31. Seducing your stepfather
Olivia's POV.
I folded my arms and glared at her. She was speechless for a while, trying to find her words. I was disappointed. If André was telling the truth, then it was extremely obvious.
“What? Who said…? How do…?
I watched her stammer in disappointment. She couldn't even lie because the truth of it all was so glaring.
Finally, she was able to find her voice and she spoke harshly to me.
"What are you even talking about? How dare you insinuate such?"
"It's a simple question mother. Is André really my stepfather? It shouldn't be too hard to give an answer. You did marry him after all, didn't you? Am I expecting a little brother or sister anytime soon?”
She looked at me mortified but I simply stood there and stared blankly at her. Deep down though, I savored the surprise and shock in her face. I wish I had a camera and could take a picture of this beautiful and picturesque moment.
Suddenly, a cynical smile tugged at her lips. She scoffed and then her eyes were fixed sternly on me.
"Oh, I see where this is going. You are trying to make advances on your stepfather. I knew that you were a little whore. Slut! I had known this all along! Always stealing the attention of the men in my life! You did that when I was with your father and now that he's dead, you have set your sights on your stepfather. You're a sick child!"
I scoffed and my cheeks turned red in anger.
“Don't you dare call me a slut! If anything, it should be you. You have a daughter but you still feel it's okay to go man-hopping. That's a slutty move if I ever saw one."
“Even if I stayed, your father wasn't worth anything!" she snapped back angrily. “He showered you with way too much attention. I could even believe that you two were getting together all this while I was away. He gave you the attention that he never gave me!"
"At least he loved me and cared about me! Unlike you, who ditched us for your new sweetheart the first chance you got. You are undeserving of any kind of attention!"
My mother was silent and my mouth finally clamped shut. I still had more venom to spit at her but I wanted her to make the first move.
However, her voice was now still and calm. I could feel the malicious intent in every word that she spoke.
"I have nothing more to say to you. But I will say this and say this only once. This game you think that you are trying to play with André, I advise that you end it.”
She stood up to her full height and glared down at me. Her red lips were pursed angrily together and her eyebrows were curved downwards in malevolence. Every word she spoke sounded threatening.
“I don't care who you are. Daughter or not, nothing and no one, especially not a low pathetic life like you, will come between the life that I have built for myself. Make one wrong move and I swear by the Goddess, I'll send you packing faster than you can say your father's name."
I scoffed and then away from her. She was so clueless. I had wanted to leave even before now. If she sent me away, she was doing me a huge favor.
I watched as Nicole walked away and she gave me one last death stare before she slammed the door behind her. My room shook with the force but soon, all was silent.
I stood there and waited for my anger to burn away slowly. Was my argument with her really worth it?
I exhaled and went to my bed. I lay down and stared at the ceiling. I lay in silence and slowly, guilt began to seep into my heart.
She was right. She had put a lot of effort into getting into the position that she was in and now, I was just going to take it all away in one swoop.
I hated my mother but I wasn't that cruel.
However, in all that guilt, there was some contentment. I had something that my mother desperately wanted but she would never get. André loved me and never even looked at my mother when she tried to woo him.
The look of guilt in her eyes was more than enough to confirm what André had told me. It had all been laid out. Nothing was hidden. She knew that something like this was going to probably happen but I wasn't ready to just steal all her hard work and years of investment from right under her nose.
Finally, I sighed and turned to the bedside table. It was afternoon and the sun was out and in all its glory. Its rays seeped and the heat soon became unbearable. I fanned myself with my hand but it still didn't do much for me.
"I need to have a shower."
I stood up and yanked off my clothes, grabbed my towel and headed into the bathroom.
I felt the cold spray of water all over me and I felt my mind and body relax. In the silence and gentle splashing of the water, thoughts of André crossed my mind.
I remembered what we did a few hours ago in the garden and the feelings of pleasure all rushed to me again as my fingers unknowingly grazed my bud.
He had been gentle and sweet and I could still hear the way he groaned in my ear as he thrusted in and out of me. I could still taste his lips on mine and I ran my tongue over my button lips in subtle desire. I sighed in pleasure and let the water run over me again. So much was happening to me and so fast. It was different, it made me scared and nervous but it wasn't as bad as I had thought it all to be.
