distancing himself from me just because of the attack. If he loves me and I am really his mate, then he should be protecting me keeping me close to him. I didn't have any patience left and so barged inside the room without knocking. Milano and his Gamma looked towards me at the same time. I looked straight at Gamma and said in an authoritative tone.

“Get out.”

He didn't even wait for Milano's permission before leaving the room. I closed the door and locked it. Then walked slowly toward Milano. He is sitting on the bed resting his back on the headboard of the bed. He smiled at me as if to hide his nervousness.

“Do you have to say something?” I asked.

“No,” He replied.

“But I have a lot to say and ask. Are you ready to answer?” I asked.

“Sarah, we can talk once I get better.” He said,

“Why? Your tongue is not injured or else you won't be able to talk to your Gamma.”

He laughed at my words.

“If you think I am joking, then it's good for you. But I am not going to give up. I don't care if I am your Luna or not. For me, my son is my foremost priority and he will always be. Actually, I even agreed to be with you because you were ready to accept my son as yours even before finding out that he is your own son. You said that I am your mate and brought me back. You felt the mate bond and not me. It was a new feeling. I felt attracted to you in the beginning. Then I began to like you and soon I realized that I don't just like you, I love you. For the first time, I wanted to be with you not because of Teddy but because I wanted to be with you. I thought you would be with me through thick and thin. I didn't know that you were a coward.” I panted and stopped to take a breath.

“I am glad that you have opened up about your feelings. I know that Teddy is your priority and I am happy that my son got a mother like you. You are my mate and one day you will be my Luna. Thank you for telling me that you love me. I love you too sweetheart. I never said that I won't always be there for you whenever you need me. Why did you call me a coward? What did I do?” He asked.

“I have been asking you about the attack. And you just ignored my questions as if I mean nothing to you. You discussed everything with your Gamma but can't even tell me the truth. I had to eavesdrop on your conversation to find out the truth. You were attacked because of me. Now you don't want to be with me because the attackers warned you to stay away from me. Doesn't that make you a coward?” I asked.

“You have totally misunderstood me. I was not telling you about the attack because I thought you would feel bad when you got to know that we were attacked because of you. I was afraid that you might leave me because I got attacked in your name. I am not the only one who got you as a mate. There is a whole Kingdom waiting for you. Then how will I believe that you won't leave me.” His eyes backed his words.

“So you didn't want to reject me?” I asked.

‘“Why would I even think of rejecting you? I didn't want to make you upset. I thought you would blame yourself for our wounds. I never knew that you would think of me as a coward.” He said,

I had already reached near his bed. He caught my hand and pulled me, making me fall on him. My upper body is now over him and I tried to get up but he didn't leave my hand. I tried to touch the floor with my feet so that I could stand up. But my legs were in the air. I am at least not putting weight on his injured leg.

“Milano, let me go. You are hurt.”

He suddenly flipped me to the other side of the bed. Now I am on the bed and he is towering over me. He lowered his head and our lips nearly met. I closed my eyes and waited for his lips to meet mine. When nothing happened for some time, I opened my eyes. He is still over me watching me intently. I looked at him with slightly parted lips hoping that those lips would crash with mine anytime.

“Sarah, you are so beautiful. You have no idea how my heart broke when I saw the mate bond between you and Mr Buchanan. I thought I lost you. I have never been this much desperate for anyone before. You are going to be my end.” He whispered.

“Milano, Mark me.” I suddenly said,

“What?” He looked at me with widened eyes.

“You heard me right, my love. Mark me and make yours forever.” I repeated.

Milano backed away from me and sat up on the bed. His breathing was becoming shallow and he began to sweat. I didn't say anything wrong. Then why is he upset?

“Milano, did I ask you for a lot? I don't want to lose you. The only way I can be yours forever is by marking. Mark me, Milano.” I said,

“You have no idea what you are asking for will change your very existence. You are not a werewolf and it's going to be really painful as you are a human. You know I can't cause you pain. I love you Sarah but I can't be selfish to hurt you. You don't have to choose a life you don't want to. You can continue to be a human until you are ready to embrace a new life. There is no hurry. I want you to be ready both physically and mentally before I mark you. I want to make it special for you. It shouldn't be a way to escape from the problems. The day I mark you, the whole world will know that you are mine.”

His words would have been perfect if the situation was different. I can't wait too long for such a day to come. This is the best time and I have to make him do what I want.

“Milo, I understand everything you said. But, I can't wait. I don't want to live in fear that I would be taken by someone I don't love. I want to embrace the moment of ecstasy now. I am ready to accept a new life both physically and mentally. I just want you and no one else. I want to show the world that I belong to you. I don't need anyone else's consent for this moment to happen. Just me and you. I promise I won't feel any pain but just pleasure. Won't you give me that pleasure?” I asked.

He pushed me back on the bed and got over me. His eyes showed lots of emotions and slowly changed their color. He lowered his head and kissed me hard until we both went out of breath. When he raised his head, he had fangs. My eyes widened at the scene but I know I can't back out. I assured him with a blink of my eyes. He removed my hair from the sides and slowly lowered his head to the crook of my neck. Slowly he bit me and I could feel his fangs piercing my skin, making the mark which is going to change my life. I closed my eyes, enjoying the pain to the level of ecstasy.
