78. Welcome Party

Chapter Seventy Eight; Welcoming Party.

Miya’s POV

From a distance, we could hear loud noises blaring off the speakers and see some people heading towards that way.

We followed and soon arrived at the venue designated for the party.

It seemed the whole of blood pack had gathered there and Cherry was right, we were nowhere overdressed for the occasion, considering the clothes people were wearing, in fact, we were dressed perfectly for the occasion.

We entered the hall filled with a lot of people and suddenly felt the mood of the party, it was very light, casual and still friendly, there were even a lot of drinks that didn’t have alcohol in them and some with just mild alcohol and I was just glad.

We went to the counter and got maltina and coke for Cherry, then the party started officially after the Alpha made his infamous speech.

I didn’t pay attention to him, when he stood on the podium and held the microphone in his hand, with the headlight shining only on him and the other colored lights adding to the magnitude of his presence, he looked rather very handsome in his black jeans trouser and body hug camouflage shirt.

Although I am still angry at him, I couldn’t lie to myself that he looked so handsome and I was feeling strange just looking at him, as if I had missed him.

I came to this party and got in a good mood, only to be disturbed by this painstakingly handsome man who I never want to see, yet the same whom I have missed so much.

Maybe it was because of the other night, but I feel connected to him in ways that I could not explain.

One thing I am glad though is for the fact that he was metres away from me so I don't have to have that awkward face off with him.

Soon after his speech, the DJ put on a loud music and many people crowded in the center of the hall and danced to their hearts content

It was really a happy even for them, I could tell, unfortunately I am not all that happy so I picked up Cherry’s hand and dragged her to the side of the dance floor where there were chairs and we could comfortably seat out of peoples way.

“Miya, where are you dragging me to?”

“To the seats, did you see the people on the dance floor? I don’t want to be hit by someone”

I held unto her and pushed by a cluster of people dancing together until we came to a relatively scarce area.

Relieved I sat down and expected Cherry to do the same but she didn’t, she even had a twisted look on her face.

“Why did you drag me here? The party was just starting but you brought me here”

“Were you going to dance? Sorry I didn’t know” I really didn’t, she doesn’t appear to me like someone who would dance with so much people in the open like this.

“It’s fine forget it, we’ve left the dance floor already”

“You can always go back to the dance floor if you really need it, I’ll just be here.”

I seriously told her to go and make herself comfortable.

“No it’s fine, I’ll just walk around until I find Gerald, do you wanna come with me?”

“No, am good, I’ll just be here when you are done, there’s a really good view here”. I lord, there’s nothing like you’d view, only a bunch of youths dancing away and others were chatting.

“Okay bye”. She didn’t even tried to persuade me but stormed off into the crowd.

Once again, I was lost in my thoughts with nothing to do but to drink my malt and learn some dance moves from certain people in front of me.

I soon noticed that my drink has finished and I decided to go to the counter to get more drink, I didn’t know that just when I arrived, I would bump into a certain someone.

“Miya, you came to the party!” He was so full of excitement and hugged me the moment we met.

“Gerald, you speak as if you were so sure I wouldn’t be here, I mean it’s a party wooyah!” I shouted trying to match his enthusiasm.

“Well maybe because you’ve gone MIA these past few days, one minute, we was all training and ready to conquer the world through medical assistant and the next, you just disappeared into thin air, what’s up girl?”

How could I explain to him that I didn’t show up because I was running from their Alpha, it will just spark up more question than the already asked.

“Hey have you seen Cherry? She was just looking for you, did you guys miss the road or something?”

“Are you trying to change the topic Miya?”

“Of cause not, why would I want to change the topic, I am serious, I just remembered that she said she’ll look for you but then if you are here, it means that she still hasn’t found you achew”.

As if the universe wanted to say otherwise, I had to sneeze at the wrong time like this.

“Sorry, I think a bee just passed by and I sneezed because I am allergic to them, but no cause for alarm, am fine, it’s not that serious”.

Before he makes a big deal out of nothing, I had to draw his attention from it.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I am positive, come here”

I narrowed my eye when I saw his hands gesturing towards him, we were standing at least two feet away from each other but he ask me this, does he want me to make body contact with him?

Ah no, I don’t think so, I stood still where I had been standing, but then he lived closer to me and starched forth his hand towards my face just when I wanted to shift back from him.

Then he wiped away something from my face, I didn’t get to know what the thing was when a strong forced pulled him away from me.
