Chapter thirty - Crying for us

Chapter thirty - Crying for us

[AZRAEL]

"Get Colin in my office fucking immediately!" I growled in anger.

I can't stand this anymore; it's been too much. Who would have known that most feared Alpha would fall on his knees just because of being away from his mate? A fucking week. A week, which feels like an eternity, absolute torture.

"We need her Azrael; we need her so much, please do something! Anything! Her wolf has been crying for us. I know she has been waiting for us to come! If we lose her, I swear to Moon Goddess herself that I will never forgive myself, I will never forgive you!" my wolf has been crazy since last day we had seen Ren. Our beautiful, perfect little mate.

"I know, I know. I can't stand it myself," I wouldn't dare to say anything more, he would get angry and take over. Being away from Ren has taken a lot from me; lately, I can't feel when my wolf is on edge, and he has taken over my body, without me noticing it, I couldn't stop him or get the control back.

I growled in frustration, right after that door slammed open and Colin rushed in my office, panic written all over his face.

"What is it? Is it rogues? Those filthy animals, right? Let me go, just let me go, and I will rip them in pieces!" he yelled, I could barely understand what he was saying.

I sighed and looked outside the window. As much as I wanted to say something, I couldn't find the words for it.

"Shit, man, I'm sorry," he mumbled under his breath.

"I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried flowers, I've tried gifts, I've tried to reach her, but nothing works. I'm so close to giving up, but I can't, I don't want to. What should I do?" my voice kept trembling.

"Azrael, do you even know has she received her gifts? Have she seen everything?" he questioned me.

The realization hit me hard. Colin was right. What if she hasn't received flowers and gifts? What if she hasn't seen the awkward notes I wrote?

"I can imagine how ashamed you'll feel at the end of this if she has seen your notes. They're the worst love notes ever, we needed to use Google lines, I told you!" my wolf half laughed.

I decided to ignore his bitterness.

"You're right; I wouldn't know. Can you tell my mother to come here? I'll be busy for a few next days, so you're in charge. No whoring around!" I ordered him and sat down.

Colin nodded in approval and left the office.

Now for the last move. Go big or go home, as they say. I was lost in my thoughts when a shy knock brought me back to reality.

"Come in mother," I could feel a smile forming on my lips, each time she was around, she managed to make me feel better.

"Are you ok, baby?" it's been ages since she called me 'baby' last time. That means only one thing; she's worried, more than usually.

"Yes, I am. I'll leave for a bit, so look after Colin, please, it's not that I allow you, but I beg you to kick his ass if he tries to whore around here," I said calmly, slowly getting up from my chair and approaching her. She immediately wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Promise me you'll be safe," she whispered against my chest.

I chuckled and kissed the top of her head.

"I promise."

"And promise that you'll take her home, promise to keep her safe. I miss her; everyone here misses her. We don't want to see you so miserable anymore," she mumbled.

I smiled and looked down at my wonderful mother. The Moon Goddess has blessed me with her; I'm fortunate to have her.

I just nodded, and she left my office smiling.

I quickly wrote the last note, added it to flowers, and gave it to my Delta, who was the one who delivered all flowers to my mate.

I went to my bedroom and put down casual clothes, after taking a quick shower I dressed up and left the packhouse.

I sat down in my car and started my way to my destination.

"It's now or never," my wolf mumbled in excitement.

"Now or never," I repeated after him, parking my car next to their borders. Out of respect for my mate, I did reach out for her father, asking for permission to cross his border. Surprisingly he did let me, more than that; he did allow me to talk to his daughter, which I find weird.

"It is doing of Luna; she likes us, Alpha Snow is overprotective as Hell," why wolf added.

I was about to find her when I heard someone crying.

A woman. Should I go? Maybe she needs help? But I need my mate. Oh, God, I'm becoming weak.

"MATE, MATE, MATE, she needs us, we need to go there! Can't you smell her, it's mate! Go Azrael, waste no time!" my wolf yelled.

I took off as if there was no tomorrow. I slowed down when I felt her being closer. As quiet as I could, I stood behind her. She was crying, holding my notes in her hands, and crying.

It was heartbreaking, if not worse. I couldn't put this feeling in any words; seeing my mate crying made me want to kill anyone who hurt her, and what bothered, even more, was the fact that I was the one to blame. I took a deep breath, trying to stop my hands from shaking.

"I'm ready whenever you are - just do it fast," I spoke coldly, trying to keep all my emotions locked. If this is what she wants, I won't make her feel guilty for me being hurt. I want to see her happy. I want her to meet someone better. Someone, who will be her blessing, because now I'm nothing more than a curse.

She tensed for a moment; all hope I still managed to keep in my heart; it died at this moment.

I looked down at my feet; I can't look into her eyes when she finally rejects me.

"We don't deserve her anyway," my wolf cried.

"Agreed, brother," I added.

The silence was killing me; I was about to look up, to look at my perfect mate one last time, when suddenly gentle arms were wrapped around my waist. As on instinct, I spontaneously wrapped my arms around her tiny body, as if I needed to protect her from all the world's danger.

"I- I could never," she cried against my chest.

I couldn't hold myself back; I just couldn't, not anymore. I placed my hand under her chin and made her look up at me — the next moment, I pressed my lips against hers.
