Marked her soon

Marked her soon

I grinned as I stood at the edge of the bed, my arms folded, staring down at Shanella. She lay there, tied and unconscious, her chest rising and falling softly. The moonlight spilling through the window bathed her pale skin, and a dark satisfaction coiled in my chest. At last, she was here. At last, she was mine.

“This is where you belong,” I muttered under my breath, my wolf growling in agreement. I could almost feel him pacing inside me, eager to mark her, to claim her.

Behind me, Joseph’s voice broke the quiet. “Dad,” he said, crossing his arms as he leaned against the doorway, “if Brad and Shanella’s father—Alpha Ethan—find out we abducted her, they’ll go wild. They’ll bring their entire pack here. You know they won’t stop until they find her. Are we ready for that?”

I turned to face him, my grin fading into a hard frown. “No one will know,” I said firmly, my voice low and commanding. “We covered our tracks, Joseph. Gwen won’t tell anyone. She’s too desperate to clear her own name. And Brad? Brad will think rogues took her. He’ll waste time sniffing around the wrong places.”

Joseph didn’t look convinced. His jaw tightened. “You’re taking a big risk, Dad. This isn’t just any she-wolf. She’s the daughter of Alpha Ethan. She’s important to them. Do you think they’ll let this go?”

I stepped closer to him, my wolf bristling at the hint of challenge in his tone. “Listen to me, Joseph. I will marry Shanella, whether she likes it or not. She’s my mate. My wolf chose her. No Alpha, no pack, no Brad is going to take her from me.”

Joseph exhaled sharply and shook his head. “And if she refuses? What if she fights you when she wakes up?”

“She can fight all she wants,” I growled, my claws threatening to push through my skin. “She’ll learn. She’ll submit to me sooner or later. She has no choice.”

I turned back toward the bed, letting my eyes trace over her once more. Her hair spilled across the pillow, her wrists bound tight. She looked fragile, but I knew the fire that burned in her spirit. I’d seen it before. That was part of why I wanted her. She wasn’t weak. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, even if it meant defying me.

My wolf rumbled in my head. Take her now. Mark her. Make sure everyone knows she’s yours before Brad finds her scent.

“Not yet,” I whispered back, earning a confused look from Joseph.

“What?” he asked.

I smirked faintly. “I’m talking to my wolf. He wants me to mark her now.”

Joseph straightened, his expression sharpening. “Then do it. What are you waiting for?”

I narrowed my eyes. “I’ll mark her when she’s awake. When she knows who she belongs to. I want her to look into my eyes and realize that no one is coming to save her. I want her to feel it.”

Lucas, who had been silent until now, finally stepped into the room. “Alpha,” he said carefully, “with all due respect, this plan will only work if we stay hidden. We can’t stay here long. The Furious Mad Pack may be full of rogues, but even rogues talk. Word could spread.”

I glanced at him. “Then keep them quiet. If anyone asks questions, you know what to do.”

Lucas gave a curt nod, his loyalty unquestionable.

Joseph still didn’t look satisfied. “You’re risking everything for one girl,” he said, his voice tight.

I rounded on him, my temper flaring. “She is not just one girl, Joseph! She is my mate. Do you understand what that means? My wolf will go mad without her. I will go mad without her. I have waited too long to find her, and I won’t let her go now that she’s here.”

Joseph swallowed hard, his shoulders sagging slightly. “I just don’t want this to end with both of us dead.”

I let out a harsh laugh. “If Brad wants to come for her, let him. If Alpha Ethan wants to start a war, let him. I’ll be ready. This is my territory now. This pack may have been rogue once, but I’ve turned it into something stronger. We are not afraid of war.”

Lucas spoke up again, quieter this time. “Then we prepare. We double the patrols. No one gets near this place without our knowledge.”

“Good,” I said with a sharp nod. “Do it tonight. I want guards at every corner. If Brad even dares to set foot near this territory, I want to know before he takes his next breath.”

Lucas left the room without another word. Joseph lingered, still looking troubled.

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. “Joseph, I know you don’t understand. But one day, when you find your mate, you’ll see. You’ll understand why I’m doing this.”

He hesitated before finally nodding. “I hope you’re right, Dad.”

“Go get some rest,” I told him. “I’ll watch her tonight. If she wakes up, I want to be the first thing she sees.”

Joseph nodded again, reluctantly this time, before leaving the room.

When I was finally alone with Shanella, I sat down on the edge of the bed, my fingers brushing a stray lock of hair from her face.

“You’ll hate me at first,” I murmured softly. “But in time, you’ll see that this is where you belong. You’re mine, Shanella. You were always meant to be mine. Now, no one can separate us again. I'll kill them all!”

My wolf purred with approval, his hunger pressing against my control. Soon, I promised him silently. We’ll claim her soon.

I leaned back, watching her sleep, feeling a strange mix of triumph and anticipation. Tomorrow, everything would change. Tomorrow, she would wake up in a world where I was her Alpha, her mate, and the only one she could rely on.

And I would make sure she never forgot it.
