Chapter 129 Broken Trust
Chapter 123
"Sleeping around?"
I tilted my head up slightly. My neck is was not left out, the felt stiffened as look up to her face. I squeezed my brow, which give a deep furrow on my forehead.
I widened my eyes pretending that I was shocked. Though right within me, that wasn't a news anymore.
"How do you know that?"
Those questions squeezed themselves out of my mouth like a hot burning fire squeezing out of the mouth a dragon.
Who told you? Where did you get this from? What have such information?”
The questions kept coming. I couldn't stop them.
Frassie's jaw tightened. I could spot the muscle in her face tightening up. "So you don't believe me?"
" why wouldn't I?"
I threw my hand in the air, allowing it to move in small circle.
Frassie reached out fit the stool that stood not too far away.
She drew it to herself, I heard it as it make a large scrapping against the floor.
She drew the stool closer to me to the point that our kneels almost touched. I could see she wanted sex
I sat perched on the edge of her small bed. It was barely big enough for one person. The thin mattress sagged under my weight, and I could feel the hard wooden frame underneath pressing against my legs.
"Do you want me to tell you the truth?" Her voice was quiet but firm. Her fingers curled slowly into tight fists on her lap. Her knuckles turned white. "Or do you want to keep playing games with me?"
I threw both arms wide open. My hands stretched out to either side. "Why not?" I let my voice get louder. "That's why I followed you to this tiny room of yours, isn't it?"
I leaned forward, putting my elbows on my knees. My face got closer to hers. "To hear secrets that no other wolf should hear except me. Secret things that shouldn't fall on the ears of anyone else in the pack."
I pushed my body back hard and let myself flop against the rough wall behind the bed. The stone felt cold through my shirt. My arms stretched up toward the low ceiling. My fingers spread wide like I was reaching for something.
"So what's stopping you?" I kept my arms up in the air. "Go ahead. Say it."
Frassie looked at me not once, not twice. Her read my face like it was an open scroll passing across message laced with life and death, some with a written expression.
She breathed deeply. So intensed that I could hear from where I was, that was not enough, the intensity had spread through the room like a tremor was about to take place.
Her through made some funny gasp like she wanted to force words out of them.
"Your Luna is cheating."
The words came out flat and cold. No emotion. Just facts.
I didn't move a muscle. Not even a finger. My lips pressed together into a thin, straight line. I kept my face blank and empty like a stone wall. Like someone had carved it from rock. She watched me closely, waiting for some kind of reaction. Her eyes got wider and wider when I didn't move at all. Not a flinch. Not a blink. Nothing.
A tiny line appeared between her eyebrows. Confusion flickered across her face.
"She's cheating on you," Frassie continued, her voice getting stronger, "with someone you share the throne with."
My right eyebrow went up just a little bit. Slowly. "Someone I share the throne with?"
I tilted my head to the side. My neck bent at an angle. "You know that's a very serious thing to say. A very serious allegation."
"So you think I'm lying?"
The intensity of her voice increased, permeating every corner of the room. Sprang up from her seat with help of her hand. The stool responded by oscillating to and fro at the same point before finding it stability.
Her breath peaked making her chest to rose and fell quickly.
"That means you don't trust me." Her hands balled into fists at her sides. "And if things go bad, you won't protect me."
Her finger shot out, pointing straight at my chest like a weapon. "Just like the way you didn't protect your other Luna, Mila. You allow that brilliant young to perish."
The word hit me like a blow launched to my lower abdomen, my stomach tightened up to a knot.
“Don't tell me it Mila you are talking about.” I questioned.
My stomach twisted into a tight knot. The name hit me like a punch. "Don't tell me you're talking about Mila."
I shook my head hard, back and forth, back and forth. My hair fell into my eyes. "Everyone knows the whole pack decided that.
The council voted. The elders made the choice. It was completely out of my hands."
"Out of your hands?"
