I sat close to the hospital bed as I watched Monalisa sleep.She looked so peaceful and calm.I couldn't help but get worried about her. Jonas was present in the room and he looked so out of place.

My mother was around and her eyes were bloodshot from too much crying.

My heart pounded wildly against my ribcage when I realised that Monalisa was fluttering her eyelashes and she finally opened her eyes after sleeping for a while.

Monalisa frowned as she looked around and finally, realisation flashed in her eyes.

"My baby, where is my baby?"She asked me and I didn't know how to explain to her.Jonas and my mother rushed towards us.Monalisa looked at us and she frowned even more.

"Monalisa, "I called and heaved a deep sigh, "I tried my best but…"I paused and heaved a deep sigh,"She didn't make it."I told Lisa and tears flowed from my eyes.

I recalled how the ventilation breathing rhythm dropped when the little one was fighting for her life. I watched as life slipped away and there was nothing I could do to bring her back because it was beyond my control.

I tried my best but I wasn't able to save her life. I really tried. I looked away after informing Monalisa.

"No!"Monalisa screamed at the top of her lungs and Jonas hugged her so tightly in his arms.I recalled how a single tear dropped from Jonas's eyes when he watched his daughter die.

"This can't be, My little Aurora can't be dead."Monalisa protested and struggled to wake up from the bed and Jonas let her.

Monalisa staggered as she walked to the bed where her daughter was lying lifelessly. She picked up her daughter and more tears flowed from her eyes.

"You need to wake up Aurora, Mommy is here," Monalisa said in between the Sobs and hugged her daughter tightly. She breathed some air in her little nose and mouth but…it failed.

I know Monalisa was in denial and it will take her time to accept that indeed her daughter was dead.

Lisa cried while holding her daughter so close to her chest.She was grieving the loss of her daughter and we let her do it because it would help her heal fast and move on from it. 

I couldn't imagine what pain she was going through because I have never seen Monalisa cry this hard in her entire life. There is nothing that hurts the most like giving birth to a baby and she/he die before you can hold her/him in your arms.

Jonas wrapped his arms around Lisa and patted her back gently to comfort her. I know he was going through the same pain but he had to be strong for Monalisa.

After crying for minutes with the lifeless baby in her arms, Monalisa finally let the baby go and the doctors took her away.

"Monalisa, we need to get back to the castle so that you can have some rest and eat something.You need to eat healthy so that you can regain your strength,you haven't eaten for hours." I told her but she didn't say anything.

Jonas supported Lisa and we walked back to the castle. It was already night, the moon was not that bright and it looked gloomy. I think the moon goddess was helping Lisa to mourn the loss of my daughter. We headed to the Gamma wing and entered Lisa's room.

"I will go to prepare a bath for Monalisa, "My mother said and I nodded in agreement.

"Monalisa,I'm sorry for the lose.We will get through this.My mother and I are here if you need someone to talk to.It's going to be fine.You're not alone."I hugged Monalisa and patted her shoulders gently.

I wanted Monalisa to know that no matter what she goes through in her life, we will forever be there to support her and give her the strength to keep on going.

"The bath us ready.I will help her to take a bath."My mother suggested "Thank you for your help, Mrs. Isabella,"Jonas said and smiled at my mother.

"Don't mention, Monalisa is like a daughter to me."My mother said and helped Lisa to stand up from the couch and they headed to the bathroom.

It was quiet inside the room.Jonas was lost in his own world,heaved a deep sigh and ran his fingers through his brown hair and held onto it tightly.

"Monalisa needs you now more than ever, Jonas. It's hard for her to accept that her daughter is dead.It happens to women who give birth and their children die right away.I can't imagine what she's going through.It's painful and traumatising.She needs you.She needs us."I paused to take a breath.

"It will take some time for her to accept because it happens to anyone who losses their loved one unexpectedly."I reasoned out,I remember how it was hard for me to accept that my father died in war.It took me months to come in terms with the fact that my father is gone and that I would never see him again.

"What can I do so that she can heal faster? I can't stand the sight of watching Monalisa cry."He confessed and heaved another deep sigh.

"The only thing you can do is to be close to her and encourage her that it's not the end of everything.You need to assure her that you're going to have another baby in the future,that there is still hope.."Jonas nodded to my words and listened carefully.

"Going for a vacation can help too,but I'm not sure if it will work out.However,it can help because she will be away from the memories that remind her of the loss."Hades seemed to think about my idea keenly.

"I think I will give vacation idea a shot.There is no harm in trying."Jonas said and I nodded at his words.

"I will talk to the prince when he comes back."Jonas told me and I saw hope in his eyes. I just hope that Luciano will allow them to have some time alone and go on vacation.

After taking a bath, my mother helped Lisa to change into comfortable clothes in the bathroom. I asked Becca to bring dinner to Monalisa's room so that we could spend some time with her.

The queen was so sad when she heard the news and joined us to support Monalisa get through the difficult time.

"You need to eat something, Monalisa.Come on, it's delicious.I instructed the servants to prepare the soup just the way you like it."I scooped a spoonful of mushroom soup. It's one of Monalisa's favourites and that's why I asked the kitchen servants to prepare it for her.

"I don't feel like eating," Monalisa said and looked away, "I will take care of her."Jonas said,he took the bowl of soup from my hands and tried to feed her mate.

Monalisa swallowed the soup down her throat as though it was some bitter herbs. Jonas managed to feed her a small portion of food.I'm glad that she managed to eat.We stayed in Monalisa's room until she fell asleep.

"Jonas,we need to go and get some rest too,"I told him and he nodded,"You can reach us through the mind-link incase of anything."I looked at my mother and she nodded in confirmation.

"Thank you for being around for Monalisa."He said and I nodded, smiling at him.I looked at Monalisa who was sleeping soundly and hoped that she would be able to move on from what has happened.I know it isn't going to be that easy but,I just hope that she will.

"Are you going to spend the night with me?"My mother asked me as soon as we walked out of Monalisa's room.

"I will spend the night in our room today.Don"t worry,I'm going to be fine."I smiled at my mother and she nodded hesitantly.

I know my mother needed sometime with her mate and that's why I decided to spent the night in our room even if it feels lonely.

"In case you change your mind,let me know."She patted my shoulders and gave it a gentle squeeze.I nodded and smiled.

I walked straight to the Alpha's wing,the hallway was quiet since everyone was already asleep.Heaving a deep sigh,I twisted the metallic doorknob and opened the door. I changed into a sleeping gown and crawled under the warm blankets.

I tried to toss on the bed but a strong arm was wrapped around my waist which was preventing me from tossing and I couldn't help but frown…
