31; A bargain

I loved the fear gleaming in their eyes. If it was possible in their big size they shrink into the chair, wanting to get far away from me.

“You better start speaking” I snarled, my claws coming out on display. I knew this wasn’t the place for the torture I was about to unleash on them but what gives my office is soundproof. They could shout all they want.

I picked up a spanner, standing up I went around them. Both hands are on each of their shoulders.

“W..we were sent” he stuttered, they were still lying to my face when I had everything about that miserable life on paper—damn this fucking bears.

“Sent?” I decided to play this game with them, they knew how to play the game but doesn’t know how to win “You still think I am a fool don’t you?” I laughed with no single wit of humor in my laughter. I found it funny they did think I was a fool.

“No, I swear on my life,” the second one said. At least he was truthful about something, his real name was James but that doesn’t mean I was going to spear him.

I play with the knife in my hand, walking them on their shoulders. Eric stood there at the corner of the room watching and he knew better not to intervene.

“Let’s see, you lied to me, wanted to scam me, and thought it was proper to call mine a whore. How many offenses are that?” I looked at Eric.

He shook his head with a smile on his face “3 or it is more than that considering they had disrespected your power as an alpha.”

Johnson got off from his chair having had enough of the game he had decided to have “Let us take this outside. Since you are so powerful let’s see how far you can with two bears” he snarled.

“Low-ranking bears, you had forgotten to add those” I smiled, it was nice seeing him get all riled up, it would be easy to put him in his place, when his main focus was to defeat me— stupid bears.

His second shook his head also knowing this was going to be a bad idea but what could he do? They had already betted on my name.

“Be my guest, whenever you are ready” I smirked, this was going to be easy besides it had been long since I had shifted. I was going to kill 2 birds with one stone.

“Don’t you think this is a bad idea?” Eric mind linked me, his face contorting in worry.

“Are you also doubting my power?” I asked, looking at him with a brow raised as the bears were conversing between themselves.

“No, alpha” he bowed his head.

“Good, let's head out” I discarded my suit jacket and we went out the door.

The forest was empty, we had decided this was the perfect spot since we weren’t going to attract fear in the mind of passersby.

“Are you both ready?” Eric asked as the men shifted into their bear form.

“And you alpha?” He looked at me. I smiled not bothering to shift. That would be a waste of my clothing if I could easily defeat them.

“Why aren’t you shifting?” Eric asked through the mind link.

“There would be no need for that” I brought out my claws watching them snarled at me in anger. Good that was what I wanted— a fight, not a child’s play.

“Begin!” Eric yelled, leaving the middle of us both in our stance.

“There is still time to drop whatever attitude you have in there and now. Maybe I would reconsider spearing your life” I smirked “Who am I kidding? You are going to die today and only by my hands”

The statement must have tipped them off as they came barreling their way like a force toward me.

I had to dodge their face-attacking as their paw wanted to slam into me. I used my claw to scratch the neck of the one who I could identify as Johnson because of his scent. He cowered away in hurt.

It was easier than I had expected as they both changed into their naked human form. Most of their skin was covered with injury caused by my claw. The other part was covered with blood they had gotten from their injury.

They both cuddle themselves in pain, whimpering.

“Spare u..us alpha” James pleaded as he staggered to stand.

“Don’t you think it is too late for that?” I asked looking at their almost lifeless form. Bears couldn’t heal fast like us werewolves. It was going to take about two weeks or so for them to be able to be healthy.

“Take them to the dungeon” I ordered to Eric “and report back to me as soon as possible, we have a packed business to get to”

I was at the park house. Stephanie and Eric sat in front of me. She was a strong werewolf and Eric had suggested we involve her in the matters of the park. This was to prove her worth.

“How is the matter at hand like?”I asked looking a distress Eric. Ethan would have been here but he has said he had something doing.

“He won’t stop, and he had been ignoring the letters I had sent to him” Eric responded.

He referred to our neighboring pack alpha. Something had trespassed between a pack member and his son. His son's mate had decided to have a relationship with another man that wasn’t her mate and they were in love.

He had ordered to have her to return to their pack and destroy whatever relationship she had going on with the pack member but the girl in question had refused to.

“Where are the lady and man as requested?” I asked looking at Eric.

“They are both outside waiting to be welcomed in”

“Alright, let them in”

The lady which I had been told her name was Melody stood beside a well-known member of the pack— the son of the army general of the pack. I looked down at their joined hands and knew right then it was only death that could tear them apart.

“Good day alpha” they both bowed. I nodded my head at their greeting.

“So tell me how long has this been going on?”

“For about a year and a half,” Elvis said.

“And how did you both meet?”

“My father had gone to see someone in the neighboring, I went with him and ran into her. We have been sending letters to each other till she relocated here.”

I nodded my head in understanding “And was she taken, the time you both met?”

“Not of which I know of” he looked at her waiting for her to say something.

“No alpha, I hadn’t even found my mate as of that time.” she bowed.

“Good, you do know the alpha’s son has requested you back don’t you?”I looked pointedly at her.

“I can’t go back to him, when I had tried to reject him he almost hurt me” she cried, her boyfriend rubbing his palm on her back.

“I can’t let her go alpha, please help us” he pleaded.

“Alright, you are free to go. We would see what we can do about it.”

“Thank you” they both left leaving the three of us in the office.

“What should we do now?”Eric asked looking at him.

“send him a letter, requesting his presence at my house. Maybe we could strike a deal and he would choose another lady from this pack for his son. What do you think?”

“That would work out, replacing her with another,” Stephanie said.

“Great, you both can go.” I gestured at the door “And Eric don’t forget, I would be expecting him by noon tomorrow.”

“Alright Alpha” Eric walked out while Stephanie still stood back. I looked at her wondering what she was still doing here.

She walked slowly to me allowing my gaze to rake up her body. She was on a black short gown that hung to her hip. She was the kind of tall lady that would make a guy crazy but not me— I already had my eyes on someone else.

“You seemed stressed. Need some relief?” She placed her hand on my shoulder leaning down so her face was close to mine. I could see the curve of her face from how down she leaned.

Without restraint, I peeled her hand away from my shoulder “Don’t touch me”

She pouted. Great another whiny one. “But we are engaged”

“On tv not in reality.” I looked away from her “Please leave I have some things to settle”

“I could—“

“I won’t repeat myself, Stephanie, leave” I used my alpha voice knowing she was in no way going to refuse it. She scurried out leaving the door open after her— the fuck was she on.

Now to wait for the arrival of the rival pack alpha.
