Chapter 61
Chapter 61
Cassidy’s brain couldn't hardly comprehend what she seen. She had been so comfortable and content. She had been looking forward to when James came home. All she wanted to do was touch him. Make sure he was alright and then make love to him until dawn. When she looked up and seen her father standing over her, a triumphant gleam to his eyes and a sinister look on his face, she froze in confusion.
The man used that seconds long freeze from the she-wolf to strike. He had successfully lost the ranked members of the BlackStone pack in the raid and used that time to break away from the fight and work his way around. Thanks to the king’s witch and her gift at making tonics to mask scents, it was fairly straightforward and simple to get inside of the pack house. He didn't have much faith in Jennifer to succeed in getting the white wolf on her own like she had tried to convince him. The spiteful she-wolf had far too much jealousy and hatred in her to do much more than bark.
One thing his father taught him well: You want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
“You are such a beautiful bitch… If you were not already spoken for I would keep you for myself.” The man growled as he used his strength to keep the she-wolf pinned to the bottom of the bathtub while he reached into the pocket pants he had Jennifer hide for him close to the houses he could wear and not look so suspicious. He pulled out an injector that looked more or less like an epi pen and injected a tranquilizer through the womans shoulder before pocketing the device again.
Cassidy was holding her breath, fighting with everything she had. She was kicking with her legs, trying to twist herself free but her fathers grip was like iron and he kept her pinned to the bottom of the tub. Her nails clawed the skin from his arm, turning the water red with the wounds. She could no longer see her father when the water became clouded and barely felt it when she was injected with something. She did however feel the almost immediate effects of the drug.
Her body felt flushed and warm and her limbs felt incredibly heavy. It was a struggle to fight any more and she relaxed into the water and immediately she was brought up to the surface. Gasping for breath, she coughed a little and found herself leaning into a body and arms, unable to move and unable to make a sound. A vial was pressed against her lips and a bitter liquid touched her tongue before her head was tilted back to encourage her to swallow.
“Thats it. Good girl. Lets get you home.” He said quietly after giving the female the tonic to mask her scent so neither of them could be tracked. Thanks to Jennifer, he had intimate knowledge of the floor plan on the pack house, where to hide and the quickest way to escape. He stood, lifting Cassidy from the water and quickly making his way out of the bathroom and into the main bedroom where he made a direct line for the double doors that let to the balcony. The grounds were mostly clear now with the fight being over and it was fairly easy for him to jump down carefully and carry the BlackStone Luna from her territory.
Cassidy had tried to call out. To scream and get someone to come and help her. Save her from this deranged man that was nothing but a traitor. She felt panic welling up inside of her when she couldn't even make a sound. All she was able to do was lay in the mans arms as she watched her home disappear as she was whisked away through the trees.

James and his men along with the TallTree pack had ran the rogues out of both territories. It was a long chase, but they finally accomplished it and took the time to help make the other alpha’s pack lands secure. It was hours since he left his own territory and he was itching to get back to Cassidy and get her back into his arms.
“I believe everything is secure. My son went to the southern territory to hold things down there for me while I reclaim our place up here.” The TallTree’s Alpha said to James and held out his hand to the young, but strong alpha. “I would like to set up some kind of alliance with you. Or an arrangement perhaps. Nothing set in stone right now, just something to think about?” the older wolf asked hopefully.
James looked down at the extended hand and scowled. BlackStone had stood alone for so long… but… perhaps it was time for change. Time to start calling on other packs to be able to rely on more than just themselves. “I will think about it.” He said gruffly and took the man’s hand, giving it a firm shake. “Call me if anything turns up. Keep your men on guard and within sight of each other on your borders.” He instructed and gave a Sharp whistle for his own men to gather back to him.
The wolves all gathered and those who had not been in their wolven forms quickly shifted with their alpha when he transformed into his own wolf. The alpha from TallTree gave James a respectful bow that earned him a confused look before the massive black wolf took off in a dead run back for his own territory. James’ wolf had been antsy and anxious, worried for his mate. Any time that he had returned home from any of the skirmishes before Cassidy, he had always felt numb. It was the only way he could describe how his emotions had been turning before the little she-wolf came into his life. Right now, he felt like a pup on the inside running down for Christmas morning. Everything he wanted in his life was back at his pack home.
James was so eager to get home, even his Beta and brothers were having a difficult time keeping up with the speed he was setting. He raced as fast as possible back to BlackStone and didn't slow down until he was entering the pack house. The house was still crowded with minor injures from men and women who had fought while the more serious injuries had been taken to the hospital.
“James Black! No wolves in the house!” Macy yelled from where she was tending her own mates wounds.
James ignored his mother and followed his mates scent right up the stairs. He only stopped when he reached the hallway that led to their rooms. It took the alpha only a few short seconds to shift, his body breaking and reforming to his human self. He had sustained a decent wound to his flank during the fight when a rogue had ripped into him, but it was the only injury he had taken and it was already mostly healed.
Her scent led directly to his door and he went into his own room, unable to hold back the smile on his face. The scent of mint was strong. James already knew exactly where Cassidy was. He had complained the day she brought her bathing oils to his room after she had all but moved in. It had been a light hearted complaint, but he loved the scent on her.
James went directly to the bathroom and pushed open the door, coming to a stop and losing his smile instantly. Water was standing everywhere… and what was left in the tub was tinted red. Going forward, he dipped his hand into the now lukewarm water and his heart skipped a few beats. “Cassidy?” he called out, looking around for some sign of her. When there was none, he went to her room and checked her own bathroom and closet, calling out for her as panic began to set in.
