21\. The unpredicted collision!
"So please... Don't snatch this happiness from him."
With her mouth quivering in aghast and eyes watering in guilty realization, the gorgeous housekeeper threw her arms around her senior co-worker and wept, keeping her head on her shoulder.
She honestly didn't think about that at all. She didn't think about her baby really... But only her hurt and heart.
Had she thought about the circumstance closely, she would have realized that the baby and herself were a new beginning in the Alpha's life.
There was doubt that he didn't love her. He did. In fact, he loved her more than any lover would love his woman on earth.
She was just so stupid and overflown by sentiments to think about leaving.
"I am so sorry, Madam Martha. I was not thinking rationally." Aura hiccupped, looking at her hands in shame.
"It's okay, baby. I know mood swings are deathly. Your mistake is excusable." She beamed down at her daughter.
Madam brushed her tears away and kissed her forehead. When Aura's sobs diluted, she let her sit alone in the bed for a second while she went to get the trolley of food for her.
"Come on, now open your mouth. I have prepared Chicken Marsala with broccoli and cucumber salad beside blueberry cake, your favorite!" She set aside the lid that was covering her food and melodiously sung, trying to persuade her to eat.
"Madam Martha, I don't have an appetite. Please take it away." Aurora said with a fallen face.
She was too sad to eat. All that she wondered was about Damien. Alpha Damien.
"Oh, my child! Even if you don't feel the hunger, you ought to take some bites. Don't forget that you have a life growing inside you." Madam Martha said, caressing her stomach.
She knows about her pregnancy. Madam Martha is the only one in the mansion who is aware of her baby. She perceived Aura's symptoms actually!
Her frequent vomiting and weakness gave it away and when she confronted Aura, it was too hard to lie to her.
Since then, the both of them started preserving her secret together. Every now and again, Madam Martha visits Aura to keep a check on her.
She's aware of her daughter' carelessness and that she wouldn't take care of her like a pregnant woman needs it. Therefore, she took the duty on her shoulders.
Madam Martha weaned Damien. So she was delighted when she learned she was going to have another baby to take care of.... After ages.
She loves babies very much. Madam Martha was forced to abort her child by her boyfriend when she conceived. It was a bad relationship. He didn't love her despite her selfless love for him.
So when she got pregnant, he forced her to abort the baby since he was not ready. He loved someone else moreover. He was abusive and brute. Money was all that he cared for and the woman he claimed to love was rich. So before he left her, Madam Martha broke up with him and parted her ways.
Against her will she had to kill her baby as she was afraid to raise it alone without a father. She was not immune mentally to act as the mother as well as the father to the baby. So she did what she inferred was correct to do.
"I am full. Please, not more." Aurora pleaded, blinking her eyes innocently.
To which Madam Martha flattened and set aside the platter.
"Just for today... I am letting you go. From tomorrow onwards, I'll make sure that every bite of food is in your stomach. Remember— you have a baby to feed too." She kissed her forehead and rose to leave.
But before she got any step ahead, Aura seized her wrist in her grip and stopped her, "Here, give it to me. I'll dump it in the basin."
Madam Martha tried to protest but then she eventually gave up against her sweet Aurora's vibrant grin.
"You wait here while I go and do the needful." She let her take the dishes with herself.
Aura was beaming happily until she was under the eyes of Madam Martha. But as she stepped out of her room, her face fell.
She missed Damien.
Her crazy mind would not stop thinking about him. She missed his touch, his love, and— his kisses.
She needed him right now.
With his thoughts clouding her mind, she was walking absentmindedly to the kitchen where she collided with someone.
It broke her spell and brought her back to the present date, making her apologize for the collision without even looking at the person.
"I'm so sorry. I did not see you. I was..."
When she did notice who it was, her mouth twisted and she rolled her eyes.
It was him... Peter Dursely.
