Chapter 64 The Final Eclipse

Chapter 64 The Final Eclipse
Deborah’s POV

The ground under Deborah's feet opened up so fast she didn't even have time to breathe.

Black, tentacle-like things shot out of the ground. They looked like grabbing fingers, and they felt a bad omen, like they came from the Void.

The memorial stones fell over. The forest floor moved up and down. Old trees made groaning sounds as their roots ripped out of the ground. Deborah's silver fire lit up without her thinking.

Platinum marks glowed on her skin because of the attack.

She thought of Erick. She reached out to him through their special connection. She felt his warm, golden energy respond. Other pack members ran in all directions, changing shape as they ran.

"Get the regular people to the safe house!" she yelled. Her powerful Alpha voice cut through all the noise. But she kept watching the growing crack in the ground.

Dark stuff rose out of it, like smoke that had taken shape.

The prophecy wasn't done yet. And the Void knew that.

Erick’s POV

Erick felt Deborah's fear hit him through their special connection, just before he saw the darkness appear.

His healing power came out, with golden light around his hands, as he ran to her.

Other pack members ran past him as wolves, but he stayed human. His powers worked best this way, and Deborah needed him strong.

Their connection felt alive, getting stronger as he got closer. He could feel her strong, fiery power through it, but he also felt her doubt. The vision had scared her more than any fight could.

"Deborah!" He reached her side just as a black tentacle whipped at her side.

His golden shield appeared, and the darkness pulled back with a hiss that sounded alive.

She looked at him, her light eyes meeting his quickly. In that look, he saw everything: her fear, her will to fight, and her full trust in him.

She trusted him not just because he was strong, but because they were stronger together.

"The prophecy mentioned a sacrifice," she said quietly, so only he could hear. "I saw it, Erick. In the vision. One of us."

"Later," he said. He put his hand on her back, sending his healing power into her to make her stronger. "Right now, we fight."

Deborah’s POV

Deborah felt Erick's power join with hers. Their special bond lit up so brightly she could see it in her pack's scared faces.

Silver and gold light twisted together, going up like a pillar and pushing back the growing darkness.

The Void got very angry.

More dark arms shot out from the hole, lots of them, all trying to grab people. Deborah just acted. Her wolf spirit came out, but she didn't fully change.

Her claws grew long, covered in silver fire, and she ripped apart the closest dark arm. It vanished with a scream, but three more appeared.

Behind her, Erick breathed calmly. She could feel him through their bond.

They weren't fighting alone; they moved perfectly together. When she moved left, his shield covered her right.

When she needed help, his healing power went to her right away.

They had trained and prepared for this. But she wasn't ready for how right it felt to fight with him.

Their powers worked together like they were made for it.

"The sky world," Erick said suddenly, his voice strained. "Can you feel it? Our bond is opening a path."

Deborah could. Even though the sun was still out, she felt something else above them: the gap between worlds was getting thinner.

The Eclipse wasn't just magic. It was a door, and their bond was the key.

"We need to go up," she said, suddenly understanding. "The Void is stuck to this world. But if we can pull it into the sky world..."

"It won't have anywhere to hide." Erick took her hand, their fingers linked. "Together?"

"Always."

Erick’s POV

Erick had never tried anything like this before. His healing magic was for fixing things, making them whole again, not for connecting worlds.

But when Deborah's silver flames mixed with his golden light, he felt the Eclipse Bond get much bigger than he ever thought it could.

The world tipped.

One second, they were in the ruined clearing, with Void tendrils squirming everywhere. Next, they were in two places at once.

Their feet were still on the ground, but their minds went to something huge and endless.

The sky world opened up for them, like a flower blooming super fast, full of stars and space wind.

Power flowed between their joined hands. Deborah's strong, protecting fire. His soft, steady healing. No one was more in charge. It was perfectly even and complete.

The Void knew what they were doing and attacked even harder. Sharp pain shot through Erick's side when a tendril hit him, and the bad stuff burned like acid.

He gasped, almost letting go of Deborah's hand and the connection to the sky world.

"I've got you." Deborah's voice, strong and sure, held him steady. Her silver flames burned the wound closed even as her free hand grabbed him around the waist. "Stay with me, Erick. I need you. The bond needs you."

He could feel her fear through their connection, not of the Void, but of losing him. It gave him strength he didn't know he had.

"Not going anywhere," he managed to say, standing straighter even though he was in pain.

His healing magic worked inside him, getting rid of the bad stuff. "Let's finish this."

Deborah’s POV

Deborah was very scared, but also very sure of what she had to do.

The Eclipse Bond shone brightly between them. It was silver and gold, twisting up like a rope of light. It went through the barrier between worlds. Powerful beings from another world noticed.

She could feel these beings. They were made of energy, very big and powerful. They looked at their world, at the bad energy of the Void. They didn't like it, and their anger felt like thunder.

"Now!" Deborah yelled. She wasn't sure if she was yelling at Erick or the powerful beings.

The Eclipse Bond became a path. Energy from the other world poured through it into their world. It wasn't to destroy, but to push out the Void. The Void made a terrible sound that you felt more than heard. It was forced out of their world.

Deborah's silver fire and Erick's gold light made a cage around the darkness. They squeezed it, pushing it back into the hole it came from. The ground shook hard. Trees broke and fell. But the Void was slowly losing.

Erick squeezed her hand. She felt how tired he was through their connection. This was taking all their strength. Her marks on her skin burned so bright it hurt her eyes. His golden glow was weak, like a candle in the wind.

Just a little more, she thought, desperate. Just hold on.

The Void crashed in on itself with a sound like the world ripping. The hole closed up, as if dirt was water filling it. The last bits of darkness vanished. All that was left was burned ground and a sharp smell.

Then it was quiet.

Erick’s POV

Erick's knees gave out, and Deborah held him up. Their Eclipse Bond was still there, but it was softer now, not as strong as before.

"Is it over?" someone asked. Erick thought it was Marcus, but he couldn't see well.

"The Void is gone," Deborah said, her voice rough. "The world is okay."

But Erick felt her hesitation through their bond. He felt her eyes look across the damaged land, seeing the cost.

Three pack members were hurt. The memorial was destroyed. The forest itself would take years to heal.

And the prophecy...

"Deborah," he whispered, just for her. "The sacrifice. The vision you had. What did it show you?"

She turned to him. In her light eyes, he saw an answer that made him scared.

"Not what," she whispered. "When."

Before he could ask what she meant, the ground shook again. It wasn't the Void this time. It was something else. Something old.

The Eclipse Bond flared a warning, and Deborah's sharp breath told him she felt it too.

From the closed crack, a single silver-gold seed pushed through the earth. It glowed with its power.

And it was growing.
