Chapter 183
Vladimir:
I watched as Konstantin walked out of the house, leaving the Estate to me to take care of.
My eyes met Elena’s and the brightness that I saw in them was one that I was thankful for. I wanted to get her out of this hellhole, but I knew that with the things that are coming, I wouldn’t be able to do so as soon as I would want to.
“What’s on your mind, Vladimir?” Elena asked, taking a step toward me. I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her to my chest, and I couldn’t help but find myself smiling at my beauty.
“There is a lot for me to do,” I said, looking down at her. I did wish to spend the day with her, but I knew that with the number of things that I had to finish and deal with before Konstantin came back; that would be almost impossible.
“I do believe that we can spend the day together. You know, without the complications of Konstantin being around and the house being tense because of him?” She asked, and I smiled. I kissed her forehead, letting my lips linger there for a moment before pulling away to rest my forehead against her own.
“I wish, baby. But there are things that I am going to need to take care of. And trust me when I say that they are going to be one step closer to our relief.” I said, and she frowned in confusion. The two of us walked toward the living room, and I looked around at the maids and men who were in there. Most of them were now loyal to me, out of their loyalty to Konstantin. They knew to look for the new power that was to take over, and they knew to be smart when making their choices and movements.
I nodded at the men and women before turning my attention to my mate, knowing that our days in this place were limited. All I had to do was eliminate all the possible threats that were to come. And I was going to start with the woman who opposed the main danger to my mate. The woman who was going to do everything that she could to kill my woman.
“She is in your care,” I said, looking at Elena. Her eyes widened in surprise, and I knew that she didn’t understand what was going on. I cupped her cheeks and kissed her forehead, letting my lips linger there for a moment too long before pulling away to look her in the eye. “Our countdown has started, my beautiful malyshka. All I am going to need from you now is for you to be patient. And trust me when I say, I am going to have everyone bowing down to your feet…”
******************************
“You are growing more attached to her, Vladimir.” Killian said, raising an eyebrow at me.
“I believe that you would understand me more than anyone when it comes to that, Killian.” I said, and my Alpha nodded.
“She is going to be a threat to you at this stage though. You know, if you intend to end Konstantin, then he is going to be a lot more careful in what he is going to do. And that could end up with him putting her life in danger,” he said, and I nodded.
“And that is one of the reasons why I want us to end things. If we make our expansion here, if we end the trades that he is making…”
“I understand your rush, Vladimir.” He said, stopping me. “But you need to understand that our job is nowhere near being done with Konstantin. The man is yet to show you his true source of wealth, and if we are going to depend on what he is showing you when the two of you are in conflict, when he doesn’t trust you, then we might as well end up giving him everything for free.”
“I didn’t send you here to fall in love and forget your duties, and most importantly, I didn’t send you here to end up losing what you have given up. This is not only your effort, but also your mother’s. and you are going to end up breaking a lot if you lose what she has built.” He said, and I took a deep breath. “You can start by killing Renata’s mother. He gave her a new name to hide who she is. Yara,”
“If he is going to bring her over, she is going to be a threat to you, even more intense than her own daughter was considering that she is going to come for revenge. You are going to need to play your game against her accordingly, but you’re going to need to be sure not to catch Konstantin’s attention when you’re doing so.” He said, and I scoffed.
“The man is going to have his full attention on her, and if she is coming for revenge…”
“You are going to allow her to think that you are going to give it to her. What you are NOT going to do is kill her. Not for now, at least. We want someone to keep Konstantin at bay, and with her being around, she is going to play out and act as a spy; this is going to come in our benefit.” Killian said, and I raised an eyebrow. “We’ll deliver what we want him to hear, and we are going to start using that as a new method for you to earn his trust. At least, Batrov would be out of the way somehow, and we…”
“What do you mean by Batrov being out of the way?” I asked, and he smirked.
“I think that it is time to make your job a little easier. With his second hand being out of the way, it is going to be more in your benefit. It would serve as a little revenge game for your mate. The man has caused her more pain than he should be allowed to, might as well hit him where he least expects it…”
