Chapter 101: Justice On the Shores
Chapter 101: Justice On the Shores
Darian and Melissa
When Darian was dragged forward, his defiance was raw. He strained against his chains, eyes blazing. “You humiliated me, Damien!” he roared. “You stole everything — respect, honor, her!” His gaze flicked to Coletta, and his teeth bared in a feral snarl. “I would burn kingdoms to ash before I bow to you.”
Damien’s voice was low, heavy with sorrow. “You were my brother-in-arms once, Darian. You chose this path. And now it ends here.”
Melissa came next, and the tribunal stiffened at her presence. For years, she had moved in shadow, weaving plots under noble banners. Now she stood revealed — a traitor, a conspirator with both the Forgotten Coven and the Serpent zealots.
Her lips curled in a cold smile. “You think your thrones are safe because I am bound? You fools. You cannot kill what already roots in blood. Calister and Damon’s dream did not die with them. We carried it. And others will too.”
Coletta’s eyes narrowed. “And you carried your own house into ruin. Your name will be remembered only as treachery.”
Melissa’s smile only widened.

The Escape Attempt
The tribunal turned to deliver their final sentences. Executioners stood ready, blades gleaming in torchlight.
And then the air shuddered.
The coven witches, though shackled, began to chant in unison, blood bubbling from their tongues. Symbols burned into the sand, glowing crimson as the chains on Thorne, Darian, and Melissa shivered and cracked.
With a roar, Darian snapped his bonds, surging to his feet. Thorne lunged with unnatural speed, striking down two guards before they could react. Melissa’s eyes blazed red as the coven’s spell wrapped around her, cloaking her in dark fire.
“Now!” Thorne bellowed. “Rise, Serpent! Rise!”
Panic rippled across the shore as prisoners surged against their bonds.
But Coletta did not flinch.
She raised her hand, and the earth itself answered. Roots burst from the sand, coiling like serpents of their own, seizing ankles and throats. The torches flared white-hot, blinding, and the moon above blazed as if lending her its fury.
“Enough!” her voice thundered. “This ends here.”
The roots crushed the runes, shattering the coven’s spell. Darian was thrown to the ground, his body pinned. Melissa screamed as vines bound her arms, their thorns burning against her skin. Thorne struggled, roaring defiance, but even he could not break free. Nature itself had judged him, and he was found wanting.
The prisoners stilled. The witches fell silent. And the battlefield knew once again the weight of silence.

The Verdict
The tribunal reconvened as the captives writhed in their bonds. Varian’s voice rang out like a hammer striking stone. “The South will not shelter traitors. Let all here bear witness: the houses who aided Calister, Damon, and the Serpent Gate are dissolved. Their lands seized, their banners burned.”
Damien spoke next, his gaze locked on Thorne. “For treason, for bloodshed, for all the lives you cost — you, Thorne Blackwood, are sentenced to death.”
Ruth lifted her staff, her voice trembling with both sorrow and conviction. “And so too Darian, who abandoned blood and brotherhood, and Melissa, who sold kingdoms for power. Let their legacy die here.”
The crowd roared approval.
But only Coletta stepped forward. Her eyes burned silver, her voice steady as the sea. “Their lives will end by my hand — not as vengeance, but as balance. The shard is no longer theirs to twist. The prophecy is fulfilled not in war, but in justice. And justice is now.”
The torches flared, the shard pulsed, and the condemned knew their end had come.

As the executions were prepared, the night itself seemed to exhale. The war was over. The traitors were defeated. The shard was secured.
And for the first time in years, the North and South stood united under one sky, not as rivals, but as survivors of the same storm. As witnesses of the great prophecy unfolding.
All that was left was to gaze into the future with renewed sight. Varian no longer uttered accusations to the North. Instead, he looked at Coletta with an admiring gaze! The fulfillment of a destiny!
Coletta lowered her hand, silver eyes dimming, and looked toward Damien. His hand brushed hers — quiet, lovingly,
grounding.
The war was won.
Now, at last, they could go home.
