Chapter 132 Silent Conspiracy

Chapter 132 Silent Conspiracy
Chapter 125

Jax's POV.

What do you think?” I asked again. “Just you and your sister can be of help to me. I hate to see a she-wolf like that around me.”

I scoffed and turned my face to the side . My lips pulled back in a hardline. Heat crawled my neck into my ears. My fingers curled slowly. Nail biting into my cold palm.

I didn't look at Frassie . I waited for her to speak.

" You wouldn't do it free of charge" I replied, lifting my eyes to meet hers“ … and like I had been saying all these while… I guarantee you, full protection from any danger from Rosa, Alpha Ryder or any of their close allies."

Frassie shifted on her feet. She lifted her shoulder in a small shrug in my direction.

" Ok, so will you be showing up here more often?” She asked, her brow drew together. She quickly glanced around the room and shook her head fast, “… I guess that wouldn't be good at all.”

She took a few steps backwards. Her feet bumping the wall. Her eyes flicked to the door.

“… we need to get a place more private, with less pack member attention… Where we can meet up …”

Frassie then paused, raising her fingers towards me. She slightly hardened her jaw. " My sister will not be in contact with you… don't ask me that… your highness … I have my reason…”

I gave a slow nod. No push. No question, since that was what I had been waiting for all day.

I went back to the bed to pick up my disguised costume and a few that scampered everywhere on the ground.

I lifted the stuffed cloth and slid it back under my outfit. I pressed back with both hands until my shape looked wrong enough.

I picked up my fake mustache which had slipped up. I pressed it carefully under my nose, rubbing evenly once more to be sure.

By the time I turned around, Frassie was already at the door. Her hand wrapped around the door knob.

I know by now, the ale-house owner would be looking for her to either come serve the customers her ale or render her service as sex workers to her loyal customers.

“I really appreciate you, for going out of the way to expose some wrath which was taking place under my nose.” I said.

Frassie only bowed her head. She didn't say a word.

We both walked out from her room. I followed her closely, walking behind her as both of us walked through the hallway. Fluorescent light flickered above. The main hall where pack members gathered earlier and enjoyed themselves.

I didn't have to say goodbye to her. Frassie already knows.

I walked out of the ale house ruminating on the information Frassie had just given to me about Rosa. My boot scraped along the dusty path.

I knew everything was wrong about Rosa, that dirty blood cunt. Her thoughts. Her actions. Her thought and plan towards me was false. My feelings warned me but I didn't know where to place it. I didn't know that her plan, with alpha Ryder, his wicked and demonic father, coupled with those nonentity elders was to eliminate me and replace me with alpha Ryder.

That was the reason he left the park. I have never seen a beta who completely abandoned his pack duties for months without even visiting the palace for a day.

He was shocked when he saw that I didn't die under seven mountains with the seven gods.

If everything allegation Frassie had leveled against Rosa were lies, what about our fertility? Would that be a lie too? Never.

The last time I checked, it was only caramel who was a partner in crime to Rosa and she would never divulge the fertility state of her friend to anyone.

She was there with us when the healer confirmed that Rosa and I can never have an heir together. Even if I'm ready to embark on such a route with such a snake?

If I challenged the idiot now, she would blatantly deny it. But I don't have to . Because to trap a monkey one just has to learn how to behave like one.

I used the wooly fur pullover I wore to cover my head completely.

It had been made up of thick fur there, helping me to conserve as much heat as possible from the cold weather. The old and thick used cloth which I had stuffed underneath the wooly pullover had really helped too.

My fake mustache still glues itself to my face. My disguised make up, which made me look ten years older, was still intact.

I walked through the street. Along the sidewalk. Constantly ruminating over the stupid actions I have taken concerning Mila's case.

Mila's death happened to be my greatest undoing. I messed up. Really messed up watching her being poisoned like a sewage rat. A seasoned healer. The only seasoned healer we had in our pack. And opening my eyes for the so-called elders to choose for me. I thought it was the best decision. I never was into a death trap that would spell doom for me.

My father warned me severally about the caliber of wolves I should allow to come to my table. He warned me , but I didn't listen.

I thought they meant well for me. I didn't know they were digging my grave. The way they dug my father's grave.

How much evil have they done to me and the throne that was still yet to be unraveled?

I walked a long distance away tucking my hand into my pocket, my feet heavy because like rocks, it's been a while since I put my body under this type of physical exercise.

I have to do it to avoid pack members from noticing me . The route I had taken out of the palace was still far away.

Though I was not with any wristwatch, I knew it was almost midnight.

I had crossed a road . When someone stepped out of a motel.

My eyes narrowed.

Is that not…” The words stuck in my mouth. I couldn't finish the statement.
