Chapter 82- Surprise For His Luna
Derrick’s POV
Salara and I have spent the last thirty-six hours locked away in our suite making love to each other over and over with only breaks for napping and eating. I am almost reluctant to let her out of our suite, but if we don’t make our way out of the door soon then we will miss out on everything that Charles and my mother have worked so hard to put together so quickly.
“What time will the twins be shifting for the first time?” Salara’s voice from the bathroom pulls me back to the fact that we are about to be late for her Luna Ceremony. She emerges from the bathroom wearing an all white knee length dress that hugs every one of her curves in the most delightful of ways.
The sight of her takes my breath away. I stand there in the middle of our bedroom, staring at the ethereal sight standing before me. Never before have I seen a woman as beautiful as her in all of my life. Her dark looks compliment her all white attire perfectly and I can feel my cock getting hard in my shorts just looking at her.
She stops right outside of the bathroom door, her eyes fixed on me in question. “You are so beautiful.” I whisper out to her before making my way over to where she is standing in the center of the doorway.
Arousal flashes in her eyes, increasing with every step that I take in her direction, her eyes watching me like a predator stalking its prey. Her scent slams into me the moment that I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her in flush with my chest. She looks up at me, revealing her flushed cheeks and dilated eyes.
‘Everything is set and ready to go, Alpha.’ A curse escapes from under my breath, amusing Salara as she pulls herself away from me. After taking a step back from her to create some distance, I give her a sheepish smile to which she returns with a loving gaze.
“We have our whole lives in front of us, my Alpha.” Hearing those words from her lips pulls at my heart, making me feel hopeful for the future, but there was still a feeling of doom settled at the back of my mind that will not go away.
It is because of this sense of urgency that I find myself rushing to get Salara out of the door and out back where the stage has been set for her Luna ceremony. I really hope that this doesn’t scare her away from me.
Every pack member that we pass on our way towards the kitchen smiles and tries to hide their knowing looks from Salara. Everyone was informed that the ceremony was to remain a secret from her and like the amazing pack that they are, they have gone out of their way not to let anything slip.
Meredith stops us when we enter the kitchen, tears shining in her eyes when she takes in the sight of my dark haired beauty glued to my side. She lifts her hands out in an open position in front of her as she makes her way towards us. The moment she reaches our side, she pulls Salara into a warm embrace.
Smiling brightly at the older woman, Salara willingly leaves my side and allows the head Omega to pull her into her tight embrace. “You look so beautiful, dear Luna.” She whispers into her ear, causing a bright smile to spread across that beautiful face of hers. I promise on everything that I have that I will ensure that that bright smile never leaves her face as long as there is life left in my being.
Tears sparkle in Salara’s eyes when she finally escapes the tight embrace of Meredith. Pulling away from us, she smoothes out her knee length dress, giving Hunter and I a wink before returning back to her duties in the kitchen.
“Why is there so much food?” Salara’s eyes widen as she looks around at all of the dishes laid out across the counters and the large table located off to the side. “I don’t remember there being this much food at the last full moon.” She scans the many dishes hungrily, her brows creasing together as she tries to recall the last full moon.
Memories of that time where she rejected me in front of most of my pack weighs heavily in my mind, so I decide to steer her away from those thoughts and begin to drag her towards the back door in order to head outside.
My hand hesitates on the door handle, causing Salara to look up at me in question, worry poking at her delicate features. Sudden nerves take hold of me, forcing me to look in her direction to gauge her feelings. Swallowing the lump that has formed in the back of my throat, I open my mouth to speak.
“You are the best thing that has ever happened to me Salara and I would be the happiest man in all of the worlds if you would agree to be mine for all eternity.” A brief look of hesitation appears on her features before they smooth away and are replaced by her loving smile.
Lifting her hand up to cup my cheek, she stands on tip toes so she can place a gentle kiss to my lips. “I will never walk away from you ever again, my Alpha.” The truth of her words slam into me through our bond, coming from both her and her wolf. For some reason, feeling love from Leigh takes away a large weight that has been weighing on my shoulders.
I pull her in close to my chest and slam my lips against hers in a fiercely possessive kiss that portrays all of the love that I feel for her inside. The sounds of sniffling from behind us draws me back to the fact that we are not alone in the kitchen, and we have a Luna Ceremony to attend. “Are you ready?” I ask her, holding my hand out for her to take.
With a nod of her head, she reaches over to open the back door, revealing the backyard that has been lit up by thousands of fairy lights that have been scattered across the yard. Salara’s eyes widen in surprise and aww as she looks around the beautifully decorated backyard. Charles and my mother really went all out to make this ceremony special for my Luna.
The lights put out around us dance in Salara’s eyes, each movement of hers catching the different colored lights and reflecting brightly. Everyone in attendance stands around, allowing her the moment that she needs to take in the decorated surroundings.
Apart from the various fairy lights that are placed throughout the large gazebo, tiki torches have also been placed around the stage, providing more light. After her eyes scanned over the area a couple of times, she turned to look at me with a question in her eyes. “What is all of this?”
Nerves crash into me once again, the fear of her rejecting me in front of my whole pack causing sweat to break out above my brow. I struggle with finding the words to say to her, causing me to stand there like an idiot with my mouth opening and closing like a lunatic.
‘For the love of the Goddess!’ Hunter’s annoyed voice fills my mind moments before he takes control of my body and grabs hold of our mate to pull her in close. “What the annoying human is failing to say is that we would like nothing more than for the world to know that you are our Luna and we hope you will accept the two of us and our pack.”
Tears glisten in Salara’s eyes, catching the lights around us more and making her eyes shine brightly. She breaks her eyes away from mine to look over the crowd gathered around us, giving her encouraging looks as they wait with bated breath for her response.
When her eyes turn back towards Hunter and I, I can tell that it is her wolf that is on the surface, and that fact sends more nerves to rush through my system. Happiness dances within her silver/green eyes, easing some of the fear that has claimed me. She moves herself closer to my side and wraps her arms around my neck, pulling me in close.
“I have lived many lifetimes, my young Alpha.” Her lips brush against mine, teasing me with each word that she speaks. My heart stutters in my chest loudly as we wait for her to continue speaking. Her hand moves up to brush along my cheek in a loving way. “You have awakened a spark in me that I thought was long dead.” Her head cocks to the side and I watch as she gives control back to Salara.
“There was never any question about accepting you and our pack.” Relief spreads through me, resulting in the muscles that had tensed up to relax. Leaning down, I place my lips gently against hers, drowning out the sounds of cheering coming from my pack members around us.
