Chapter 31 Killer Bunny
INDIE
I felt every pair of eyes in the room swing to me in both shock and judgment. My throat tightened. The flames still licking at my fingertips sputtered and died.
Zade didn't move.
He stood in the doorway, still dressed in the charcoal suit he'd worn for the council meeting, no tie. His face was utterly blank. No anger. No surprise. Only that cold, unreadable violet stare.
Anya took a tiny step forward, emboldened by the silence.
"She—she attacked Lady Enid, Alpha. We all saw—"
"Shut up."
The words were soft. Almost bored.
Anya's mouth snapped closed so fast her teeth snapped together.
Zade hadn't raised his voice. He hadn't even looked at her. But the alpha command in those two words was absolute. She flinched as if she'd just been struck. Her eyes were wide, her hands flying to her throat as though she was checking if she could still breathe.
He still hadn't taken his gaze off me.
Enid who was still crumpled on the floor, coughed wetly and tried to speak. "Zade—she—"
His head tilted by an inch.
"Quiet."
The command cracked through the room like a whip. Enid's mouth opened and closed soundlessly. Her hands flew to her lips, her eyes bulging in panic as only muffled whimpers escaped.
Zade finally moved. His movements were slow, graceful and commanding. The omegas shrank back against the wall without being told.
He reached out with one hand and cupped my cheek. His thumb brushed away the tear track I hadn't even realized was there.
"Bunny," he said softly.
The sob I'd been holding inside ripped out of me. I pressed my forehead to his chest, clutching his suit jacket tight.
"I didn't—I didn't attack her for no reason," I choked out. "She slapped me. She accused me of stealing. She—she said things about Lila, about you, about us—"
My voice cracked again.
"She called me a cursed whore. She said I was draining you. Killing you. And then she... she slapped me in front of Lila."
Zade's arm slid around my waist, pulling me flush against him. His other hand cradled the back of my head, his fingers threading through my hair.
"I know," he murmured against my temple. "I felt it through the bond."
He lifted his head just enough to look over my shoulder at the three frozen omegas.
"Which one of you thinks Enid was in the right?"
There was an eerie silence. There was not even the slightest trace of breathing. Almost like everyone was holding their breaths.
"Apologize to her," Zade said calmly.
Anya's knees buckled. She dropped to the floor, her head bowed, shaking so hard her teeth chattered.
"I-I'm sorry, Indigo."
The others followed instantly. Zade waited for a few seconds. Then he dropped his next order.
"Get out."
They scrambled to their feet and fled, nearly tripping over each other in their haste. The door slammed shut behind them.
Enid tried to crawl backwards, still clutching her throat, her eyes wild.
Zade didn't even glance at her.
He turned back to me, both of his hands framing my face now. His thumbs swept under my eyes again, wiping away the fresh tears.
"You're shaking," he said softly.
"I almost—" My voice cracked. "I almost burned her. In front of Lila. I—"
"You didn't." He pressed his lips to my forehead, his soft lips lingering there. "You stopped. You protected our daughter. You protected yourself."
Our daughter.
I let out a trembling breath and leaned into him, letting his warmth chase away the last of the cold rage.
He kissed my temple, then the corner of my eye, then the salt track on my cheek.
"I heard what happened at the supermarket," he said softly.
My stomach dropped.
"You... did?"
"Maris sent a recording." His voice stayed gentle, but something darker moved underneath it. "I saw the bottle hit Lila. I saw Carla's face when she laughed."
I swallowed hard. "Are you... mad at me?"
He pulled back just enough to look at me.
"Mad?" He repeated the word as if it was strange. Then he let out a low, rough chuckle.
His hand slid down my wrist, caught my fingers, and guided my palm straight to the thick, heavy bulge straining against his suit pants.
I sucked in a breath.
He pressed my hand harder against him, letting me feel every inch of how hard he was.
"This," he rasped, "is what happened the second I saw you choking the life out of Enid. My sweet, gentle Bunny turned into a fucking tiger. Claws out. Flames ready to burn everything down." His hips rolled once, grinding into my palm. "It was the sexiest thing I've ever seen."
Heat flooded my face so fast I felt dizzy.
Zade kissed me then. His kisses were gentle at first. Then they grew deeper and more desperate. Sucking lightly, nipping and stroking until I was dizzy with want.
I opened for him, clinging to his shoulders, rising on my toes to get closer.
Behind us, Mason cleared his throat awkwardly.
Zade didn't break the kiss. Mason cleared it again, louder.
Zade finally lifted his head, his eyes still locked on mine, his pupils dilated.
"Take her," he said without looking away from me.
Mason blinked. "Alpha?"
"Enid." Zade's voice dropped to something lethal. "Take her somewhere she can repent. Lock her in a room. Chain her if you have to. I'll deal with her later."
Mason swallowed hard, nodded, and moved.
Enid tried to scramble away, muffled whimpers still leaking from her throat. Mason caught her arm in an iron grip and hauled her up.
She shot me one last venomous look before he dragged her out.
The door slid shut.
Zade's thumb brushed my swollen bottom lip.
"Now," he murmured, his voice a dark velvet, "where were we?"
I stared up at him, my heart pounding. My cheeks burned, my body still thrumming from the kiss and the adrenaline and the sheer relief that he believed me.
He smiled. Then he kissed me again, savoring every needy sound that crawled out of me. How pathetic I was in his hands.
“Ngh,” I groaned as his hands slid under my sweater, his hands expertly unhooking my bra to cup my boobs with his warm hands. He backed me up against the wall, his head dipping to the curve of my neck. He teased his mark on my neck with his tongue, sending electricity traveling down the length of my spine.
“Oh, bunny. You smell so amazing,” he said huskily, tweaking my nipples between his fingers.
I was soaked in seconds, tossing my head to the side to give him better access. Goddess, I was a slave to his addictive touches. I wanted more. No, I needed more.
I was panting now, gasping as he unbuttoned my jeans, his hand sliding past the waistband of my panties. His thumb found my throbbing clit, massaging slowly until I was shaking so badly, my legs could barely hold me up.
We were too exposed. The chances of getting caught was too high. But I couldn’t stop him.
When his fingers sank into my soaked pussy with a soft squelching sound, I nearly lost it.
“Zade!” I cried.
“Say my name again, bunny. Let me hear how much you like me owning this pussy,” he whispered in my ear.
“Please fuck me with your fingers, Alpha. Make me soak my panties,” I whimpered feverishly.
He crashed his lips against mine, kissing me until I couldn’t think. Every maddening thrust of his fingers had me clenching around him. When the tidal wave hit, I bucked against him, crying out.
He didn’t stop stretching and curling. No, he increased his speed, jamming his fingers knuckles deep until I was sobbing from the overwhelming pleasure. When my next climax hit, I felt a warm gush of liquid burst through, my eyes rolling into the back of my head.
The climax lasted for what felt like minutes. My body felt like overcooked noodles as I slumped in his arms, convulsing.
By the time, I came down from the high, I was breathless. Zade scooped me into his arms right then, kissing my forehead.
I smiled at him, dazed. I wanted him to fill me up with something thick and hot. So, I leaned up to whisper in his ear.
“Will you let your cock fill me up next, alpha? This cunt is hungry for it,” I whispered.
I wasn’t sure what I was saying. Probably because that intense fingering left my brain cells fried. It was ridiculous, really.
Even so, Zade’s eyes darkened with the promise of more filth. My cunt clamped greedily around nothing, aching to be used and ruined.
Suddenly, a sharp pain lanced through my arm. I cried out in shock, clutching at it.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” Zade asked, his voice laced with concern.
“I don’t know. My arm just aches. I don’t—”
We both froze when a strange mark crept up the back of my hand up towards my forearm like cracks on porcelain. And it burned so much, I let out a gasp.
‘Want to know what that is?’ A deep voice said in my head. ‘It’s your countdown. If you don’t kill Enid before the venom gets to your heart, you will die. And Zade will die with you.’
