Episode 21: Tell Her To Leave If You Love Her
Ava.
"Have you spoken to him, and what did he say?" I asked Gwen immediately when she returned.
But then she shrugged her shoulders, looking so stressed. "All I can say is that I delivered the message you sent me to deliver to him. But, as for what you said about him being a suspect, I fully believe it because he refused to talk about it," Gwen responded to me.
Then I immediately began to hand over my baby to her. "Then I think he leaves me no choice but to report him because I can't stand anything happening to my baby!"
"Whatever the plan is, I don't care. I just want my baby to be protected," I said, handing over my baby to Gwen, and she kindly accepted Sam from my hand.
But as I was walking away and about to step out of the door, she called my name. "My lady, don't you think you might be making a mistake?" Gwen said.
I turned and looked at her in surprise. She was questioning me about reporting Caleb when she's the one who has been pushing me to do it.
"Making a mistake? A mistake about what exactly?" I asked her as I slowly stepped backwards.
"About reporting Caleb right now. It could be a terrible mistake for you," she boldly responded, leaving me wondering what's wrong with her. I'm definitely not understanding her anymore.
"What's wrong with you, Gwen? Are you with me or with them? This is how people push someone into something and then reject them, leaving them stuck in between!" I yelled at her, reacting in anger.
"My lady, I'm sorry, but I never meant it that way..." she was still saying, and I angrily interrupted her.
"Shut up! Just shut up, please!" I yelled at her with a loud voice.
"You were the one who has been pressuring me to report him, and now that I want to go and do it, you're telling me it's a terrible mistake! So, are you with me or with them?" I asked angrily.
"I'm sorry, but I never said that you shouldn't have thought of reporting him," she responded.
"Then what are you saying!?" I yelled at her with a very loud voice.
"My lady, I'm just saying that you have already given him 24 hours to speak out. You should let the time complete, maybe he would turn in to explain. But I'm sorry for interfering. You can choose to do it the way you like," she responded. Then I was left looking at her.
I felt frustrated and awkward at this moment, so I just approached her and sat beside her, then began to shed tears.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you. It's just that the frustration is becoming too much for me to bear alone," I responded to her, and she kindly sat beside me.
Which is why I chose her to be the one who is always by my side because she seems to be the only one who understands me, even in any condition.
"It's okay, my lady. Stop letting them frustrate you. You are the one who is giving them more chances, and that is what I feel, and it's true. Just try to be strong! Be the one in control in this case!"
"Prove to them that, after all, you are the Alpha's most favorite right now! Eat good food, always keep smiling, and watch how they will crumble in pain," Gwen advised me. I looked up at her and hugged her tightly, tears streaming down my face.
Gwen, I don't know what I would have done without you! Thank you for being there for me. I appreciate all your efforts," I expressed my gratitude to her.
•CALEB•
Just waiting, I found myself so restless. My mind couldn't rest, and I was pacing up and down.
I couldn't stay in one place. The Omegas had finished working, and they were already having their meals, while I was up here alone, contemplating my situation.
So, right now, I have two options to consider, and I need to think very carefully.
The first one said, "Team up with me, and I will help you get what you want. Otherwise, refuse and lose everything, including your life."
Then the second one says, "Tell me everything she said, or you will lose your life."
Both of them are pointing in the same direction of reporting me to Alpha Dan, who would have me executed for the sins that my father committed.
Whom should I consider? Ava gave me just one day, and Ariel gave me two days.
If I have to consider both conditions, that means whatever plan I have with Ariel will no longer work with Ava because she will be already aware because I have exposed it for her.
And if I decide to take Ava's condition only, that means Ariel will still expose me, and I will lose her and everything, including my life.
"But what if I decide to take Ariel's condition? That means...? I think I will definitely be safe! Ava won't have the heart to report me to Alpha Dan."
"Of course, she can't. She loves me, but she's just struggling to push away the love she has for me."
"Though in this case, I will be taking Ariel's condition and not Ava's," I concluded in my thoughts.
I stood up, and just as I turned around to walk away, I almost bumped into Dred.
"I'm sorry, Beta Caleb," Dred said, leaving me staring at him in surprise.
I wondered how he knew that name and even had the audacity to call me that.
"Hey! Who told you that was my name? And why were you calling me Caleb?" I asked, looking confused and scanning the area, feeling even more bewildered.
"I'm sorry, but I actually thought that was your name because I heard Luna Ava and Ariel calling you that name. I thought it was your other name, but I'm sorry," he responded.
"I didn't know it was offensive, though," he added. I quickly pulled him to the corner.
"Please, under no circumstances should you tell anyone that Caleb is my name or let anyone else know about this?" I asked as he nodded his head.
"I hope that no one else know about this or have you told someone already?" I asked as he waves his head.
"Does that mean that when you heard them calling me that name, you were alone?" I asked again, just to be sure of what I was saying.
"Yes, I was all alone. But the way you're asking me, is everything okay?" he asked, trying to gauge my suspicious behavior.
"Yeah, everything is fine, or maybe not fine, but I'll explain it to you later. Please promise me that you'll never tell anyone else that my name is Caleb, and you'll never call me that name again," I requested. He stared at me for a moment before nodding his head.
"Okay, I promise to keep it a secret, and you will always remain James to me," he responded. I happily rubbed his head with my hand.
"Thank you," I responded.
•ARIEL•
Like a damn mess, this is a very big mess for me, and I wish I had known. I wouldn't have threatened her life.
But I shouldn't dwell on it too much since they are yet to recognize that I am is in danger here too.
If they ever open up about me to Alpha Dan, then I am finished as well because that will become full evidence of what I have denied ever doing in the past just to be with Alpha Dan. But now I'm just going to lose him to a woman I made packless.
This is definitely the only case stage that has hit me so badly that I don't even know where to start.
But I know that they are still scared of me because of how smart I am, and I think I am going to take advantage of that and scare them until they accept my decision.
"You look troubled. Can you please tell me what's on your mind?" Gwen's voice said as she approached. I looked back and saw her approaching.
I stood up and acted like I was okay. "I look troubled? Oh yes, I think you're right because I'm thinking about how Ava will react when that her baby dies," I said scaring her really hard.
"Don't even for a moment think that you can harm that baby because we will do everything we can to protect him," Gwen responded, and I chuckled.
"I think so, but if you can do everything to protect him, then why didn't you protect yourself when you were with Caleb? And why didn't she protect herself too?"
"I won the both of you without even breaking a sweat, even when both of you have every advantage over me. Think again. What about me? Where I do have several advantages?" I asked, but she remained silent, staring at me.
"If you truly love Ava and the baby the way you claim, please just tell her to leave with her baby for safety purposes. I need a glass of wine immediately," I ordered her, and she stared at me for a while before leaving my presence.
