Chapter 58 Awakening The Dead
Chapter 58
Alpha Vexhood's POV.
Abort Mission!” My voice echoed through Crimson Revenant.
Rosa failed too?” I bellowed at the top of my voice. “Just like the way I have been trying in the past!”
Enough! This is turning into something else… a monumental disgrace.
I had been meditating more on the book of the skull. The books of the dead. Those Chief priests, mighty warriors, sorcerers in my shoes who had found themselves in my positions in the past. How their ambition came to pass… how they were able to romance the gods and have their way.
I stood up from the chair in the shrine of Varkos. My two hands hung beside me. I was pacing to and fro. Immersed in my thoughts. Anger brewed within me.
Who would accept it from me that I have been chasing alpha Jax with everything I had for more than four months since he became king and still there was no solution.
Who would believe me that I have sent nine different gods to him but all to no avail? Those that I needed to pay homage to get to work? Those that I need worship to make Jax away faster?
Every one of them muted. Even my god-friend, Varkos whom we have had a long time relationship with had kept quiet.
Several times he comes to pay me visits, even when I am eating… even when I am holding a meeting breezed in like a mutual friend who is to fund each other… everything had stopped now. I don't even know what actually went wrong. What about the rest they too have gone mute?
Just a few hours ago my son barged into my house to challenge my competence… I have to start preaching to him. I could not tell him that I had sleepless nights on this issue more than him.
Unlike before that I would strike into action. Fixing what needed to be fixed. The whole world knows I strike with action, I get the job done without waiting for their approval.
Be it the elders or sometimes the alpha king. That is why they all fear me.
The elders meeting is coming up. They would ask questions. They would need feedback. They have been waiting all this while to hear good news from the palace.
Like alpha Jax slept and didn't wake up or struck with some incurable disease the way it happened to Knox. For everyone to rush down to the palace and begin to pay condolence messages for his departure
What would I say? That the gods are taking their time to strike Jax the way they struck his father?
Then a thought struck me? A golden one. Since attacking Jax hasn't worked out well, why can't stormfang pack? Let the aggression of killing Mila intensifies more on the pack . Let the aggression be so intense that they think the gods are angry. I play gallery with them and render inconsequential burnt offerings to the gods.
No one would tell them, when the agony intensified, that they would ask for alpha Jax to leave the throne and my son, Ryder would be the king.
Good! Brilliant idea.
I wouldn't waste any time. I marched straight to the Casket of the moon bound marks to pull out the soot of the forgotten howlers.
I rubbed it in between my palms vigorously, jammed my right foot to the floor thrice, vigorous dust accompanied my action … I closed my eyes firmly, hand stretched out like a priest who wanted to receive a gift from the gods and words of spirit followed…
Eshra’ va thel…
Mora… kesh unda’rem…
Oru’mah sen dravak
Shailoea Vekhu tru’hn
The earth shook beneath. My voice vibrated round the room. The unexpected breeze flew into the shrine. Cycling round my feet. Then coiled round me like a python around his evening food.
“Ashes of the unseen dead, awaken and descend upon this pack with ruthless force that has ever been seen.”
Increased the volume of my voice tremendously. Intense anger brewed through me… my body vibrated rhythmically, “...Bring destruction with a merciless hand sparing none within the stormfang pack. Continue with your assault until I summon you in an hour's time back to silence.
With anger I blew out of the soot.
The earth shook tremendously, more than I have ever seen. Then books of the dead flapped open up, the windows linking into the shrine were greatly disturbed.
Then soot turned reddish and found their way through the window.
Then suddenly, for the first time in a long while everywhere was dark.
