Twenty Four
Twenty Four
~Amber.
I was shaking and a wanting mess, the satisfactory smirk on his face when he was done with his assault made my veins boil with fury. I tried hard but failed to calm my already heated core, my breathing was ragged as I lay sprawled on the bed.
Was this why he kept me here? To torture me and keep ne wanting for his touch? I never expected to be drawn to the infamous cold and ruthless Alpha. To a normal wolf I would be insanely crazy to fawn on the man who killed for a living.
But the rumors seemed wrong, he seemed more like a different person than what I have known him to be. All my other thoughts were thrown aside because of the continuous aching of my mound. I stood up from the bed with the last energy I had and went in for a hot shower.
"You can set everything I need aside, I won't be needing any service today." I told Ayra as I stared at my reflection in the vanity mirror.
"The Alpha…." She wanted to protest and the shock was evident in her tone. I wasn't responsible for that, blame it on your Alpha for leaving me like that.
"Forget it. I'd explain to him if he asks." If.
Where my boldness came from I didn't know, but all I knew was he was surely going to pay for leaving me wanting. Then, a grave thought washed through me, this was just a temporary escape to what lay ahead of me. Despite the reassuring smiles and words I got from Carmen, and the likes, I couldn't help but feel all this was nothing but a dream that very soon I would be awoken to the harsh reality of my life.
The next morning I refused to go for breakfast. My heart thudded in my chest as adrenaline washed through me. What was I doing? Playing a hide and seek game with the ruthless Alpha?
"You can't keep the Alpha waiting." Ayra's tone was laced with warning. "I'm afraid he'll get angry and hurt you."
I froze, the mattress I arranged dropped from my hand. "He would hurt me? I thought you called me his woman?"
She shook her head sadly. "Our Alpha is unpredictable, he could have a flicker of emotions and…."
I didn't want to hear it. A wave of confidence that he won't hurt me rushed through me. I raised my hand and halted her speech. "That's alright. I know what I am doing."
"I hope so." She hurried off out of my chambers, and I immediately shut the door. Leaning slightly on it, eyes shut and my hands slightly shaking, I really hoped I knew what I was doing.
"Amber!! Open this door right now!" I jerked from my table, the paint splattering on the piece of art that I had taken my time to paint out of nervousness.
I gulped, I didn't have any response, so I settled for silence.
"I know you are in there Amber, open this door right now!" His voice boomed through the hall in desperation. I decided to speak up, keeping my voice as calm as possible.
"Greetings Alpha Raze, how many I help you this morning?" Bad move Amber, pretending to be oblivious to his rants was something that could put me in grave danger but I didn't mind.
He paused, his ragged breathing could be heard outside my door.
"Alpha Raze, the meeting is just a few minutes away.." Zane's soothing voice could be heard as he tried to lure his Alpha away from tearing my door apart.
"I'll be back, Amber. Wait for me. Let's go." With that their voice faded into the hallways, I slumped on the bed with my hands on my chest willing to calm my racing heart but my body wasn't obeying. Fear washed through me as I waited like a lamb ready for slaughter.
~Raze.
It wasn't anger it was desperation, I didn't know what she was aiming at but my wolf was rumbling deep inside me and I struggled to keep in the wake. I meant to punish her yesterday but it left me to a restless night, I was unable to sleep. The image of her sultry shape under my heated gaze disturbed my memories and I wanted more.
I had planned to take things further today at breakfast but she didn't come!
"Woah woah Alpha, calm it a bit. The warriors didn't do anything to fuel your frustration." Zane chided with a knowing smile as he walked beside me.
My face turned stone as a growl involuntary left my throat. My mood was soar and I would make sure she pays for putting me through this.
"This might come in intruding but her actions might seem justified if it's truly what I am thinking-"
Bastard. I punched him on his arm, he whined and pouted like a damn kid. Funny. I felt my mood lighten a bit. "Let's head to the meeting. I'll deal with her later."
He winked suggestively and got in beside me. I kicked the engine to life and maneuvered my way through the woods till I got to our training ground.
"What got Alpha so dark today?" I heard Ezra ask Zane who in turn gave him a cold stare and met up with my pace.
"Sometimes I wonder if you are the Alpha or me. Your scowl scares people off more than mine." I gave him a side glance. A smile fought its way to his lips.
"It's just necessary to cut off useless talks and discussions."
We soon arrived at the podium ans the hall hushed with silence after they paid their respect. I settled on the porch in front, with Zane by my side.
"You may bring in all you have to say." And one after the other they gave interesting stories of their recent defeat . None of what they ranted about made no sense to me as my mind was consistently going to a certain Amber eyed omega.
