Chapter 91 Celeste
Celeste's POV
“Who are the Alpha werewolf and the rogue the post’s creator is referring to?” Gamma Silas opened the day’s discussion with a question shared by millions of people who had seen the post.
“Our agents and cyber team will continue to search for the person behind that post,” Delta Giana said. “I wonder if he's a civilian or a rogue intel.”
“A civilian wouldn't dare make a post like that.” Beta Dylan shook his head. “He certainly knew the news he was spreading would attract a lot of attention.”
“If that person is a rogue intel…” Gamma Silas frowned. “It seems unlikely.” He shook his head as his head tilted. “He should have sold the information to the Alpha werewolf’s enemies.”
“It does sound odd that a rogue intel wrote that post,” Delta Giana said. “They make money selling information. They’re very stingy with information, yeah, just like us.” He shrugged.
“There’s no point guessing. We’ll have answers soon,” I said calmly while drizzling sauce over my fried chicken wings. “Our members will catch him.”
"But it's fun to guess who the perpetrator is." Gamma Silas grinned broadly.
“The Alpha is right. We need to trust our members’ ability to gather information, especially since this is a critical matter.” Beta Dylan looked at me intently. “It would be dangerous if that post was meant to expose your relationship between you and Alpha Eiden.”
The post about an Alpha werewolf having a child with a rogue, uploaded just yesterday, remained the hottest topic on the planet.
News like that alone kept many people awake, and they terrorized the post's creator, telling them who the two people he was referring to were.
“We have already found out who the Alpha werewolves are, whose partners are rogues, and we’ve only found one, but he’s not very well known, and he’s not allied with any packs and has no enemies.” Delta Giana read the five-page file with a knitted brow.
"If the person was talking about that Alpha werewolf, I'm not sure people would be surprised; they would definitely be disappointed." Gamma Silas inhaled the aroma of his tea before taking a sip. "Because it didn't meet their expectations."
"They guessed the person was revealing the secrets of Alpha Andrew, Alpha Romeo, Alpha Victor, Alpha Lucas, or Alpha Henry." Delta Giana placed the five-page file back on the table.
“They’re Alpha werewolves known for their warlike nature, which makes them frequent targets of slander,” Gamma Silas said, shaking his head in sympathy.
"Yeah, many people assume anyone who likes to fight enemies and destroy small packs or rogue groups must be a very bad person," Beta Dylan said disapprovingly.
I listened to their conversation about various things related to the Alpha werewolves.
The post didn't worry us much because no one suspected Alpha Eiden, which meant his disguise when he met my sons and me was perfect.
However, we would still catch the person who posted the post. We needed to know whose news he was spreading.
I stared out the window and munched on the chocolate donut after they left. Even though I was annoyed with Beta Dylan, I tried to enjoy the food and drink he provided.
I chatted with my wolf for a moment before taking care of the documents.
'I suspect the person who sent the message to Alpha Eiden is the one who made that post.' My wolf expressed her opinion.
‘The sender knows you’ve silenced many people who are aware of your secret, and he’s labeling you a dangerous woman,’ my wolf whispered, her eyes narrowing as if others could hear us.
'He must be a rogue intel,' I said as I took the cheese donut and chewed. 'Our agents haven’t been able to find the sender of the message, but they’re pretty sure all the rogue intels who know about Alpha Eiden and I have been paid hush money and are being watched.'
'I’m more curious about the mysterious sender of the message,' my wolf said.
'If the sender of that message and the person who posted it aren't rogue intel,' I tilted my head, my brows furrowing. 'There's no way he's a rogue assassin.'
'Even if he is, he's not from our group. Why give Alpha Eiden a hint about who you are? And then make a post like that?' My wolf's eyes flashed with confusion.
So many surprising things have happened lately.
Alpha Eiden still hasn't found out who the people who terrorized him and shot him in the ear are, and now he has something else to think about: that post bothering him.
I've calmed him down; he will listen to me.
My two sons and I had dinner. Then Liam video-called Alpha Eiden. They're getting closer, though still awkward.
“Mommy, do we really not need to worry about that post?” Liam handed me my phone after he finished talking to his father.
“I don’t think so. We already discussed this yesterday, right?” I shook my head, stroking his blond hair. “Have you changed your mind now?”
“Um, my friends are talking about it because their parents are busy speculating who the Alpha werewolf and rogue are, and even the gender and age of their children.” Liam looked at me, holding my hand tightly.
“Don’t worry.” I patted the back of his hand. “I’m pretty sure the person who posted it won’t reveal who they’re talking about because we’ll catch them first.”
“I hope so,” Liam said. “I trust your men.” He smiled, though it wasn’t genuine.
People do love to gossip. This morning, while I was waiting for Liam at the playground, Margot encouraged me to guess who the person posting was talking about.
Now I felt a wave of anxiety as I studied Liam's face and hair color, which resembled Alpha Eiden's. Liam wasn't wearing any scent-concealing perfume.
What if someone realized Liam looked like a younger version of Alpha Eiden?
Alpha Eiden isn't very well-known because he's not an Alpha who likes to attack enemies and rogue groups, but people are currently guessing who the werewolf Alpha is.
Even parents, teachers, and staff at Liam's kindergarten might be wondering who Liam's father is because of this post.
Our lives have been calm since Alpha Eiden made a deal with Alpha Jackson to keep each other's secrets, and my agents have been threatening and monitoring those intel rogues, but who would have thought that someone would upload a post that went viral within two hours?
I took a deep breath and exhaled three times, eyes closed, to calm myself and push away any negative thoughts.
“Nothing will happen.” I nodded, holding onto those words tightly.
Then I received a message from Alpha Eiden asking me about Liam.
It seemed Alpha Eiden was no longer anxious about the post, as he no longer discussed it with me.
\[Were you and your wolf anxious and heart-pounding the first time you fought?\] It wasn't a question that came out of the blue. I wanted to ask about that after my wolf trained with his wolf.
\[Yeah, of course. We imagined the pain we'd suffer and how long we'd last in battle. Everyone has those thoughts on their first day on the battlefield.\]
I smiled as I read his message. It made me nervous, but I felt a sense of relief.
\[My wolf is looking forward to Sunday. He can't wait to train with your wolf.\] Another message from Alpha Eiden.
My wolf's eyes lit up with embarrassment. I smiled at her reaction.
After getting to know Alpha Eiden for a few months, I can tell he's not as annoying and arrogant as I thought he was, just because he rejected me after we mate-bonded.
