I watched as everyone praised Eliana. Killian's mom, his dad, and even James spoke about how great she was. How happy they were that she was a part of their family now. As soon as Killian took Eliana away, everyone started to laugh.

"I am shocked he lasted as long as he did. I could tell he was ready to leave as soon as they got here," One of the elders said

"Yeah, I guess you won. He lasted longer than I thought he would," one of the other elders said

"I can't believe you took bets," William said, and then he looked at James and Liam. Liam was handing James one hundred dollars.

"You two bet as well?" William said

"Yeah, I thought he was going to lose control as soon as he arrived. He made it way longer than I thought," Liam said, and William shook his head

"I guess the party is over. Whoever wants to stay and eat can. We are going to our room," Catherine said. Everyone said goodbye, and they left. One thing I noticed was that they liked Eliana way more than they like me. I can tell Catherine can''t stand me. William is nice to me, and I know it is because James asked him to be. I was sure William didn''t like me either. It was obvious that Liam didn't like me. He never did.

"Are you okay, Ashley? You seemed to be somewhere else all day," James said

"I am fine. I am just tired. Last night was a lot," I said

"I know. How about you come to my room and stay the night with me. I will look after you," James said

"I will go back to the guest room. I need some time alone," I replied. I could tell Liam didn't like that, but he didn't argue

"Okay. If you need me than let me know," James said

"I will," I replied, and I walked away. I could tell that James had been getting weaker because I had been keeping my distance. I felt a little bad about that, but I wasn't going to do something I didn't want to do. I didn't want him. I never had. There was only one person I had ever wanted. Killian. Just thinking about what he was doing with Eliana made me mad. How could she end up with him when I was the one who stood by his side?

I was done pretending I didn't want him. I tried to keep my feelings hidden, but no more. I was the one who deserved him. Eliana was a very powerful witch. I was sure she had cast a spell on him to make him think that they were fated mates. I had learned witches could do that.

I was sure that I was the one that was Killiian's fated mate. There was no other reason for my feelings. I wanted him so badly, and I knew that had to be because of the mate bond. All I had to do was make him see the truth. That I was his mate and not Eliana.

When I got back to the guest room that I had been staying at I jumped when I saw Vera and her sister standing in the room

"What the fuck are you doing here? What if someone comes and sees you?" I asked

"No one will see us. I covered our scent so they won't even know we are here," Liliana said

"What do you want?" I asked

"We need your help. We don't have anywhere else to go, and Vera won't leave until she finishes what she planned to do with Eliana," Liliana said

"No, I am not going to help you kill her. I didn't sign up for that," I said

"You weren't saying that when you helped us kidnap her last night," Vera said

"I thought you were just trying to get back at her by stopping her from being with Killian. I didn't know you planned on killing her," I said

"Oh, please. You didn't care what we were planning to do with her. You don't really care about her. You only care about Killian. If you want him then you have to help us get her. It's up to you. Do you want Killian or for Eliana to be okay?" Vera asked. There was no hesitation. I already knew what I wanted. Who I wanted. Killian and I were going to do anything I had to to get him

"What do you need me to do?" I asked, and Vera took a vial out of her purse

"I need you to slip this into Eliana's drink."

"What is it?" I asked

"It is the same thing I gave her mother the night she gave birth. It is what killed her," Vera said

I took the vial and put it in my pocket.

"Fine. I will do it," I said, and they smiled before disappearing

I didn't want it to be this way but Eliana gave me no choice. Killian was mine, and the only way for him to see it was if Eliana was gone...
