As Lucious knelt on the cold, hard floor, his heart pounded loudly against his chest. His hands trembled as he reached for her. Haven’s eyes glistened with tears but she didn’t stop him.

“I cannot live without you, Haven. Please, don’t leave me again” Lucious heard the desperation in his voice as he pleaded. Seeing Haven’s crying like this with so much sadness broke his heart but Lucious knew he couldn’t let go without a fight. He needed another chance to fix everything.

Lucious grasped Haven’s hands, intertwining their fingers together which sent sparks run across their skins “I know I’ve made mistakes,” He admitted, his voice barely above a whisper “But I can’t bear to see you leave. You’re my reason for waking up every morning. You’re my sunshine, my heart and without you, life seems meaningless. When you had left, everything had come to a stop for me, my whole world has stopped. You are my world, Haven”

Haven’s eyes glistened with tears at the sight of the man she loved kneeling before her. She stared at their intertwined hands and as much as it pained her she pulled away from his grip “I can’t bear the pain of staying here. I just can’t” Her voice trembled “We might have been fated to each other but maybe we’re just not destined to be together so I cannot stand in the way of your happiness anymore”

Every word she spoke pierced through Lucious heart like a thousand needles. He knew he failed her. He couldn’t be the man she deserved but he couldn’t let her. Not like this and not ever.

“I know I’ve hurt you, and I’m so sorry,” He implored “I can’t change the past, but I can promise you this—I will fight for us every day, with every breath I take. I will do whatever it takes to give you the happiness you deserve. I promise, I will make everything right again”

Haven could feel herself waver for a moment. Her leaving would be the right thing to do but Haven couldn’t bring herself to reject him after all he’s said to her. Was she prepared to give him one last chance?

Lucious knelt there, holding his breath as he waited for her response. The silence stretched on, an eternity of uncertainty, until finally, Haven responded.

“Okay,” She said, her voice laced with a mixture of hope and fear “i’ll stay, I won’t leave”

Her reply made Lucious release the breath he’s been holding. Relief washed over him immediately and he nodded, getting back to his feet. He made to hug her but she stopped him.

“I’ll stay, but that doesn’t mean I’m prepared to be with you or I’ll be here forever. I need time, time to think about everything again. And I.. I have to be with Axel too. So I’ll remain here for the meantime till I arrive at my decision”

Lucious nodded. As long as she would remain here, then he was okay with it. She could have all the time she wanted but he was going to ensure she never thinks of leaving again.

“Thank you,” His voice was laced with relief and gratitude “I promise I’ll make everything right again ” He watched her look at him one more time before turning to walk out the room, leaving him standing there a mixture of pain and hope in his eyes.



It’s been days since Haven had woken up, and things had started to change for the better. Haven spent her time with Avena and Rosie. She finally got time to spend with her sister after so many years and Rosie, well she had been ecstatic to find out Haven and Avena were sisters. The three had become really good friends.

Along with Rosie and Avena, she had started to take up her Luna duties under the guidance of Dayna. Luckily, Haven was the daughter of an Alpha and an Alpha herself, so she quickly adjusted to her duties without stress.

Every morning, she’d go round the pack to make sure everything was in order. She inspected the kitchen once in a while and was in charge of the upbringing of the little ones. This was one of the things she loved the most because she could spend all day with the little kids and her little Axel who had grown so quickly in such a short time.

Haven felt proud whenever she saw him running around alongside the other pups. Apart from all this, she also had to put time aside to visit the pack clinic and check up on the patients there.

It didn’t take long for the pack to finally see the “rogue girl” from before in a new light. It went without saying how Haven soon became their favorite and most cherished Luna.

The pack became lively once more.

During this time, Lucious was mostly out of the pack for work and on the occasions he returned, he made sure to give Haven all of his time and attention. At first, Haven objected to this but with time, she couldn’t bring herself to stay away from him. The mate bond didn’t help matters and soon, even if she hated to admit it, Haven found herself looking forward to spending time with him.

It helped matters that he really did as he said and tried his best to make things fine again. Haven hadn’t for once come across his former wife and she was grateful for that. She didn’t know what she looked like and didn’t even want to know. All Haven knew was that her time for delivery was due as she was kept updated about Natasha’s pregnancy by Dayna.

It wasn’t something Haven wanted to know but as the Luna, she had to be well updated about everything going on in the pack. The wellbeing of everyone laid in her hands— including Natasha’s.

Today happened to be a weekend and one of those occasions where Lucious was returning to the pack after being away for a while. Haven’s schedule was mostly free so she spent the day cleaning the Alpha’s apartment, watering the plants and doing some other chores.

It was late afternoon when she was done with all the work and she took a quick shower and threw on some casual clothes.

Haven sat in front of the large dressing mirror drying her hair when her eyes caught a file on her bedside table. She had taken it from Lucious’ to go through it and forgot to return it when she was done with it the previous night.

Haven glanced at the time, it was almost evening. Lucious could arrive any moment from now and shook and knowing him, he’d obviously drop by the office to complete pending paperwork before coming home. She’d better take it back.

She finished drying her hair and picked the file before heading for his office. On her way ,she stopped by the kitchen to make a hot cup of coffee for the Alpha. She figured he should be in his office already as she was a bit late.

Haven set the cup of coffee on a small tray before exiting the Alpha’s floor and arriving at the office floor. The office floor was pretty much empty as it was the weekend so She navigated her way through the corridors and arrived at the last office which had a door bigger than all the rest.

“ He’s back already” She mumbled with a smile when she saw the door had been left slightly opened. Shaking her head at how excited she suddenly felt, she pushed the door open and walked in, a smile beaming on her face.

“Welcome home, Alpha” She greeted the moment she stepped in. Lucious disliked it when she addressed him like that so she deliberately used it to pull his legs. Her eyes settled on the back of his office chair which was swinging left and right and stopped at the sound of her voice.

“You must be tired,” She said with a bright smile and walked to his table “I brought you your favorite coffee” She dropped the file first and then carefully set down the tray. A small frown made it’s way to her face when she noticed two mugs filled with coffee already there.

And this? She wondered seeing as it was also Lucious’ favorite coffee. But why were they two mugs?

“ Oh Lucious,” She giggled seeing the chair started to turn around to face her “ You didn’t have to get us—” The rest of the words got caught up in her throat a blonde woman’s face came into her view instead.

The woman sneered, looking at her from head to toe, an ugly scowl on her face “And who might you be?” She asked rudely.
“Oh, I see. Must be a kitchen omega.” She answered herself almost immediately seeing the tray in Haven’s hand “Who asked you to barge in here without permission? I never ordered for anything. You can leave” She waved her off.

“Excuse me?” Haven frowned in confusion looking at the stranger “ Who are you?”
