~Celine~
After my Father, Charles and some men left the house on a mission, I rushed into my room to pack the remaining necessities Kendrick would be needing, like the bedding in his bed.
When I was done, I had two bags filled with the necessary supplies. I placed them on the bed and waited to hear anything from outside my room.
A sign to tell me that it was time to sneak out of the house. While I waited with Kendrick in my arms, tiring him firmly to my chest, there was a knock on my door.
I sprang to my feet and hurried to the door. “Danny? Is that you?” I asked in a low tone.
“It’s Ashley. Come on, now. Danny has started causing trouble in the living room and other guards are heading there. It’s time to sneak out.” She uttered in a whisper.
I hastily opened the door and she hurried in. Without hesitation, she grabbed one of my bags, while I held onto the other and led me out of my room.
“We are going out through the back.”
“The back?” I asked in awe.
I never knew there was any other exit except the one in front.
“Yes, the back. The door lies at the end of the cell house. Not everyone knows it’s there. I’ve been taking my time to get very familiar with the place.” She responded, swaying the keys in the air for me to see.
We got to the stairs at the other end of the house and while we climbed down, I could see the chaos going on in the living room.
My eyes swiftly caught Danny’s face and my jaw dropped. His face was all mashed up very badly because of the fight. I felt so bad that he had to go through all that because of me.
“Celine, we have to move. Now.” Ashley uttered, pulling my hand while I hastily followed behind her. There was a door on our right that led right to the front of the cell house gate.
Getting to the door, she signaled to me to stop so she could check outside first. She opened the door and walked outside. I moved closer to the door to see and hear what was going on.
Just then, I found out that there were a few guards at the gate of the cell house. I bet they even knew what was going on.
“What are you all still doing here? There is a deadly fight going on in the living room. Aren’t you supposed to help stop it? Do you want Alpha Darius to come back home to see how stupid you all can get when he’s away? Go and stop the damn fight!” She yelled at them, and immediately, they hurried away from the gate in fear of being scolded by my father when he returned.
Ashley waved to me and I hurried towards her.
“Go! Enter the gate and keep going straight down until you get to the end of the hallway. There is a door with a huge padlock on it, use this key to open it and once you burst out of the compound, run and never come back.”
I nodded firmly, collecting the other luggage from her. I proceeded into the cell house and began to walk down as she had instructed me.
Though the cell house was completely dark and I couldn’t see a thing, I kept walking. I had no time to start searching my bags for my phone. So I just kept to a lane and walked and walked.
After walking for a few minutes, I placed one of my bags near my leg and stretched my hand forward. To my surprise, the tips of my fingers touched something hard in front of me.
“The door,” I muttered excitedly. Blinded by the darkness, I unzipped one of my bags and found my phone in no time. I turned it on and used its light to unlock the padlock.
Opening the door, I burst out on a tarred street. The streetlights illuminated my path, making it super easy for me to see. I shut the door behind me and proceeded to lock it from outside.
“Kendrick, we are out,” I muttered happily, grabbing my bags and running down the street.
‘Where the hell is Kilhan? He should be here now.’ Kiara uttered in frustration.
Just then, I heard the horn of a car approaching me from behind. I looked back and when I saw the car, I knew it was Kilhan. A wide smile lit my face as I hurried closer to the car.
The car parked next to me and I hastily opened the door and hopped into the back seat, throwing my bags in.
“Kilhan,” I called, almost embracing him when I looked in the rearview mirror and saw it wasn’t Kilhan.
“Hi, Miss Celine.” He greeted me with a faint smile as he began to drive off.
“Drex,” I called in awe.
“Alpha Kilhan sends his apologies. He is busy preparing the house you’d be staying in, that’s why he sent me instead.” He explained, and I nodded slowly.
“So you are with his phone?” I asked, and he nodded, raising Kilhan’s phone.
“Sit back, Miss Celine. This is going to be a long ride.” He uttered, and I nodded, letting out a deep sigh.
I loosened the fabric I used to carry Kendrick and let him lay on my arms. I looked up at Drex’s face, and when he caught a glimpse of Kendrick, he furrowed his brows.
“A baby?” He asked, and I nodded.
“Kilhan‘s baby,” I uttered, and I watched his jaw drop.
“You were pregnant the whole time?” He asked in shock, and I bobbed.
“Yes. I can’t wait to see the look on Kilhan’s face when he finds out.” I answered, smiling widely at Kendrick.
***
“Miss Celine, we are here.”
Drex’s voice woke me up. I looked at Kendrick first and saw he was fast asleep.
I looked outside the window and saw that the car had parked in front of a bungalow.
“I’ll help you with your bags,” Drex uttered, getting out of the driver’s seat. I carried Kendrick carefully and waited for Drex to open the door.
Just as I stepped out of the car, I heard the house door open. I looked up and saw Kilhan.
Staring at his face, my eyes shimmering with excitement and emotion. The last time he looked at me with such a loving gaze was before he rejected me.
“Celine.” He called, opening his arms as he walked down the stairs.
I couldn’t open my hands because I was carrying Kendrick, so I just waited for him to move closer.
As he got closer and closer, I saw his face divert from my face to the child I was carrying.
He took an abrupt stop and looked at my face again. He uttered no words, but his eyes saw so many things.
“Yes, Kilhan. He is your son.” I uttered, and to my greatest surprise, I saw a tear drop down his eye.
“My son?” He asked, and I nodded, this time, moving closer to him.
“I named him Kendrick,” I uttered with a wide smile as I stood right in front of him.
As soon as he saw Kendrick’s face clearly, it was as if something broke in him. More tears rolled down his cheeks as he softly touched his face with his fingers.
“You were pregnant?” He asked, and I nodded with tears in my eyes too.
“Yes. The day you sent me out of the house. The nurse told me I was pregnant. I took a test that confirmed it.” I muttered, and he covered his mouth with his hand.
“I… I had… I had no idea. I should’ve… listened to you. I’m sorry. I… I’m sorry.” He stuttered in tears, falling to his knees.
“Hey, it’s okay. You didn’t know.” I responded, going on my knees in front of him too.
“No. No. Celine, I should have been there for you and our son. I hate myself right now.” He mumbled, lowering his head.
Moved by his words, I went in to embrace him, even though I couldn’t do it well because of Kendrick.
“We understand. Kendrick understands.”
“I swear on my life, Celine. I’ll never ever leave you again. I swear.” He uttered, embracing me tightly.
“Kilhan, you’re going to suffocate Kendrick.” I cried out with a tearful chuckle.
“Oh my… I’m so sorry.” He pleaded, hastily getting off me.
I smiled widely as we both locked gazes with each other.
“I missed you so much.” He uttered, placing his hand on mine.
“You have no idea how much I missed you too,” I answered, and we both smiled at each other, still kneeling.
