Chapter 251

Chapter 251
Natasha's POV

The days slipped by quietly as I immersed myself in the Moonlight Bridge Project.

This experience was completely different from anything I'd ever known. The determination and drive among members to bridge the gap between humans and werewolves made joining this cause feel almost sacred. I discovered my true value—not just protecting humans, but using my influence to create a more just and compassionate world.

I'm now sitting in the disinfection corridor of Wolf Haven Rehabilitation Center, where a nurse hands visitor badges to Alexander and me. The pungent antiseptic makes my nose crinkle—necessary evil to prevent outside scents from disturbing the recovering werewolf patients.

"How are they doing today?" Alexander asks the doctor in a hushed tone.

The doctor flips through the charts, his expression grave. "Mr. Bennett is stable, but Miss Adeline attempted to shift and escape again last night."

We're escorted to the visiting room where Marcus sits by the window, sunlight outlining his gaunt frame. His eyes light up when he spots us. "You came..."

"Marcus, you look so much better," I smile as I settle into the chair, trying to ease the tension hanging in the air. "Have you finished that garden painting?"

Marcus nods, a flicker of life dancing in his eyes. Meanwhile, Alexander approaches Adeline on the other side of the room. Their gazes lock, and she immediately turns away. "You shouldn't have brought her," she says, her voice awkward yet dripping with hostility.

"I understand how you feel," Alexander replies, his voice calm but resolute, "but Natasha is my mate. That won't change."

As we leave, a heavy sigh escapes my lips. "Always so difficult... but at least they're getting treatment."

Alexander squeezes my hand, his eyes determined. "Still better than facing life imprisonment like Victor."

Back at the Morgan apartment, Alexander tosses his tablet onto the sofa, frustration written all over his face. "The prison denied my visitation request. Again."

I bring two steaming cups of tea from the kitchen, offering him one. "Do you really want to see him?" I can't help but frown. Victor once tried to kill me and my unborn child—the memory still makes my skin crawl.

"No," Alexander says, massaging his temples, exhaustion evident in his voice. "I just need to make sure he's in no position to hurt anyone else."

The TV drones in the background: "Mrs. Morgan will host a charity ball tonight, her third major social event since the divorce..."

I curl up beside Alexander, resting my head on his shoulder, soaking in the warmth radiating from his powerful body. "Elena has taken over the Morgan family affairs brilliantly. Your mom is such a badass."

"She can finally be herself," Alexander smiles, his fingers lazily combing through my copper-red hair. "Just like you at those fancy balls."

A soft laugh bubbles up from my chest. "Who would have thought? The nanny who once trembled at werewolves' glances now mingles with Alphas like she owns the place."

Alexander's lips brush against my forehead, warm and tender. "You were never 'just a nanny.'"

In my classroom at Sapphire Moon Academy, I face a sea of curious little faces. Since my identity was revealed, every class feels like I'm fielding questions at a press conference.

"Ms. Foster! The newspaper says you can turn into a silver wolf. Is that true?" a little boy asks excitedly, hand shooting up.

I take a deep breath, set down my chalk, and try to maintain my composure. "Yes, children. But I'm also still your teacher."

That evening, I find myself reading through hateful letters from Lunawolf-haters.

"Put those down," Alexander appears behind me like a shadow, snatching the letters from my hands, his eyes flashing with barely contained anger. "There will always be people who fear change."

"They're calling me 'a threat to all werewolves,'" I whisper, my vision blurring as a lump forms in my throat. "I'm just... me."

Alexander drops to one knee before me, our eyes level, his hands cradling my face. "And that's exactly why they're terrified. You prove boundaries can be shattered." His gentle yet fierce gaze anchors my spiraling thoughts.

At the orphanage, I sit surrounded by children, weaving tales of the Lunawolf. "...so remember, being different doesn't mean being wrong."

Maria brings over a cup of tea, concern etched on her face. "You need to rest more, Natasha. Those raccoon eyes are telling tales."

"I'm fine," I insist, rubbing my aching back as I struggle to my feet. "I can't miss next week's integration program meeting."

Just as I stand, I spot Alexander leaning against his car by the entrance, waiting for who knows how long. My heart does that stupid little flip as I walk toward him, feeling the day's exhaustion magically evaporate. "Natasha? Burning the midnight oil at the orphanage again? It's pitch black outside!"

"Lost track of time," I smile wearily, sliding into the passenger seat. "The kids really needed me today."

Alexander's brow furrows, his concern palpable. "I need you rested too. We all need you healthy." His hand gently caresses my swollen belly, warm and reassuring.

I sink into the leather seat, my eyelids suddenly weighing a ton. "Just a few more weeks... the new policies need someone fighting for them..."

"The world won't crumble if you take a day off," Alexander says as he starts the engine, his voice gentle yet brooking no argument. "But if you crash and burn, my world will."

Alexander continues as CEO of WereCorp, but after the estate incident, he's transformed completely. He treats human employees with newfound fairness, even purchased Maria's orphanage outright, and donates generously to others across the city. We've quickly become Selene City's power couple in philanthropy.

At the charity gala, Alexander commands the room, microphone in hand: "The funds we raise tonight aren't just numbers—they're seeds for a better tomorrow..."

After the event, Alexander shows me the documents, his eyes gleaming with purpose: "Look at this—all these funds channeled directly into humanitarian projects." The gala was hosted by the "Moonlight Bridge Project," which has exploded in growth since we threw our weight behind it.

We're ridiculously happy together, no longer sneaking around or hiding our relationship. At home, we're just a little family. Even without some grand ceremony to make it official, I couldn't care less. All I can think about is meeting our little one.

At home, Sophia perches on my lap, her tiny hand splayed across my rounded belly, suddenly squealing with delight: "She kicked me!"

"She knows her big sister," I smile, running my fingers through Sophia's golden curls. "You're going to be the world's most amazing big sister."

Alexander strolls in balancing mugs of hot chocolate, his lips curving into that smile that still makes my heart stutter. "What are my favorite ladies plotting over here?"

"Baby talk," Sophia bounces excitedly. "Dad, do you think she'll be a silver wolf or a gray one?"

Alexander passes me a steaming mug and settles beside me, his warmth seeping into my side. "Whatever they're like, they'll be perfectly ours."

That fateful afternoon, I'm sprawled comfortably on the estate's living room sofa, flipping through parenting books, when I feel a warm rush between my legs.

"Oh!" I jolt upright in surprise.

Grace hurries in, spots the telltale wetness on the sofa, and her eyes widen. "Good heavens! Miss Foster, I'll notify Mr. Morgan immediately!"

Sophia peeks around the doorframe, curiosity written all over her little face. "Natasha, did you spill your drink on the sofa?"

I try for a smile, but my breathing's already picking up pace. "Not exactly, sweetie. It means the baby's ready to meet us."

Grace frantically dials, her voice urgent. "Mr. Morgan! It's Miss Foster... yes, her water broke! You need to get back here right now!"

I grip the sofa armrest, sweat beading on my forehead as the first contraction rips through me. "Huff... this hurts way more than I bargained for..."

Grace returns with ice chips and a cool cloth. "Breathe, Miss Foster. Werewolf babies are more active, which makes delivery... intense."

Sophia tugs anxiously at Grace's skirt, her blue eyes wide with concern. "Is Natasha hurting? What can I do to help?"

"You're already my superhero, princess," I force a smile through the pain, reaching for her hand. "Come here, tell me about your day at school..."

The front door practically flies off its hinges as Alexander bursts in, tie askew, hair wild like he's been running his hands through it. "Natasha!"

"What, did you shift and sprint all the way home?" I attempt to joke, but another contraction steals my breath.

Alexander drops to his knees before me, clutching my hand like a lifeline. "I'm so sorry, the meeting dragged on... are you okay? The baby?"

"Impatient little thing," I manage a wobbly smile. "Takes after their father that way."

In the car racing toward the hospital, Alexander grips the wheel with one hand and my fingers with the other. "Just hang in there, we're almost there."

"I can feel the baby moving inside me," I pant, my words coming in short bursts. "They're in such a hurry... God!"

Alexander passes me a small vial of shimmering blue liquid. "Crescent Elixir—it'll take the edge off. Elena had it made specially for you."

My hands shake as I down it. "Thanks... tell me everything's going to be fine..." My voice trembles with equal parts fear and anticipation.

"Better than fine," Alexander touches his forehead to mine, repeating the gesture three times—the werewolf blessing ritual that's become our thing. "I love you, and we've got this."

I attempt to mirror his confidence, returning the ritual touch. "Love you too... Jesus! Step on it, Alexander! This baby's making their grand entrance whether we're ready or not!"

Alexander floors it, his eyes flashing that werewolf gold that still makes my stomach flip. "Hold on tight, my Lunawolf. Our child is not debuting in this car, I promise you that."

I sink back against the seat, hands cradling my belly protectively, whispering through gritted teeth: "Come on, little one... we're dying to meet you..."
