Chapter 274
"I want to welcome the one woman who, because of which, happiness was finally brought into my life." Lucious's eyes locked with Haven's as he spoke
and a small smile graced his lips.
It was time to announce his son's name, and he had been called on stage. As expected, everyone would be waiting to hear him announce the mother of his child, but Lucious had something else in mind. He was going to introduce the one whom he truly loved, the one who really deserved to stand by his side.
"Ever since she's returned, my life has been filled with nothing but joy. " His powerful voice travelled across the quiet hall. " She has given me my world and the best gift a man could ever ask for, her whole heart." A slight frown made its way up Lucious' face, seeing Haven start to walk away from there.
'Where was she going?' He wondered, and the frown on his face deepened.
Did she think he was talking about Natasha? Lucious nearly face-palmed himself. It seemed today was just not his lucky day. The past days he's spent practicing and trying to perfect all that he wanted to say were all going to waste now. He had to stop Haven before she left and ruined the day for them all.
"This woman," He hurriedly added, "Is none other than Haven." A smirk made its way to his face when he saw her stop. "Yes, she is none other than my partner, my woman, my mate, my Luna, and the love of my life… Haven"
The expression on his face softened, the smirk replaced with a beautiful smile as he stepped down. The crowd parted ways, allowing him a clear path to his beloved.
"My love," Lucious held Haven's hands when he reached her. He stared into her teary eyes. "I know things haven't been roses these past few days. A lot might have changed, but one thing remains for sure." He paused and gave her hands a little squeeze.
"You are the only woman who deserves to be by my side. Only you," He wiped off the tears on her cheeks and said, watching the sides of Haven's lips slowly curve up in a smile.
"Now, will you do the honors of coming up on stage?" He asked, "I want my child to be named by you and you alone." A soft gasp escaped Haven's lips.
"Me?" She asked in disbelief, Lucious nodded. She didn't get the chance to reply as Lucious began to lead her towards the stage.
Her eyes met with Natasha's boiling ones as she climbed the steps, and somehow, a smirk made its way to her face. She too gave her the same look which said 'Now this was a reaction worth seeing'
It was only till the moment the child was passed into Haven's arms that she realized how overwhelming the situation was. Expectant eyes stared at her from all directions, waiting to hear her answer after the name of the child was asked.
This was the first time Haven had actually seen the child this close. She couldn't deny the fact that he looked exactly like Lucious. He had the exact shade of ocean blue eyes, and even his nose was like that of Lucious. The only thing he took from his mother was the light brown hair he sported.
Haven had never imagined a day would come when she would be on a stage and about to name a child of her own, mate, and another woman. She froze, mouth unmoving and mind blank.
"My love," Lucious gave her hand a gentle squeeze, his waiting eyes staring at her just like everyone else. "What do you want to name him?" He asked ever so softly.
"K– Kyle," Haven blurted out without thinking. Her eyes met the baby's, who was staring back at her, and a small smile climbed up Haven's lips. His name would be Kyle," She announced.
"Kyle…" Lucious allowed the name roll off his tongue, "I love it." He too smiled. And that was how the Alpha's first son was named, Kyle D'Occtaine, amidst the cheers and jubilation. Haven glanced at Rosie and Avena, who gave her a thumbs up. Her gaze shifted to Natasha, who was literally boiling with rage. Her whole face was red, and it looked like she would explode any moment, but Haven didn't care.
She felt a little squeeze on her hands again and looked up to meet Lucious' ocean blue eyes, smiling at her.
'Now, this was all that mattered,' Haven told herself and smiled back.
The event was concluded, and Lucious left to attend to some guests. Haven was dragged by Rosie and Avena to another end, where she received countless greetings and many congratulations. Soon, she was exhausted and decided it was time to go home. She excused herself from the girls who were staying a bit longer and left for the elevator.
Haven had just gotten in, pressed the button when someone rushed in, almost toppling her over. Alarmed, she looked up to meet angry caramel eyes staring daggers at her.
"You bitch!" Natasha cursed, almost screeching, "How dare you? How dare you?!" Her voice thundered. Haven's eyes darted towards the elevator door, which had closed now, and back to Natasha
"Why did you follow me?"
Natasha scoffed, "Are you seriously asking me that? Are you trying to fuck with me right now?"
Haven sighed. Natasha was blinded by rage, saying anything to her right now would only trigger her to create a scene. Haven wasn't interested in any unnecessary drama right now. She chose to ignore her and looked straight ahead.
"I am talking to you," Natasha glowered furiously. "How dare you ignore me?"
"Oh ha ha," She laughed and clapped her hands wildly. "I see it now. You must be feeling like a queen now because Lucious– my child's father brought you up stage instead of me."
"You're happy, aren't you?" She asked and scowled when Haven continued to ignore her.
"You bitchy slut!" Natasha's hand aimed for Haven's face, but was caught mid-air.
"Do not cross your limits, Natasha," Haven warned, her eyes now bored into Natasha's. "Do not forget, I am the Luna of this place. I am Lucious' mate, only I"
"You're nothing but a slut!" Natasha spat and yanked her hands away angrily.
Haven's brows raised. "Coming from a woman who left her husband to follow a rogue? Oh wow, I feel honored," She could almost see smoke coming out of Natasha's ears now. Haven expected another outburst but was surprised when a smile appeared on Natasha's face instead.
"You listen and listen to me carefully, Haven." Her venomous eyes bored into Haven's. "Lucious is mine and mine alone. I'll never let anyone take him away from me, not even you," She jabbed a finger at Haven, who glared back at her now.
"I don't care if he announced you his Luna in front of the whole world, he'll always remain mine, so I have a piece of advice for you." She smirked. "Pack your things and leave quietly, just like you did last time, if you don't want your scrawny heart to get broken again, because trust me, if you stay here, you'll have to watch your 'mate' keep choosing me and my child a million times over you."
Natasha was initially taller than Haven; the heels she wore made her tower over the latter. "You are nothing but a home wrecker," She accused. "I can't believe you're still here, even after knowing I am his wife and we have a child now." Her words jabbed Haven's heart viciously. She tried to say something, but no words left her lips as Natasha continued.
"Lucious has a family, he has one with me, not you. If you have any shame left in you, then you'll leave from here; otherwise, don't blame me for whatever happens to your unfortunate self now."
" Are you done?" Haven tilted her head. "Is that all?" She asked again. By this time, a soft ding reached their ears as the elevator came to a stop. Haven watched as the door behind Natasha slid open.
"Now you listen to me, Natasha." Haven's blue eyes returned to the woman scowling at her. "You can say and do whatever you want, but I'm certainly not leaving, not now. Not ever," She deadpanned and walked past Natasha, out of the elevator, before she turned to look back at her.
"Oh, and just to be clear, Lucious is already mine. He is my mate– given to me by the goddess herself." Haven met Natasha's fierce gaze with an equal one of hers. " I don't care if he was with you then; he is mine now. He belongs to me. And always will. Try to come in between us— if you dare"
