Chapter 44

Blake's POV

"What do you mean a special wolf?" Aurora asked, and I stayed silent. I didn't mean to tell her that she had a special wolf. I could feel she was already overwhelmed after going through the heat, and I didn't want to add to that.

"Blake, tell me. I can feel you are worried that I won't be able to handle whatever you are hiding from me, but I deserve to know," Aurora said.

I knew she was right. This was about her, and she deserved to know what she was. Her mom and John should never have kept this away from her. Even if they weren't sure, she would have a wolf. There was a chance that she would, and she deserved to know what would happen if she did. I was madder at John than their mom because she was human. She didn't know how the first shift was, how painful it was even for someone who had prepared for it. John knew what it felt like to shift for the first time without preparing and still didn't tell Aurora what she could be. He was so mad at his mother for keeping this away from him that he ran away and never returned. Even after his experience, he did the same thing to Aurora that his mother did to him.

I wasn't going to be like them and keep anything from her. Aurora was my Mate and deserved to know the truth. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before exhaling and looking back at her. She was looking at me, waiting patiently for me to speak.

"White Wolves are rare and unique. They are very powerful," I said.

"And you believe that I am one of them?" Aurora asked

"I am positive you are one of them. The Mark on my neck proves that you are a White Wolf. You are a very special wolf," I said. I could tell Aurora was thinking about everything I was telling her. She was taking everything in and trying to figure everything out.

"But you said I should have turned into a wolf already. Why would I not have changed if I were a White Wolf?" She asked.

"I was wondering the same thing. White Wolves change at a younger age than regular ones because of their Royal Blood," I said without thinking.

"What do you mean Royal Blood?" Aurora asked.

"White Wolves are descendants of the royal family," I said.

"Royal family as in the King and Queen?" Aurora asked.

"Yes, but I am trying to figure out why you haven't shifted yet. It seems like you your wolf is starting to get stronger now. You going into heat proves that, and when you marked me, your canines extended, and your eyes turned black because your wolf was taking over while we were mating," I said. That is when something came to me. There was only one reason her wolf wouldn't have come out yet.

"Is there anything you have stopped taking since your mother's passing?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" Aurora asked

"Did your mother ever give you anything on a daily basis? Perhaps she had you take some type of pill. A vitamin maybe, someething she had you take daily?" I asked

"No, she never gave me any type of medicine or anything. Why are you asking me this?" Aurora asked, confused. Then she began to glare at me, and I knew she realized why I was asking her.

"You think my mother would drug me, don't you?" She asked

"That is the only reason I can think of that you haven't shifted yet. You are almost eighteen and have a special wolf. You should have shifted a long time ago. Someone had to have given you something to keep your wolf at bay," I replied.

"My mom would never do that to me. She loved me, and just because she never told me about werewolves doesn't mean she would drug me," Aurora said. But then, her facial expression suddenly changed, and I could tell she was thinking of something. I could hear her heartbeat begin to race. I could feel, through the bond, her emotions shift. She was starting to feel sad and betrayed. I couldn't help but feel sad as well. I was upset that my Mate was sad and on the verge of tears.

"What's wrong, My Love? Talk to me," I whispered.

"After John left, my mom started making me drink some type of tea in the morning. She made sure I drank it every day. I told her I hated the taste of it, but she always watched me and made sure I drank all of it in the morning, saying it was good for me and would keep me healthy. I stopped drinking it after she died," She said and looked at me with tears in her eyes. "Do you think the tea was the reason I never changed?" Aurora asked

"I am not sure. There is no way of knowing unless there was a way of testing it out to see what was in it," I said as I wiped the tears from her eyes.

"I kept the jar she kept the tea in and brought it with me when I moved here. I didn't want to throw it away because it belonged to my mom, but I hadn't drunk any since she was alive. I put it in the kitchen pantry on John's floor at the house," Aurora said. I was so happy she did drink any more of it.

"It is good that you didn't drink any of it. I am going to mind-link John and make sure he doesn't touch any of it. I will tell him to take it to one of the Pack Doctors so they can test it out to see what's in it. You said it is in the pantry?" I asked.

"It is in a Pink jar with flowers," Aurora said.

"Okay. I will mind-link John and let him know."
