Chapter 89 Innocent heart still beating for others' wellbeing

Chapter 89 Innocent heart still beating for others' wellbeing
89\. Innocent heart still beating for others' wellbeing

"Damien cast Ginny out of the pack?!"

Aura was unable to believe her ears. It sounded like an on-spot made up story. But she trusted Rosario with her life and knew he would never do that. However, that is whatever exactly he told her as their lunch arrived.

"He was so mad that he wanted to execute her or worse, throw her in the dungeons where she would have been assaulted by the cops mercilessly. Then something else got into him and he decided to disown her and throw her out of the pack." Aura cannot unhear Rosario's words he had communicated with her in the restaurant.

The evening sky was casting a hue over the horizon. The grass in the garden before the mansion danced in the tranquility of the twilight breeze. She saw little birds flying back to their nests as she tried to not decline her mood.

Damien had every reason to do that. It was not a harsh punishment but still deep down Aura cannot accept it.

Ginny was born here. Her memories attached with this place would forever be a part of her that she was being forced to leave behind. Not to forget it was still a mystery where she was going.

"Rosario provided every information regarding Ginny's leave but didn't tell me where. Damien won't tell me either. He will act insane if I raised her topic for a discussion." She spoke to herself.

She wanted to distract her mind by cooking him food but Madam Martha declined her. She sent Aurora back to her room to rest. There was everything but peace available at the moment. Her mind was a chaos of several thoughts ste could not keep at bay.

Aura came out of her room. She stopped near the kitchen. The kitchen staff was cleaning the counter. They smiled at her and answered her query regarding Madam Martha's location. She quickly sprinted to the rear garden where she found the old woman sitting quietly on a chair set for her, absorbing the evening sunlight as she admired the view with brewing coffee.

"Enjoying the evening breeze, Ma," Madam Martha smiled widely.

She shared a warm grin along a tightly set face that spoke of her exhaustion. She was old yet she worked no less than the young members in the staff. It was this lady why the mansion restored its beauty as the Alpha's abode.

"Yeah, you know how much I love sunset." Madam Martha patted an empty chair beside her.

She smiled brightly as if she was expecting Aura. The two of them stared straight at the lowering orange sun with mild gaze.

They were enjoying the song of retreating birds until Aura faced the old Housekeeper as she was no longer able to keep the turmoil of Ginny's deportation.

"Did you know about Ginny's drive out?" Aura gently uttered.

"Yeah, Damien involved me in her case." Her reply made Aura's back erect.

So, she was correct. Her mother was cognizant of Ginny's deportation. Aurora's eyes brightened as she curiously leaned towards her.

"What do you know about her, Ma? Where is she being ported to?" She inquired desperately.

Madam Martha distracted her eyes from the setting sun with a tight face. It was visible that she didn't want to talk about it. Aura still pressed her further with her curious eyes while her fingers clutched at her long sleeve like a kid wanting to know about his Christmas present before the eve.

"There is so much he's planned to do to her but eventually he declared sending her away would be better. I can't tell you where because I don't know about it either. But wherever it is, Damien has assured me she will be happy as she's being provided all that a woman would need for a living. Don't worry about her, dear." The old lady finished.

However, Aura was not convinced. She was not happy about the fact that Ginny was being exiled. Removed from her bornland to a place she may not be able to sustain.

She had been a well known model too. There may be perverted males who would want to seek advantage of her condition and assault her physically.

The tag of being the Alpha's ex-girlfriend would be enough for the entire male community to hit on her. She's made herself desirable just by being one of the Alpha's lovers. Hence, with or without her compliance they may coerce her to share a bed with them.

It was not for Aurora to think about it. Ginny was a woman who knew what she had done in the past, and now she was paying off according to her karma. She was still a woman. A helpless one at that, at the moment. She definitely one hundred damn percent deserved all the lashing and sufferings she was receiving right now, still Aura felt like she deserved a chance.

"Look, you have better things to think about beside them who meant to harm you. Don't stress yourself and go rest." Madam Martha's voice rung like a bees humming in her ears.

Just that… unlike the actual soothing at hearing, it was steely and expressing her dismay.

Aura didn't stretch the matter forward. She quietly rose and left without a word. Talking to Madam Martha would be useless for she was madder at her tormentors than herself. Her motherly instincts overruled her emotions and she wouldn't support Aurora with her intentions.

There was just one person who was capable of listening to her motives like she desired to be heard— Damien. He could be disappointed, but he'd pay attention to her.

The dinner was set on the table and Aura was waiting for him. They just talked on the phone and Damien said he was on his way. He was hungry and requested the food to be set on the table so that he can just sink in his chair and dig in the food.

"Thirty minutes and he is still not here!" Aura impatiently drummed her nails on the table before her empty plate.

She was starving. Her baby wanted food but she wished to wait for his daddy to come for all the dishes prepared today were his favorite. A healthy creamy dill shrimp salad beside spiced beef and cool red wine was waiting for him. There was also Spanish-style chicken paella with meatballs. Aura found her mouth watering at its sight.

"He will be here any minute, honey, I suggest you start eating your food." Madam Martha was sitting in a chair opposite Aurora.

She insisted her to start with her meal and that Damien would join her soon after he arrived but she politely smiled and said she would wait. Aura was dying to see him. Her mood swings made her yearn for his presence and shuddering touch. She wanted him beside her every moment.

With her chin pressing deep in the space of her palm, Aura longingly stared at the head of the family's chair. Her mind mirrored his image there hence escalating her hunger.

(Fifteen minutes later)

"That's enough. I ain't no waiting one minute longer. I am done." The servants reacted with gasps as they observed her aggressively slap her hands on the table and rise.

Madam Martha attempted to stop her. She turned deaf ears to her plea and advanced to her room. She slammed the door behind her and sunk in the couch.

"No messages, no replies… What does he think of himself?" She folded her arms and grunted.

"If he was going to be late he could have told me. It has been more than an hour since I have been waiting for him. I am starting to despise your father, baby." She reduced her hands to her belly and caressed it.

"Did he forget that he has a family waiting for him at home? I am so bloody done with him. We won't talk to your father now. And don't you even try to convince me to talk to him. Do you get that, baby? You are going to support your Mamma," She sunk back in the soft pillows to make herself comfortable as she pressed her hands on her stomach to tame its growling.

Just then she heard her door unlock. His scent hit her nostrils and a sense of console washed over her. He was here. Finally. But Aura maintained her indignation.

She turned her face to the other side as she felt him sit beside her on the couch.

"Baby, tell your Mamma that she has every reason to be angry with daddy. Yet, she needs to know that daddy was busy with an important job. He tried his hardest to arrive early once it was finished, but traffic slowed him down later." Her anger diminished at his euphonious voice.

Though she had turned her back on him, as his hard chest combined with her back Aura's head flew back on his shoulder. Reluctantly she crushed her face against his neck and kissed it.

Her anger instantaneously died as she sensed his hands wrap around her frame and pull her into his lap. She didn't fight him and willingly melted in his hold before squeezing his broad shoulders in an urgent hug.

"I am sorry, darling. I promise this won't repeat again." He kissed her ear and nuzzled her hair. "You can't imagine how much I crave you when you are away. I miss you more than you would ever do."

Damien placed an open mouth kiss on her collarbone. It snatched her breaths away. She was falling in a dark pit full of passion and a burning need. Her core melted except she quickly repelled from the hug and smacked his lips.

"Don't compare my feelings with yours. You can never measure my needs for you, Damien Hunter." While she blushed, his eyes bathed her with a gaze that tightened her nipples.
