19. Whom you dare.
Freya's Pov
Dinner was served, it was past the appropriate time he usually ate, however, and he was still not back home. I could eat alright without being questioned but I just didn't want to.
Well, the actual truth was that eating with him at the same table was the only chance I could get to steal glances at him. Yeah, I hated myself so much for that, however, what is living for? To feel your heartbeat quicken just at the sight of the person it held, isn't that correct?
I heard his car pull over at the mansion, I jumped with bizarre strange joy surging the borders of my being. I walked through the window and watched him come out of his car.
Disappointment replaced the ecstasy feeling I experienced some seconds ago when I saw his face. He looked cold, very dangerous, and eager to bite anyone who crossed paths with him. The old part of him I hated so much was here again to spend the night or probably stay till God knows when.
What happened to him anyway? The thought hit me, how was I going to tell him about what I heard at my workplace? He wasn't even going to listen to me. I quickly returned to the living room as he was close to getting in.
You can have excuses for the results! I was going to talk to him disregarding how chilly I saw him. The door opened and my insides tightened with uncertainty—perhaps fear. I didn't know the exact word for the description but there was just some feeling.
"Good evening, Sir." He stopped and looked at me with disgust. I was already acquainted with this form of compliment so I smiled sheepishly. What the heck! I slapped my forehead, why in Heaven's name do I always forget to call him Alpha?
"Good evening, Alpha Oliver." I greeted him appropriately and he flounced without saying something familiar to him as, 'Are you still here?' Well, that was at least better, I could argue with him while I watched his face.
I settled on the sofa, half annoyed with his return to his old personality and half happy he was home safe and sound. I stood up, determination and springing in me to see him, and asked what made him like that.
His door wasn't entirely closed, with one eye open, I scanned the room and he was nowhere to be found. With careful and deliberate steps I entered.
"What do you want?" His voice was cold, echoing through the room and making me startled. He was standing behind the door. Fuck! I thought no one was inside.
"I asked you a question, what do you want?" He asked again and I looked down, part of me sorry for myself.
"I am sorry, Alpha Oliver."
"Don't be as stupid as you already look, is ‘I am sorry’ an answer to the question I asked you? This is what my grandma is failing to acknowledge, you should never be here, you don't deserve to." And that was how it all came about.
I said sorry because, in most of the books I read, it's written that saying sorry cools a person. And it was true, however, this man before me wasn't a human. I knew that for sure.
"Get lost," he shouted at me. I looked at him and he was staring back, his eyes burning with anger.
"What if I don't want to, will you bite me? Try and you will know how to face your grandma when she arrives looking for me. Come on, bite me" I challenged, as defiant as ever.
He kept looking at me, his eyes piercing into my soul and scaring me away. I resisted and watched him back intently.
"Are you challenging me? Do you think I can't throw you out on the street? You think too little of me, Freya, you have no idea who you are dealing with, you stupid thing." She said and turned around to face his room.
"Well, you are mistaken, I know you are a beast. And I know you can also be a human—a kind-hearted and generous human for that matter. I don't know what has suddenly germinated in you, I don't really care... Just know you have become so ugly and I hate that."
I said, forgetting to respect him because I was in his mansion. No, respect is given to whom respect is due! He won't insult me and I will watch him because he's the most handsome man that ever existed. Besides, he didn't hire me, and there was no way he could throw me out.
"Get out of my room, I can't stand you." He whispered and I flinched, this particular statement got me right under my skin. He went too far, I stepped back, and the door was already opened so I just ran out of the door.
I went straight to sit at the dining table and started eating like I have never eaten before. It wasn't because I was hungry, just that I was so angry and it would be best if I directed it to the meal.
After eating and cleaning, I waited for him to get down but he never did. Seconds flew into minutes and the minutes into hours. I yawned, sleep was consuming me. I got up from the sofa and headed to my bedroom.
I was sleeping when I heard a knock at my door. My heart leaped, it was definitely Alpha Oliver was knocking. There was no way Grandma could travel back in this raging thunderstorm.
I heaved, slightly disappointed as I opened the door to find his Beta.
"Sorry to wake you, Alpha Oliver said prepare him soup." My eyes were blurry, and my hearing wasn't but I asked him to say that again.
"I said, Alpha Oliver said to make him soup." He said and then flounced, avoiding the tantrums I was probably going to rain on him. How could this man be so cruel? It was so cold, who wouldn't love to be buried in their bed with a heavy comforter covering them entirely?
There was no way I was going to make him do that. He could kill me the next day, I just wasn't going to do that, never! I closed the door and climbed into bed. The alarm read 8:58 pm. It was so late anyway.
I wrapped the comforter around me and then shut my eyes tightly, forcing myself to sleep. It was hard, very difficult to fall asleep when I knew I was refusing his orders. Why couldn't I think of him as any regular guy? Why couldn't I treat him as such?
I sat on the bed, flickered on the bedside lamp, and then hugged my knees to my chest as I placed my head on it. The thunderstorm was gradually growing stronger, making me start to fear.
Perhaps it was better to tell him I cannot make soup because I was scared of the storm. I doubt he was even going to listen, he's learned to bulletproof selfishness. What was I going to do now?
He could have told me before sending me out of his room. But he didn't, all he remembered was to insult me because I was the only one at his mercy.
I ripped the comforter and moved out of bed, heading for his bedroom. I was going to tell him my mind like I did before. Now I did not fear him, I was even ready to experience the extreme he could go.
Without knocking, I entered, and guess what? I froze at the sight of him. He stood still, my eyes on him intently. My God! He was just what I wanted right now, especially with how cold it was.
Watching him fully naked before me was making me think of nothing but the dreams I had of the two of us. How my fingers dug his biceps when he hit me hard. This wasn't my first time though, why come I have become so needy?
Slowly, my gaze traveled up, I looked at him and his expression was unreadable. I blinked as he moved a step closer, I was convinced enough with his second step. I knew this was going to be how I was going to lose my virginity.
This wasn't how I planned it to be nonetheless, I wouldn't regret anything if it was to him I lost to. Actually, it was going to be a dream come true for me.
"How dare you enter my bedroom without knocking, useless girl?" I blinked again, still lost in the world where he was making love with me. I managed to look into his eyes, his expression softened, his boyishness surfacing.
"What are you staring at? Do you want me to make you scream your lungs out?" He whispered as he came so close to me.
"What do you mean, Alpha Oliver?" I asked in the same tone he spoke.
"You know what I mean, so speak before I change my mind and send you out, Freya."
"Yes...ah, no, I... I don't know." I stammered a reply as I felt his hand grip me.
