"Ashley was involved in your kidnapping. She was working with my mother," Lilian said, and that shocked me. There was no way Ashley would do that

"That is impossible. Ashley is my friend," I said.

"I am telling the truth. She came to see my mom and me. She said she wanted to help them kidnap you and take you away," Lillian said, shocking me

"Why would she do that? I don't believe she would do something like that to me," I said, but I was starting to worry I might be wrong. Ashley had been acting strangely. She definitely didn't seem happy for Killian and me.

"It is true. I am not lying. I told my mom this was a bad idea. I told her that she was wrong for mistreating you. She told me to stay out of it. After that, they spoke when I wasn't around. They would never speak about any of this in front of me. I know I should have said something sooner, but I was afraid. I didn't want my mom to get in trouble, but I also knew I couldn't let them hurt you. That is why I spoke up when you showed up to talk to my dad. He doesn't know anything about any of this."

"Wait! I didn't know your mom had a sister," I said

"Neither did I. I just found out. Honestly, there are a lot of things I didn't know about her," Lilian said

There was a knock on the door. "Come in," Killian said, and two guards walked inside with worried expressions on their faces.

"What's happened now?" Killian asked

"They escaped."

"How?" Killian growled

"They used magic to get away."

"What? Since when did they have powers?" Killian asked

"Vera's sister is a witch. I guess that means Vera must be one as well," I said. I had already come to that conclusion after they kidnapped me

"Yes, I just found out that my mom is a witch. She has been keeping it away from me," Lilian said

"You want us to believe that you had no idea that your mom was a witch," Cayson said

"I didn't. If you don't believe me then test me. She has been using some type of drug to keep my powers from appearing," Lilian said. I couldn't believe what she was saying. Her mom had been harming her to make sure no one found out that she was a witch. I never thought that she would hurt Lilian. She always treated her like a princess. So did Charles. Looking at Lilian's face and seeing all the pain showed me that she was telling the truth.

"You expect us to believe you?" Killian said

"I believe her," I replied, and he looked at me.

"I can tell she is telling the truth. Deep down I know she is," I said

That meant she might even be telling the truth about Ashley as well. I knew I needed to get to the bottom of everything...

"Oh, Eliana. I am so happy you are alright. I was so worried," Helena said, and she shocked me by hugging me tightly

"Um, thanks," I said, not knowing how else to respond.

"How are you feeling?" Catherine said

"I'm fine. I felt a little weak earlier when I first woke up after they injected me with whatever it was, but after that I was fine," I said

"Well, we need one of the doctors to look at you to make sure nothing is wrong," Helena said

"That's unnecessary," I said

"No, it's not. I was just thinking the same thing. I already called one of the doctors and told them to come," Killian said

"That is uncalled for. I said I was okay," I said

"I want to make sure you are," Killian replied, and I sighed

I could tell there was no way I was winning this argument. Everyone seemed to be on his side.

"Fine," I said

"You are okay, Queen Eliana. There are no signs of anything that we should worry about. Your labs came back normal," the royal doctor said. We had been waiting for over an hour for the blood tests to come back. Killian made the doctor do a full checkup to make sure that I was okay. I felt like he was going overboard, but I didn't say anything. I could feel through the bond how worried he was.

"Thank the Goddess," Catherine said

"Yeah, everything turned out great. Except for the fact that you didn't get to complete the mating ceremony," Tiara said. She had shown up after learning I was in the hospital getting a checkup. She was so relieved to see me.

"About that. I was thinking that you should complete the mating ceremony later on today. Everyone is still here, so it would be good to do it now instead of having to do it once everyone can get here again," Catherine said

"No, we should wait until Eliana is ready. She has had a long night," Killian said. I knew he wanted to finish the bond so bad, but he was more worried about me

"Actually, I think that is a good idea. I think we should do it today," I said

"Are you sure? I don't want you to push yourself," Killian said

"I am sure," I replied with a smile. Killian looked at me for a while to make sure I was one hundred percent ready. A smile made its way to his lips when he realized I was

"Okay, then we will finish the marking today," Killian replied

"Great! I will tell the others," William said

"Tell the others what?" Everyone turned to see Ashley standing there. She had on one of those hospital gowns.

"Eliana, I wanted to come check on you. How are you feeling?" Ashley asked

"I am fine. How about you?" I asked

"Fine," Ashley replied

"The doctors said that she is just fine. She barely has a scratch on her," James said. I looked at Killian, and he was already looking at me. It seemed strange that she was fine after being taken hostage by Vera. It made me wonder if what Lilian was saying was true.

"That's great," I said

"So, what were you talking about before?" Ashley asked

"Oh, Killian and I decided to finish the marking later on today," I said

"WHAT!" Ashley screamed, causing everyone to look at her. "I am sorry, but you went through a lot. I thought you might wait until you recover," Ashley said

"I am fine. Just like you, I didn't suffer many injuries. Plus, Killian and I are really ready to complete the bond fully," I said

"Right. I can't wait to be completely bonded to you, Love," Killian said

I looked at Ashley, and she looked heated.

"What is wrong, Ashley? You look mad," Tiara said

"No, I am happy. Eliana is my best friend. Of course I am happy for her."

Looking at her face I could tell she was not happy at all...
