Chapter 159

Adara's POV

I  stood on the training grounds, my eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of George’s letter. It had been weeks since I last heard from him, and my anxiety grew with each passing day.

But I couldn't afford to let my worries distract me. With the looming threat of Malachi's army, I had to prepare our soldiers for battle. Jameson stood beside me, his sword slicing through the air as he trained our troops.

"Adara, we need to talk," Jameson said, his voice low and urgent.

I turned to him, my heart racing. "What is it?"

"Our scouts have reported strange movements in the nearby forest. It could be Malachi's men."

My grip on my sword tightened. "Prepare the soldiers. We'll be ready for them."

Jameson nodded, and together we trained our soldiers, our minds focused on the battle ahead. But my heart remained with John, wondering when his letter would arrive, and what news it would bring.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, I gazed up at the stars, my thoughts with George and Hakman, hoping they were safe, and that our plan would soon come together. Little did I know, fate had other plans. I really hope we know about the sword and the book of revelation soon.

Just as I was prepared to go back to my tent. Jameson's eyes scanned the sky, his gaze locking onto a bird winging its way towards us. "Adara, look!" he exclaimed, pointing to the approaching bird.

I followed his gaze, my heart quickening as the bird landed gracefully nearby. Jameson hastened to retrieve the message attached to its leg, his eyes scanning the contents.

"Adara, it's from George," he said, his voice filled with urgency.

I became so confused wondering what was in the latter and why Jameson had reacted that way. My mind began to  race thinking of the implications of things going wrong.

“Hold on with the latter, let move to the tent" I suggested.

Jameson nodded, his eyes locked onto mine. "I'll gather a small team. We'll leave at dawn."

I nodded, my heart pounding with anticipation. The wait was finally over. George's message had arrived and I wondered what was written.

We moved swiftly and sat under the tent, the flickering candlelight illuminating George's letter. Jameson sat beside me, his eyes scanning the parchment as I read aloud.

"Dear Adara,

We've arrived at the Darkmoon pack, and it's been a wild ride. We joined the soldiers easily enough, but Malachi is currently absent. Our skills have earned us their trust, but I sense there's more to this pack than meets the eye.

I'll keep you updated on our progress. Wish us luck!

Yours,

George”

“Hmmm" I took a deep breath letting out my worriedness as I finished reading the latter..

“So, George is safe for now!" I thought to myself, feeling a heavy weight of realive.

Just as I finished reading, a figure emerged from the darkness, his footsteps echoing through the silent night. I felt a jolt of surprise, my hand instinctively reaching for my sword.

But as the man approached, his features became clear. It was Hakman, his rugged face set in a determined expression.

"Adara, Jameson," he said, his voice low and urgent.

"Hakman, what brings you back so soon?" Jameson asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

Hakman's expression turned grave. "I have urgent news. Smith, the alpha's guard, approached me with a warning. Mitchell and Malachi are plotting to kill the alpha."

My eyes widened in shock. "How sooner this was, I thought his target was at us”

Hakman nodded. "I know. He told the alpha, but he refused to believe me. He demands proof, and that's why I've come. I need your help to gather evidence and stop them before it's too late."

Jameson's face set in a determined expression. "We need to help Smith,Hakman. But what's the situation with Malachi's army?"

Hakman's eyes turned grim. "Malachi is now in charge of all the pack's soldiers. He has almost a million soldiers at his command. We're running out of time, friends."

Adara's mind raced with the implications. A million soldiers? It was an army unlike any they had ever faced before. But they couldn't afford to back down now. The fate of the pack, and the alpha, hung in the balance.

Thoughts arose in my mind, I wondered what to do. Nothing we can do yet without George's present we also need to acquire the sword first still we need to prepare.

“Hakman you have to go back to Bloodclaw's pack, you have to stay low and stay with Smith, inform Smith that we're preparing and we'll stop Malachi no Matter what" i ordered.

Hakman turned to leave immediately, his eyes filled with worriedness.
