Chapter 41 Saved by an unpredicted saviour.

Chapter 41 Saved by an unpredicted saviour.
41\. Saved by an unpredicted saviour.

"My baby!" Aurora awoke screaming loudly.

She batted her lashes in reaction to her surroundings. She was in a hospital room. The back of her left palm had a needle piercing into her vein. She scrunched her forehead but it pulsated with throbbing pain.

"Ahh!" A wince escaped her mouth and when she raised her hand to touch her forehead, gosh, her eyes watered as there was a bandage on her forehead.

"My baby? My baby?" She muttered thinking that she lost her child as the memories of the accident came flashing into her mind.

"MY BABYYY! NOO... NO!" Aurora shrieked.

She had not wanted this. This was not supposed to happen. Her baby... She could not lose the baby like that.

But it was the only truth as the jerk was hard. The collision was intense which resulted in her loss. An irreparable loss.

"Noo... My baby!" Her head fell back on the pillow as she cried, clutching the sheet of the mattress on her sides tightly in her grip.

She was mourning over her loss. Over the loss of Damien's baby. The baby he would have loved to take in his arms and play with it once it was born.

She was starting to regret not telling Damien. Had he learned about his baby, he would have done everything in his power to save it.

"My baby!!" Tears strolled down her eyes.

Aura wept on top of her voice. She was so lost in her mourning over the loss of her baby that when the door of her ward was set agape and someone entered inside, she did not notice.

"Aurora!" She heard a manly voice taking her name but her eyes refused to unfasten and look at the owner.

"My baby! I want my baby back." She was assailed by a terrible sense of bitterness.

"Aurora, control yourself." The voice said, but only had it reached her ears she would have stopped crying.

"I didn't even tell Damien about his baby. He so much craved to have one. He would never forgive me. He would never ever forgive me." A stab of guilt punctured her heart.

She cried more and more repeating the same old phrase, making that person sigh. Having no other option left, he gripped her by the shoulders and pulled her into a hug.

When his arms wrapped around her back tightly, her reverie broke and she opened her eyes. Nevertheless, Aurora cannot look at his face as hers was pressing against his stomach.

It was his soft voice that sliced the silent air and helped her perceive who it was, "Shhh! Stop crying, Aurora. Your baby is absolutely fine."

'Rosario?' She flinched from the hug and uplifted her face.

When her eyes found his, she realized they were wet with moisture and a broken smile on his mouth.

"Damien can still have his baby, Aurora. It is absolutely fine in your womb." He said with an assuring look but the pain in his eyes cannot be neglected.

Although relief washed over her, she couldn't bring herself to talk. Her head began to spin and before she said something to Rosario, her eyes blurred with darkness and she passed out in his arms.

It was at midnight when Aura gained her consciousness back. It took her a minute to recollect what transpired with herself when she awoke the first time. Instantly her right hand came across her belly as she caressed her stomach and closed her eyes to pray to the moon goddess.

'I would have died if anything happened to my baby. Thank you so much moon goddess for keeping my baby unharmed. I can't ask for more.'

She opened her eyes with tears clogging her sight. They were of merriment that came from the realization of her baby being unharmed.

Thanks to Rosario. If it wasn't for him, she would have seriously deteriorated her condition and surely put that little soul in her womb at risk by profuse weeping and mourning, thinking that it wasn't a part of her body any longer. But it was right there.

"Rosario?" She suddenly remembered him.

He really saved her from a great loss.

Aurora raised her eyes to look in the direction of the door but was stunned to find him in a small uncomfortable single couch in deep sleep in the corner of the room. He was there in her ward, beside her.

'Rosario, I misjudged you. I am so sorry.' Her fingers curled at the view of his sleepy figure.

She had wanted him to go away and not bother her. But he still came— as a saviour.

Aura didn't know how to thank him. He did not just save their baby but also her relationship with Damien, who would have gone mad if he learned that she lost the baby he should have learned about long back but didn't because of her reluctance and second thoughts.

'I can't thank you enough, Rosario. I don't even know how to start a conversation with you post the heated talk at the airport.' She was peering him thankfully when he suddenly woke up— as if he perceived that she was awake and desired to talk to him.

"Aurora!" Rosario left the couch with a jerk.

He strode hastily towards the bed with a concerned expression. Aura noticed he was in the same clothes she saw him at the airport. So maybe he was about to go his way when he noticed the accident and came to her rescue.

"How are you feeling? Is it paining anywhere? On your forehead or anywhere else? Let me know so that I can call for a doctor." He let out a tired heave as he examined her bandaged head and body that was on the bed.

Aura smiled at his behaviour and blinked her eyes in assurance as she said, "I feel okay. Please sit down."

"You sure it's not paining anywhere?"

"No, you sit down." Rosario obeyed with a wrinkled forehead.

For the first time they were so close without any trace of fear or hesitation but pure understanding and comfortability.

Relief filled his chest for she was grinning down at him for the first time. He can't be any happier. If not her love then at least he was getting her smiles.

On the other hand, Aurora bathed him with a thankful gaze. He did a great favour on her by rescuing her in time.

"Trust me, your baby is safe. The doctors confirmed it is super healthy." She was snapped from her reverie by his calm yet slightly hurt voice.

Aurora mouthed a small thank you and looked away. Although she did ask him to sit down next to her, it was difficult to talk. He was someone she once crushed over.
