~Alpha Kilhan~
Panting hard, I began to break into the rooms one after the other, leaving Charles and Drex to deal with the men who were watching and guarding the place.
I stormed into the fifth room, and what I saw made my eyes widen in terror. Celine sat on a chair and behind her was a man, who had a knife placed against her ear.
There was blood slowly flowing from her ear, letting me know he was starting to hurt her.
Immediately he saw I was in the room, he moved the knife to her neck.
“Take one more step and that is the end. Even though you kill me, I have nothing to lose.” He uttered, pressing the sharp part of the knife against her skin.
He pressed it so hard that she winced in pain while she stared at me with her teary eyes.
“Kilhan.” She called softly.
“Don’t you dare speak, woman!” He yelled, pressing the knife against her skin ever harder.
“Hey!” I put my hands forward, hoping he would stop. “Tell me what you want. I’ll give you anything. Just let them go.” I uttered, and he broke into laughter.
I furrowed my brows and looked at Betty. I wondered what was so funny to him.
“Keep your eyes on me, Kilhan!” Celine yelled, causing me to look at her and keep my gaze on her.
“What part of shut the hell up don’t you understand?!” The criminal yelled again.
“Celine, I’m here, okay? You don’t have to say a word.” After saying this to her, I looked at the criminal again.
“Why are you doing this?? If you want me, here I am. Just let her go. She’s innocent.” I uttered, and he let out a menacing laugh again.
“Innocent? The last time I checked, there was nothing innocent about Jessica. Or will I say, Celine? And don’t flatter yourself! I’m not here for you but for her.”
I furrowed my brows at the mention of the name “Jessica”. I could guess he was someone who knew her when she was still using that name.
“Who are you?” I asked, creasing my brows again. Deep down, I wanted Charles and Drex to find us as soon as possible so we could get this done.
“That’s a bold question, don’t you think? Given the fact that you almost strangled me to death on a full moon because of her.” He uttered, tilting his head.
I narrowed my gaze at him, trying to understand what he was talking about, and when I eventually recalled what he was talking about, my jaw dropped.
“Xavier?”
“He remembers my name too. Nice.”
“Are you doing this because of what happened years ago? Because I almost strangled you?” I asked in awe.
“Oh please, I’m not that jobless. But I still want to see you, both of you, suffer.”
Before I could respond, Charles and Drex stormed into the room too. “Celine!” Charles called, fuming in anger.
“None of you move!” Xavier yelled, and Charles stopped abruptly, looking at me.
“Did he just order me?” He asked in shock, and I nodded. “He’s going to hurt Celine.”
“Oh hell no, he’s not!” Charles responded, dashing to where Xavier stood, before he could do anything with his hands, Celine pushed herself backward on the chair, causing Xavier to lose balance.
Charles grabbed him and pulled him away, while I hastily got to Celine before she fell to the ground.
“What were you saying?” Charles asked, pushing him against the wall. He began to throw hard punches at his face and I didn't care.
I untied Celine’s restraints and she fell right into my arms.
“Hey baby, are you okay?” I asked, placing my hand on her bleeding neck.
“I’m fine. I knew you'd come for us. He has Kendrick. I want my son.” She mumbled tearily, embracing me tightly.
“Well get Kendrick back. I promise.”
I embraced her and turned to look at Betty who was getting released by Drex.
‘Why is she here too?’ I wondered. She kept staring at Celine, tears rolling down her cheeks too.
I looked at Charles and I saw he was still punching Xavier’s face. At this point, his face was covered with blood.
He let go of him, and he fell to the ground, almost lifeless. Charles ran to us and touched Celine’s back.
“Hey sister, are you alright?” He asked, and she raised her head from my chest. She proceeded to embrace him too.
“Thank you.” She muttered against his chest.
“Don’t thank me, Celine. I’ll do anything for my sister. To make sure you’re safe.”
While they interacted, I stood up from the ground and approached Xavier. I grabbed him by his clothes, raised him, and pinned him against the wall.
“Now tell me. Where is my son?” I muttered with gritted teeth. He managed to look at my face and he let out an evil smirk.
“Where the hell is my son?” I yelled, throwing another punch to his face.
“Let’s just get this over with,” Charles uttered from behind me angrily. He pushed me away and without hesitation, he dug his fingers into his chest.
“Charles!” Celine yelled in shock.
Xavier groaned aloud painfully, trying to reach for Charles’ hand in his chest.
“If you don’t want the easy way, then let’s do it the hard way. I won’t hesitate to pull out your heart as I can feel its warmth and your heartbeat right now. I may decide not to pull the shit out if you tell me where the hell you kept my nephew.
“I can’t guarantee that I won’t kill you even after telling me, but it’ll help you reduce the chances of you getting killed in such a brutal manner. I could help you die a hero or just bleed to death. Now speak!
“Where the hell is Kendrick?” He muttered with clenched jaws.
“Last room on the third floor.” He uttered weakly.
“Betty and I would go and check it out,” Drex uttered.
“I’m going with you, Betty can stay back,” Celine added, heading out of the room.
“Celine…”
“Not now, Betty!” Celine smacked at her, causing me to arch my brows.
‘What’s up with them?’
“Charles, please remove your hand from his chest,” I uttered, and Charles scoffed.
“Not yet. When I confirm Kendrick is alive and well, then I may consider not pulling his filthy heart out.” He answered adamantly.
“Whatever you want to do, you better do it now,” Xavier muttered.
“Who asked you to speak?” Charles asked, turning to look at him.
He smiled widely, exposing his blood-stained teeth. “You think you’ve won, haven’t you? You really thought you won?” Xavier uttered, causing me to crease my brows.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, moving closer to him.
“We found him!” Drex yelled, walking into the room. Behind him was Celine, who was holding Kendrick very close to her chest.
“He was left alone in that room! Why would you do that to him?!!” Celine yelled, moving closer to Betty.
“What are you doing??” I asked in confusion, moving closer to her.
“Betty was in on it! She knew everything and even helped him succeed.” Celine uttered, shaking her head in disgust.
“What? How is that possible?” I asked, looking at Betty.
“I swear I told him to call off the plan. Yes, I hated you before but it stopped. I see you as a sister now.” Betty mumbled in tears, and we all heard Xavier laugh.
“Shut the hell up,” Charles uttered, removing his hand from Xavier’s chest. I was pretty glad at some point that he didn’t pull his heart out.
“I wanted him to hurt you before but I changed my mind. I called him to tell him I wasn’t going to proceed with the plan anymore, and he agreed. Only for him to do this. I swear, I have changed.” Betty cried out.
“Oh please! I’m never believing any sh*t coming out from that mouth of yours! You put Kendrick in danger! He’s just a baby! How could you?” Celine further uttered.
I was so shocked that I didn’t know what to say, but I was very disappointed. Betty turned to look at me while she cried, and I shook my head, moving backward.
“I swear, Kilhan. I’m not that Betty anymore! This wasn’t supposed to happen.”
“But it did. Because of you, he got close to us. There’s nothing you can say, Betty. I don’t want to see you ever again.” Celine responded with anger and tears and made her way out of the room.
“I’ll go after her,” Drex uttered, hastily following behind her.
“You should be ashamed of yourself. When we are out of here, I’ll come back to you.” I uttered, walking back to Charles.
“Looks like you need to do some filtering. I can’t risk my sister getting hurt anymore, okay?” He stated.
“She would be taken care of,” I responded, and he looked at her.
“She better be. Now, what are we doing about this criminal? He’s going to bleed to death anyway. Let me make his death quick.” He said, and I shook my head.
“No. He’s suffered enough. Let him be. He can barely survive this. You don’t have to waste any more effort on him. Let’s just leave.” I answered, and he sighed as he began to make his way out of the room.
He got to Betty and stopped. “Stay away from my sister and her family.” He muttered before heading out.
I breathed out deeply and proceeded to leave too when my phone started to ring in my pocket. I took a halt to pull it out and see who was calling.
It was Alexander, one of my pack members. I arched my brows as I answered his call. It was very rare for him to call me.
‘This is strange.’ I thought.
“What is it, Alexander?” I asked, and I could hear him panting hard from the other end of the phone.
“Something bad happened, Alpha Kilhan. Something very bad.” He uttered with a shaky voice.
My heart skipped as I heard this. “What are you talking about?? What happened?”
“Your mother, Alpha Kilhan… She’s dead.”
My heart stopped beating for a second and my eyes slowly widened. “What?”
“She was murdered! After you all left, she retreated to her room. We were busy escorting the visitors out of the house, and when we got back, we found her dead, Alpha.”
My breathing grew intense, my chest rising and falling as I listened to him. I could feel the rage fueling inside of me. I threw my phone in my pocket and looked back at Xavier who was still struggling on the floor.
I raced down to him and pulled him by his bloody shirt. He was almost dead.
“You did it, didn’t you?!” I felt my claws protrude and my body temperature rise.
“I told you… you didn’t win… I still hurt you, didn’t I?” He mumbled this. I watched his lips slowly curve into a smile, and before he could fully smile, I dug my claws into his already-pierced chest.
His eyes widened and his breathing ceased.
“F**k you!” I yelled as I uprooted his heart from his chest.
