Chapter 95 Finally married

Chapter 95 Finally married
95\. Finally Married

Love, the most confusing feeling in the world. While it seems complicated it has flourished the lives of many. When you acquire it, you feel like you have conquered the whole world.

The four letter word can let you win the hearts of people and achieve contentment. All you need to take care of is— persist. The ones who persist the tests of time, cross the obstacles life had to offer you while you struggle to get your love, come out as the ultimate victor. The undefeated.

Similar feelings surged through Damien. Standing in one of the famous churches in Manhattan, St. Patrick's Church right in front of the priest, he gritted upsettingly.

Dressed in inky black shade, he looked sinfully tempting like a living sculpture standing in the front positions in a boutique. Anyone and everyone who set their gaze on the alpha gasped as they wished to look at him the whole day and run their hands over his body.

However, the pissed looks didn't sit well on his sexy face. He was impatiently waiting for his bride.

'Brian, what's taking you guys so long?' Mind linking with his beta, Alpha Damien expelled a loud breath.

Each second felt like a decade. The chaplain glanced at him and smiled thinking how restless he was being. But the alpha couldn't care less. He continued to entertain tight expressions on his countenance irrespective of the fact that he was THE GROOM as he held his horses until his beta answered.

'On our way, Damien. Don't be so fcking pungent in public. You are the groom, idiot. Just be patient and smile if the cameras catch your eyes. We will be there soon.' Brian replied.

Alpha Damien sucked a deep breath and flexed his shoulders. He almost forgot that at the last moment his wedding turned into a public affair, which was supposed to be private with only a few close friends like family members. It happened when his administrator that deals with the public affairs in the pack approached him with bundles of letters containing good wishes from the members of his pack.

The messages were emotional. It was the realization that dawned on him that lead him to announce his christian wedding ceremony as public and conduct it under the scrutiny of the wellwishers who expressed their desires of witnessing their Alpha1 as he recited the solemn vows of matrimony with his fiance.

Oh yeah, not including that Aurora was still a mysterious fiance the world was yet to meet. The funny part was when the news channels projected a black figure beside the alpha as his fiance all these days since he announced his marriage in public at a conference. Damien and her laughed a lot, relishing the news as it spread like wildfire across the globe.

His lips curved at the recollection. Damien was lost in their chiming laughs that had buzzed in the drawing room two days ago. His golden eyes were grazing the feet of the priest standing motionlessly in front of him when he noticed some commotion taking place at his back.

The entrance of the church was crowded. It could not be Aura, he reckoned, for he just confirmed with Brian that they were on their way.

Alpha Damien didn't have to dive deep in his thoughts as all the important people the invitation was sent to have arrived. They were sitting in the many benches with other witnesses who had gathered today.

Alpha Damien's throat suddenly tightened as he observed a person resembling a graceful personality just like his own walk about the aisle towards him.

"D-dad?" It was a punch in his gut.

His father, the former alpha was here— at his son's wedding.

"I didn't think you would ever come to my wedding," He said, his voice laced with emotions.

His hands automatically went around his father's shoulder. Damien crushed him in a tight hug. His wolf squealed merrily in his chest. They were meeting each other after so long. Almost after four months, apparently! For they never crossed each other's path after that day in Rosario's office.

Considering Aura's status and his father's opinion towards low class wolves, Damien never anticipated his arrival. He thought his father would never come. Aurora was the daughter of his servants. He intended to send her away, out of this pack, because he didn't want to take her responsibilities once her parents sacrificed their lives for his own. But Damien ceased her deportation and now he was marrying her. He was marrying a housekeeper. That is how it was in his perspective, wasn't it?

His father smacked his lips with the same thoughts lingering on his mind. He was forced to smile as his eyes softened. He hugged Damien tight like this was a goodbye hug, taking his breaths as well as composure away.

"You are my son, Damien. How can I not come? I was never there in your difficult times as a father. It would be a shame if I missed the best day of your life. Moreover," He stepped away to flash a grin. "It has come to my notice you are marrying the woman you love. I am happy for you, son."

Damien tried to smile but emotions ceased his movements. Except his eyes watered. Those eyes he inherited from his father.

He couldn't contain his happiness that his father was here for his wedding. Which only meant he was accepting Aurora as his daughter in law. When the thoughts of his mother disturbed his other thoughts, he couldn't control his eyes from shedding some tears of despair.

She didn't come. In fact, she didn't acknowledge his invitation either, unlike his father who clearly wrote back that he would see through his schedule and let him know. But he himself came to his further message.

Alpha Damien's smoldering eyes collided with the floor at his feet. He didn't discuss it with anyone but he was hopeful that both of his parents would come. How could his own mother leave his wedding as an option?!

Wasn't she thrilled to meet the woman who was going to be his constant?

"Erm," His father patted his arm amidst disturbing thoughts. "Celine rang me two days ago. She was asking me whether I would join your wedding or not. She told me she would."

Damien's face lit up hearing those intriguing words. "She did?"

Just then they heard noise from the crowd and the same commotion that arose some minute back over his father's visit. And there… his mother, Luna Celine, gave her appearance. She was not alone, her husband aka the neighbouring alpha and the stepson were beside her.

There was a grin on her face that spoke of her exhilaration.

"Congratulations, son." She said.

Damien's eyes sparkled with zeal. He couldn't believe his own eyes. She came and stood beside his father and stared at him once before she turned around to take her new husband's hand. His father rolled his eyes over their portrayal of public affection and twisted his lips.

It was funny to see them both acting cold towards each other. One thing was certain, they loved Damien despite their separation. That was what that mattered to him.

"Mom," Was all Damien could utter.

"How can I miss your marriage, Damien… You are a part of my body. I may have replaced my husband, you are irreplaceable. My baby." She engulfed him in her embrace and Damien happily hugged her back.

The whole room witnessed their reunion. Awestruck gazes watched the alpha reconcile with his family and shed tears that made him look gorgeous. That moment, his respect as the alpha of the pack elevated in the eyes of the public. Whoever saw him, pouted at the display of cute expression he had on his face.

Unknown to the heightening admiration of the people around, Damien sobbed as a kid. He missed this woman a lot. They spend very little time together. Still, whatever it was, it was the best of all the memories in his childhood.

"My blessings are with you, son, I would still disagree with your choice of woman." Her words made Damien stare at her irritatingly.

Not his father but his mother seemed to extend the sour side of their love story and remind him of Aura's background.

"You could have got yourself a good match, Damien. Someone sophisticated. Someone hotter and sexier than that houseke—"

"Now I wish you didn't invite this high-maintenance woman, Damien." His father's soft yet curt tone hindered her complaint.

He passed his ex-wife a bored look and continued, "For heaven's sake, Celine, do not destroy his day now. He wouldn't have gotten anyone other than betrayal if he married a sophisticated aka high-maintenance woman— like you." That was a taunt.

"Let him be. Do not forget that we are here to share his happiness. Don't make him regret sending an invitation to you." He added.

Luna Celine was about to lash back while her second husband frowned. Her darkened eyes promptly softened as the crowd whispered about the arrival of the bride. Aura was here.

"Now now… let's take our seats and let him adore his bride." His father asserted as he detached himself from the crowd to sit in the empty space in the first row.

Outside the church,

As the car came to halt, paparazzi surrounded them. Flashlights blinked from all the four sides. Brian and Rosario protected the women. They helped them come out of the vehicle carefully while Rosario's bodyguard cleared a way for them.

"You are slaying, woman." Ginny helped Aura with her dress and winked at her.

"The reporters are bewitched by your beauty. Now I am more into thinking about the magazine's and tomorrow's newspapers for the headlines." Aura's cheeks burned.

She lowered her eyes as she felt a tingling feeling rise in her stomach. All of a sudden she was weak. Her feet wouldn't move on their accord. She was glad to have Madam Martha and Ginny for they dragged her by themselves.

"Hold onto your heart, sexy lady, you are about to meet your groom." With this, Ginny and Madam Martha strode further, taking Aura into the atmosphere coming straight out of her dreamland.

Inside the church,

Damien sighed looking at the entrance. There was no sign of her though he could smell her.

'Ugh, I think I am gonna die waiting.' He heaved and closed his eyes.

Just then murmurs erupted in the room. There were praises of adoration and astounded cries rising in the hall. Damien's eyes escalated at the view of the crowd singing praises as they stared at the entrance.

"My god, i-is this my Aurora? My bride?" He shuddered intensely.

She was dressed in a white wedding gown and looked like an angel. His angel. Alpha Damien's angel jumping right out of his dreams into his reality.

"Gosh, t-there are s-so many people,"

She was taken aback by the large number of individuals who had come to share their joy. She took her time walking down the aisle, as she lowered her thrilled gaze. The guests turned to smile while appreciating her immeasurable beauty.

She noticed his parents in the first row and stopped to greet them. The crowd loved Aurora for her manners.

"Dear, go to your groom; he's waiting for you." Luna Celine gave her a warm smile.

She didn't like Aurora since she wasn't up to their standards. Her simple gesture of kindness made her appreciate Aura even more. She was looking like a goddess of peace.

Damien's breath skipped seeing her majestic persona. He forwarded his hand and she happily accepted it.

He was totally drowned in her beauty. He was gawking at her shamelessly without blinking his eyes whereas Aura lowered her face to hide her burning cheeks.

The chaplain was standing there, waiting for their attention but the alpha wouldn't stop drinking her beauty. Thus he coughed loudly in order to get his attention and smiled. Damien looked at him and grinned sheepishly.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered together here in sight of God, and in the face of this congregation, to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony,"

Aura tried to concentrate on the chaplain's words, but she couldn't wait to escape and be alone with Damien.

"Into which holy estate these two persons present come now to be joined. Therefore if any man can show any just cause why they may not lawfully join together, let him or her now speak, or else hereafter forever hold his peace.... "

The chaplain waited, scanning the gathering for anybody who might have a problem with their marriage. Damien and Aura swung around to see whether anyone had gotten up. No one did; in fact, they were showering them with adoring gazes.

"Since there is no objection to this matrimony, under the presence of all the witnesses and the lord," Damien held her hand under the thick cover of her gown while the priest continued further..

He locked their fingers together looking straight at the priest. When she took a glance at his face she lost her breath. He was standing in all his glory and with determination that curled her toes.

His side profile was killer. Aura cannot help but lift her eyes and stare at her groom. Alpha Damien was temptation personified. She couldn't care less about the crowd behind her back, watching them with a careful scrutiny as they proceeded towards taking their views.

Her heart raced. They have promised all of themselves to each other eternally so many times before. Aura took plight standing before god as she observed Damien look into her eyes and swear before the creator.

"I, Damien Hunter, take you, Aurora Collins, to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life."

She controlled the water in her eyes and widened her lips into a smile. It was her turn to repeat the words and prison him in her cage.

"I, Aurora Collins, take you, Damien Hunter, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life."

"You have declared your consent before the Church. May the Lord in his goodness strengthen your consent and fill you both with his blessings. That God has joined, man must not separate. Amen." Crowd cheered as the priest blessed them.

They exchanged rings in a joyful atmosphere. Everyone who was present trembled, witnessing the Alpha and his bride graze each other with utter love and care. It was as if they were made for each other. Just as they joined their foreheads and sniffed amidst happy tears, everyone's heart sank. They were made for each other.

The display of affection they depicted unintentionally towards each other showed their strong bond. The way his hands held her waist and how she clutched at his shoulders provided a small glimpse of struggles the alpha and his bride may have gone through.

The world was unaware of their love story, they could notice there was a story that was worth being told.

"Now might be the good time to kiss each other and begin the adventure of marriage," Having been declared as man and wife together just as the preacher stepped away, Alpha Damien yanked Aura to his chest and sealed their lips.

"Happy birthday, Mrs. Hunter," He whispered before joining their mouths again.
