Chapter 5

Aziz

'Mate is mad; make her forgive us.' Alpha said. I massaged my nose bridge after he said that, because I don't know what came over me when I decided to bring her with me in the pack. She's mad at me, and I am sure that we will only argue about everything since she will never listen to me. And my wolf is not helping at all.

'I can see that, and, of course, I am going to try and make her accept us. Though I wanted to reject her now' I replied. My mate is sitting at the other end of the backseat, afraid or not wanting to get near me; I don't know. Hera talked to her earlier, and, judging by the sadness on her face, I could tell that my mate said something in her mind that didn't escape her ability.

'Don’t you fu****g do that!’ he replied. ‘I think she's hurt.' Alpha added, and I agree with him. Reeves and Lotie told me about it already, so he doesn't need to repeat them and remind me. "Hera," I called out to my sister, "forgive me if I can't announce that you are my sibling when we get to the pack. But you will be staying in the pack house too. I am going to explain to you later why I had to do that."

"Don't worry about me; I already know." She replied, and I sighed in relief before I looked at my mate, whose eyes were outside the window. I don't know how I am going to explain to her why I can't claim her yet.

"Alpha, what about Luna?" When Reeves asked, I thought for a while before I answered. She has to know, so I will just let her hear it.

"Just tell everyone that she's a guest with Hera. She will be staying in the pack house too." I replied, and she glared at me.

"No! I am not going to stay there. I hold my own life, and I will never let myself stay with you." She said angrily.

"This is not something you can rebut. You will only need to do as I say," I said with a stoic face. I didn't want her to think that I was going to be very soft on her just because she was my mate. Although I know to myself that I am going to do everything for her, not now. Not until we killed the vampire king. For now, I will just have to be patient and understanding with her refusal rather than risk her life. I would rather have her angry at me than lose her forever.

"I already told you that I am not going to stay here, and there's no way that I am going to do as you said. I don't even know you!" She replied. It seemed like she was hard-headed, and I didn't have time for that.

"Then stay in the dungeon," I said.

"Alpha!"

"Aziz!" Both Hera and Reeves exclaimed.

"You heard me; bring her to the dungeon as soon as we get in the pack," I told my beta, and I saw him shake his head in disagreement.

"Anywhere is good as long as you're not there." My mate said this before she looked out the window. I massage the bridge of my nose and think about what kind of alpha wolf I am if I am experiencing headaches. This is not normal, for goddess sake. Is this what mates are all about? Yes, I didn't want to meet mine any time now, but I wanted to find her and be with her. Even after what has happened to my mom and dad, I still want to experience it. I know how much they love each other, and it was my motivation to look forward to the time when I found her.

"Make sure to give her a meal only once every two days," I commanded, but I didn't see any reaction on her face, and then Hera laughed loudly, which made me and Reeves look at her confused.

'Idiot! Do I look like I eat daily?' Hera linked me; she's not yet a pack member, so she shouldn't be able to do that just yet. 'I can read thoughts; of course, I can communicate like a mind link as well.' She explained. 'By the way, that's what your mate said in her head.' She added.

"Stop it, Hera," I said with a warning tone. I didn't like her getting into everyone's minds.

"Fine," she replied, and I thought, is this how it feels to have women around? They are making me crazy. What if my mate and I end up with a baby girl? It will be another disaster for sure, and I have to woo them all the time for the rest of my life. Then I heard Hera laughing again, so I'm sure she was reading my thoughts.

"I told you to stop it," I warned her again, and I didn't hear anything from her. I looked at my mate. I don't know if she was sleeping, but her eyes were closed. She must be angry with me, and I couldn't help but sigh heavily. I'm sorry, mate; I just told myself. I cannot say that out loud, though. My eyes were on her for the duration of our drive, and I felt a little sad when we entered our border. I had to send her to the dungeon, and I had to make an excuse to see or visit her there.

Reeves stopped the car in front of the pack house. 'Are you sure you wanted me to bring Luna to the dungeon?' He asked through our mind linked. I saw Hera look at me, probably waiting for my response. Since I gave Miller, the alpha of the Meadow Pack, the idea that she's my mate, I will have to continue what I said.

'Bring her to the dungeon.' I mind-linked Reeves, which made both their eyes widen. I had to do this. I had to protect both of them. Then I turned my back and got inside the pack house with Hera behind me. I'm sure that she was trying to control herself and not yell at me. I didn't hear anything from my mate either, so I guess she wanted to keep herself away from me. It hurts.

'Hell yeah!' Alpha said. It was so funny calling my wolf Alpha since I am an alpha. But what else can I do? He's strong, and he is indeed Alpha.

'I'm sorry; she's hard-headed, and I don't think she’s going to do as I say. I can only protect her that way.' I replied.

'Make sure to find and kill that vampire king as soon as possible. I wanted to be with my mate already.' He replied,

'That goes without saying,' I assured him before he retreated to the back of my head. I reached my office, and I could still feel my sister behind me. She was glaring at me when I looked at her after I took my seat.

"Please, Hera. Don't make things difficult."

"You're the one who was making things hard for you." She replied, "Why did you have to send her there?"

"Why are you asking when you already know the answer?"

"And what? Keep her there until you're done with your mission. What if she already hates you more than now?" Well, I admit. That made me think deeper.
