Where am I?

Chapter Nineteen

Where am I?

Cadi's p o v

I wake up with a premonition of danger. I wonder where the danger could possibly come from, or what sort of danger it could be.

King Egad had announced to anyone who cared to listen that I was not going anywhere, he had made it clear to the council and every one else that as the Lycan king, his word was the final law, and no one had dared to challenge him.

So, there was no danger that I would fall back into Fera's clutches. I am safe here .

My babies are not in any danger as well, Siegard had told me yesterday that they were growing perfectly well with out any form of complications.

Wilmer had also assured me that their auras were sending out peaceful signals and every thing was progressing nicely, the way it should.

I shrugged off the premonition, and blamed it on the fact that I had not been outside for a while.

In hindsight, I realize that I should have paid more attention to my instincts, but I am determined to be chipper and cheerful and I play right in to their hands making every thing exceedingly easy for them.

The goddess did try to warn me in more ways than one, since I decided to ignore the premonition which I realize now, was a warning straight from her, she tried to thwart my plans and stop me from going outside; First I locked myself in and could not open my door, it took dozens of tries and tears of frustration to get it to open, then I couldn't find my comfortable pair of shoes and had to wear the pair that pinched my feet and hurt my calf muscles.

To crown it all, the handle of my picnic hamper broke on my way down the stairs and I had to go back and get a new one. I foolishly ignored all the warnings and did what I wanted.

I had been outside for barely an hour when the sky turned cloudy, I was dismayed by the turn of events, I was mumbling under my breath about uncooperative weather as I trudged back to my room carrying my enormous picnic hamper, which suddenly seemed to be ten times heavier than when I left in the morning.

I decided to have my picnic in my room, rather than return all the food to the kitchen. I was halfway up the stairs when I heard my name. I turned to see Megan standing in front of the formal dining room, waving and calling to me.

I sigh and turn back to go to her, when I feel something connect with the back of my head, the last thought in my head as I fall to the hard wooden floor is that Megan does not look surprised.

I wake up to darkness, and I know instantly that I'm not on my bed. Every where is as dark as possible, but I can tell that I'm not in my bed.

I don't know where I am, but I know it's not familiar, I'm very sure it's not some where I've been before.

I try to move my legs and arms, and realize that I can't, some one has been cruel enough to tie my hands and legs, together and tie them to the bed stead.

I struggle to open my eyes, but it makes no difference,as I'm also blind folded.

I try to call out, but my throat is dry and parched, and my voice comes out as a hoarse whisper.

I desperately need to pee, and I start to writh and try to hit my tied legs on the bed stead, hoping to make enough noise, so whoever my captor is can hear, me and come release me so I can go pee.

I hear a door open, and footsteps as some one comes in.

" Looks like our guest is finally awake." A shrill voice says.

" About time too," a hoarse gruff voice answered.

" I was starting to think we'd hit her too hard."

He continued.

I tried to talk but my throat was so dry, I couldn't get the words out.

" Looks like she's trying to say something." Shrill voice said.

" Her throat's probably dry ." Hoarse voice replied.

" Your's would be dry too if you've been tied up for as long as she has. Take off her blind folds and give her some water." He continued

I felt a hot breath on my face as my blindfold was yanked up.

I looked up into a pair of twinkling blue eyes that belonged to a man, who looked like some sort of Nordic giant, he was tall and exceedingly huge.

He splashed some water on my face, and held a bottle of water to my lips. I tried to drink, but it entered my nose and made me cough.

" You might as well untie her, it's not like she can go anywhere with both of us here." The hoarse voice said.

I looked across the room at another huge giant, he was bigger than the one in front of me .

He was as tall as a small house and as round as a barrel, I immediately started calling them shrill voice and barrel in my head.

" Bathroom?" I asked in a small voice as soon as shrill voice was done untieing me.

" Over there." He said pointing to a small door on the right.

I waddled over to the bathroom.

The bathroom was tiny, with a miniscule window.

All the thoughts of planning a glorious escape, through the bathroom window, flew out of mind as soon as I saw how tiny the window was.

Both my clenched fists couldn't even go through it at once.

I returned to the main room and sat on the bed, I picked up the water bottle I had dropped and looked around the room. I finally looked around the room.

It looked like a huge ware house, sacks and crates had been pushed to the sides to make room for the bed I was sitting on, a table and several chairs. The table held an accident cook stove, bottles of water, a box of instant noodles, a bunch of fast-food, a hot plate that looked like it was from the tyrannosaurus age and a bunch of plastic plates and cups.

There was an archaic looking fridge humming in the corner.

Shrill voice had been mixing some thing in a plastic cup, since I came out of the bathroom.

" For your head," he said. Handing it to me.

My head was throbbing but I did not reach for the cup.

I know it sounds crazy, but until that moment, I hadn't given any thought to the fact that they could hurt me.

" Where are we?" I asked instead.

" In an old bottling house, halfway between the Lycan capital and Red rock pack." Shrill voice answered.

" Why did you bring me here?"

" Because we were asked to."

" By who?"

" You'll find out soon enough." Barrel said.

" Now, take the herb, it'll ease the pain in your head."

" Come on, if we wanted to harm you we would have done it while you were knocked out." Shrill voice.

I eyed him warily.

" I think I'll pass, thank you."

He shrugged.

" Your call."

" I think I'll just lie back down, " I said , stretching out on the bed."

I lay there in trepidation watching Barrel whittle, while shrill voice cooked.
