38; The Aftermath.

Freya’s POV

You’d know how quick a nightmare could wake someone faster than anything.

I rubbed my eyes tiredly, looking around my surroundings to make sure that was a dream, nothing more than that. It wasn’t. I wasn’t tied to a chair in a weird place and a demon was floating around me. I was in a safe place but I had no idea where.

I looked around confused, I could tell, I was already back at the Mansion. From the bare white wall of the sitting room to the familiar smell of spice that accumulates in the house.

I don’t know how I got back here, from what I remembered. We were out clubbing like Celine had suggested. Where was she anyways?

I searched around the couch, I laid in for my phone with half-closed eyelids.

The brightness of the phone screen did nothing to help my pounding headache. I needed to know Celine was safe. We are supposed to be together since I had remembered us at the club together.

I tried to recall the events of last night. But I couldn’t, last night's memory was hazy.

You’d know that feeling of you forgetting something, but can’t remember what. That was what I was experiencing right now.

My thighs were hurting from how tight the dress I had work was. Whoever had brought me home didn’t consider changing me out of last night’s clothes.

I dialed Celine's number, she picked up after the first ring. Sounding cherry as ever like we were both drunk out of our asses last night.

“Tone it down, some people are experiencing the aftermath of a night out” I moaned. Lucky her, she didn’t sound like she was hung over, rather she sounds like she had the best night out.

“It seems you are hung over” she chuckled. “It is probably because you aren’t used to drinking”

“I can’t even remember the event that took place last night. Where are you?” I could hear some shuffle in the background and silence followed after.

“Don’t tell me you went home with someone and left me all by myself?” That was the only conclusion that came to my mind. And if so, who brought me home?

“No” she shouted, thinking I was mad with her when it was the latter. I would have been disappointed if it was what happened since she had been the one to suggest the night out.

I touched my forehead “Celine!” I moaned.

“Sorry, I forgot” she laughed, possibly with a grimace on her face. I knew her too well by now. “The thing is that I am with Ethan” she whispered.

My eyebrows shot up in surprise, I could remember her clearly stating her hate for him. “Ethan?”

“It isn’t what you are thinking, I somehow ended up here. He thought it was best I stay here and let Oliver cool down”

I was confused more than ever. The story my consciousness had formulated in my head wasn’t rhyming with what she was saying. “Oliver knows we went out?”

“Unfortunately. He had hired someone to watch you. He even saw us going out the window and decided not to stop us” She sighed. “He was so mad last night. I swear I could see steam coming out of his ears.”

“Shit, I am doomed.” I looked around the house. It didn’t look like anyone was home.

“It looks like you can’t remember anything that happened at all last night”

“Aside from that. Is there anything I should be aware of?” I needed to know how much trouble I was going to be in with Oliver.

She was quiet for a while. “You don’t remember meeting Will?”

“Not at all. Aside from the restaurant. Was he in the club with us?”

“Yes, he was. I thought it was something you should remember. That asshole had tried to force himself on you.” She paused, allowing me to embrace it. Still, I couldn’t. “Oliver had appeared at the right time. Like he had always been there.”

“What then happened?” I asked in my head. All possible thoughts occupied my head at once. I felt lightheaded.

“Oliver beat the shit out of him. It is a miracle Will didn’t die cause he was looking so bloody” She was amazed. I could tell by her tone of voice.

I kept mute. Last night's memory became clearer. I had sat on the couch all alone, Celine had gone to fetch us drinks. Everyone was dancing with each other as I watched them do so.

I could remember seeing Bianca and Chloe at the club. The people that had made me a laughing jester in high school. They had gotten their faces made like me and Celine had predicted. It felt like a high school reunion rather than a coincidence..

The moment that had sashayed away was when Will had thought it best to show up. He was looking mad stricken probably from the weed he held in between his index and middle fingers. His insanity this time wasn’t hidden by fancy clothes or robes. This time he was shirtless only in a pair of jeans.

“Baby girl, you left me all alone at the restaurant.” He feigned hurt, slumping down on the empty space beside me.

“I had a customer to attend to” I shifted. Causing the arm he had encircled around my neck to only touch my shoulder.

“Liar liar pants on fire.” I had to opine, he was really childish as Oliver had claimed him to be. My eyes had searched around for Celine. She had opted to be back after all, the bar was not far from where I had sat.

“I knew you were hiding, and I wanted so badly to play that game with you but my father won’t let me” he jutted his bottom lips out, coming closer to me. He had been in my breathing space. “I will leave you to make it up to me.” He trailed his disgusting finger down my cheeks to the swelling of my breast.

“Freya!” The sound of Celine’s voice broke through the barrier my memory had created against reality.

I think I am going to be sick.
