Chapter 124 Don't hurt my daughter in the name of revenge!
124\. Don't hurt my daughter in the name of revenge!
A wheezing wind rolled over, making Aura's teeth clutter. She stared down in the middle of the room on the ground at her screaming daughter and forgot it was necessary to breathe for survival.
That moment, all that she saw was Anna throwing her legs and arms in the air. She was dressed in a pink thin frock that shifted under her little back, leaving her little legs exposed to the cool ground. She was not wearing her socks either.
"Don't hurt her, bastard." Aura banged her fists on Peter's chest and bicep.
She used all her strength to hit him but the devil didn't budge for a second. He just cracked up louder and held her by her elbow, refraining her from going to her daughter.
"You see that, Aurora? You see that? That's what real weakness looks like." He pointed at her daughter and then towards the dogs around her.
They were desperately breathing, the noise invading Aura's ears like a warning buzz.
"I want you to see it with your eyes and feel the pain I have endured just like that– weakly, in a stinking prison of your Alpha husband's captivity. His guards peed on me, they thrashed me like shit and had their dogs poop in my cell. I begged to be killed but they said that their Alpha wanted to see me suffer until my last breath before a slow miserable death. That's when I decided I will take away the most precious things in his life, his mate and his baby." The vein of anger rose between his eyes.
"When he came to see me weeks after you guys had reconciled was the day I swore to destroy his happily flourishing life." He arched her head upward by yanking her hair ruthlessly so their eyes met each other.
Peter seethed and stared at her swollen hurt mouth, "It was then I swore on killing his baby in the cruel way possible and taking his mate for a mistress. You will pay for each night I spent in the dungeons by spending your nights in my bed completely naked and submissive, Aurora." He raised his head ceiling-wards and laughed like a retard.
Waaaah. Waaah.
Anna's cries bellowed in the silent room. There was a tough competition between her cries and Peter's laughs. He was enjoying Aurora's helplessness and how her screaming daughter's condition limped her.
Though Anna's cries echoed in every freaking corner of the room, Peter's laughs stung Aura's ears.
She felt as if a bowl of hot boiling oil was poured in her ears. Her feet hurt as the ground appeared like the surface of an ice bar, so cold and frosty. She could only wonder what it would feel under her daughter's back.
Aura was numb and expressionless until Anna shrieked out loud as one of the German shepherds freed his neck belt from the clutch of the guard controlling him, and advanced towards Anna.
"NO!!!" Aura's heart pulsated in her mouth.
She tried to go save her daughter but thankfully the guard caught the leash of the neck belt just in time and pulled him behind.
"Let her go, you idiot! She's just a baby. Don't hurt her. Please." Aura slipped at Peter's feet weakly as the view of her daughter's flinching and shaking little frame could not be withstood any longer.
She just witnessed her daughter's death approaching her. Certain that this meant death. Death for Anna, her newly born infant who was yet to feel and explore the beauty of the lovely world out there.
Even though she was shaking with fear and her heart was dangerously close to bursting from her tight chest, she still managed to say, "You are not a true wolf, Peter Dursley. Had you been one, you would not have targeted our daughter to hurt us. You are a coward. A fucking coward who's scared of my husband. And I like it."
"You can like it for all I care, Damien's whre." Peter kicked her in the back lightly, but degradingly. "What I like is your infant daughter being ogled at by my starving Shepherds. And I can't wait to see them fight over her body, that is not more than a few pounds."
Aura turned pale and her beauty faded. From the corner of her melting eyes she took a small look at Maria's face. She was equally terrorized and shocked as Aura. Her trembling frame spoke of her uneasiness and fear.
When their eyes met, Aura pleaded with her eyes to know whether she really sent out a rescue message to Damien or it was just a prank. She was not in the state to believe it as a prank, and as Maria returned a concerned look, Aura's energy succumbed.
It only meant she was as clueless as her. Though the message was sent out, now their life depended on Damien's arrival.
Just then, sudden silence filled the room. Aura realized Peter was not laughing any more, nor was her daughter wailing. She looked around the dogs and they were obediently sitting around Anna's little body. But their eyes peered at her as if she was their food.
A horrifying current spread along her spine. Aura erected her back as she looked overhead at Peter. His gaze was affixed on the squirming little frame of her daughter. His cheeks tightened as she watched him breath heavily, dangerously.
Then she noticed him lifting his eyes to the one holding one of the German shepherds, followed by others. She was trying to process the event when it happened! A command so much as aggravating and bone-chilling flared in the tranquil air, "Release!"
She saw the end of the leashes his men were holding fall to the ground. The steel buckle towards the end made a tick noise. Aware of their liberty, the dogs looked behind at the holders of their leashes, and before Aura blinked her tears away, they let out a joyful cry and ran towards Anna in the middle of the room.
"Nooo," Covering her face and looking away, Aura wailed at her daughter's fate.
This was death. She couldn't save her little one or do anything to decrease her pain. The dogs would feast on her little body, take small bites of her still-developing flesh and share her among themselves for she was small. Her body would not be enough for all of them. The thought of her ripped off arms and legs made Aura feel dizzy.
She was going to lose her consciousness and succumb to darkness when a loud howl shuddered her ears. When she looked up, half-torn and internally dead, her breaths hitched and goosebumps burnt her skin.
"What the fuck!" Peter scowled over her head as she stared at the scene across from her.
There was a wolf sitting on top of Anna's body, covering her under his fur as the German Shepherds' mouth bit him in various places. Anna's soft cries were audible. Hence, she concluded that this wolf jumped in before the dogs attacked her daughter and saved her.
But who was he? His head was hiding under his front paws and his rippling furs were dark gray. She was continuously staring at him when the men who were in charge of German Shepherds collapsed in their spots with eyes blinking tiredly one by one. Soon blood spread around them like a sheet of glowing red velvet blanket.
"What the…" Peter could not utter a thing as he gargled and fell at Aura's feet.
She was scared like hell. She shuddered with her soul cowering inside her body as Peter's men began to fire blindlessly in the air. Her eyes looked closely behind his back under his neck to find an arrow piercing inside his skin. He was injected with something that made him collapse.
Aura's gaze clouded. She could see no longer. There was just a dark fog of something she could not properly decipher. It was making her vision blur. With tears getting fatter and fatter in her eyes, she tried to breath in the dusky air.
Using her hands, Aura tried to pull herself on her feet and take her daughter in the protection of her arms.
"Lie down, Aura." But a loud cry came from behind her back and she froze.
