Chapter 219 Chapter 219
CHIARA: And it will help the Pack as a whole.” I asked and said through the link. “I wouldn’t mind love, but do we even have those kinds of numbers anywhere?” Jayden asked. “I think we can get them easily enough. But I know that the Pack's finances will take a hit for it.” I said. “I think we can manage.” Caiden said, “Thank you.” I said and closed the link. “Iesha, let's go shopping, and we need to bring some special people with us.” “Who?” “You’re going to think I’m crazy, but I want to bring a couple of 8-year-olds, boy and girl, a couple of 13-year-olds, boy and girl, and a couple of 17-year-olds, boy and girl.” I tell her. “And since it’s winter break, we don’t have to worry about anyone missing school.” I added. “What on earth for?” she asked me. “Well, I want to start a tradition, of every three years we buy the kids of the Pack Christmas/Yule gifts, and since I have no clue as to what they would want, we need the expertise of those we are going to buy for.” “You’re a nut. But you’re my nut, and I love you.” “Love you too. Soooo? What do you think?” “Yeah, let’s do it.” So, we went to a few of the Pack members' homes that we knew had kids in the age ranges and asked them to join us on a shopping spree. And once that was done, the twins and I went to find a tree for the common area of the pack house, where we would be giving out the gifts. We, as in the girls, had the Pack house decked out to the nines. I am not one to be that showy, but it was the Pack house; it needed to be big, bright, and bold. So, I let them lead the way on that front. But our personal space was a bit more subdued, quiet. I don’t know how the twins liked things; it was our first Yuel season together. So, I’ll be learning as I go. But I have a feeling that they aren’t the over-the-top showy type. Tasteful, yes, flashy no. Well, except when it came to my Luna ceremony, then they pulled out all the stops. But other than that, they were the more conservative type, which I appreciated. It took us girls a full two days to get everything sorted and wrapped, and ready to be given out after the dinner on Yule. Just like the Thanksgiving meal, Yule was a success. The kids loved their gifts, and if they weren’t happy with them, they traded amongst themselves to get what they liked. I was happy it turned out as well as it did. But I probably won’t go quite the same route again. I’ll just bring things to the daycare, and then the orphanage. I was settling into my role as Luna; I was helping in the hospital alongside Hayley. She actually started to take online classes to become a full-fledged nurse. I was proud of her. I also had my schedule set up where I would be at the daycare two days a week. And I would spend some of my time checking in with the older pack members to see if they needed anything, or if I could help them with anything. I kept the weekends for myself and close friends. I trained with the twins and Leanna. Showing and setting a good example to and for the Pack. And it helped me build my self-confidence, to know that I could take care of myself, or help some of the other Pack members if it ever came down to it. I started the new tradition of a pack-wide meal and run on every Goddess Day. It helped to strengthen and boost Pack's morale, because it let everyone get to know each other. Yes, even the pups got in on the run; they rode on the backs of family members so they too could feel part of the pack, even though they didn’t have their wolves yet. The rest of the winter seemed to fly by. The next thing we knew, we were saying goodbye to Bandi and Matthew, and the rest of the warriors who were going to Medow Brook for training. And shortly after that, both Iesha and I went into our first heats. The 5 of us were locked in our quarters for a week. I took their knots both singly and together. And if I don’t end up being with pup after everything we did, it will be a miracle. But I hope I am. Maybe even twins. The king sent word that they found the Black Willow wolves guilty of the charges of the breeding program. And they were executed. They broke ground on the two obstacle courses, which was fun to watch. The kids couldn’t wait to start using them. … Turned out that yes, both Iesha and I were with pups. I was grateful for that because then my pup and my best friend’s pup would grow up together. It was a crazy year, but I managed to get through it. With the help of my best friend and my wolf. I never thought that I would ever feel safe with the twins, but now I don’t think I’d feel safe without them. I am grateful to the goddess and Jace, yes, I still miss him, but I know he is with me, watching over us. And yes, even though it started out harsh and rough, both the twins and I needed to go through the lessons we went through to build a stronger pack, a better pack, and a safer pack for everyone.
The End.
I want to dedicate this book to those loved ones I lost in the two years I have been writing.
